Spent my stimulus today.

This is how it went -
I looked at my computer today and my bank balance was higher by a couple of thousand.
I went to the bank and asked them to give me green colored paper. When they did, the balance on my bank account went back to normal.
I went to my coin dealer and gave him green colored paper and he gave me silver coins - true money.
My coin dealer put it to me this way - "when has the U.S. given away money? Just money for you to go blow on anything you want? Things must be pretty dire if this is their solution.
On another note - spoke to my mom in Chile and she told me how worried she was because my bank president cousin told her the dollar will fall from 440 pesos to 400 rather soon. Until now Chile's Fed had been buying dollars in the market to help "industrialists" - They are not getting enough pesos back for the dollars they earned exporting to the U.S. so they are trying to keep the dollar high so they won't go broke - problem is that Chile can only buy so many dollars before they run out of money themselves so the dollar will continue to fall unabated.
She also said that she will deposit her money in Chile because she is getting a much better interest rate there. She's losing money holding dollars so she'll convert to pesos AND get a better interest rate.
This is real folks.

i used my tax rebate on 20 troy ounces of silver, may not be much to some, but its better than blowing it on useless stuff. i bought it last week when silver hit at 16.12 with $1 over spot per ounce

She also had a cow when she found out
that the dollar wasn't backed by gold. She asked if it wasn't backed by gold, what was it backed by? I told her "nothing"......silence.....she asked "why would people take it then?"......Bingo! She finally awoke.
Tell her not to worry.
Chile's Socialist president will fix the problem.
I have some small investments in US dollars but, other than that, I don't touch the stuff. Get rid of your play money. Sell your "toys" -- boats, jet skis, 4th and 5th cars, etc. Hold yard sales and get rid of "junk". Swap it all for real money.
My stimulus
went straight to the credit card company. No economic stimulation from me....but my debt ratio improved a bit.
