I've been checking on Huckabee's website today (which is a total ripoff of ronpaul2008.com) and his fundraising is on fire. We've got to buckle down, make recruits and find some money. This media-created run by Huckabee could be just the excuse to further ignore Dr. Paul's meteoric rise. We've got lots of work to do. I plan on talking to all of my Christian Right friends about Paul.

Just look at Romney and Rudy TRYING to make it a 2 man race. They don't want the Pro-War Repubs split between them, Mccain, Thompson, and Huckey.
It is right now. Thats good for us. Folks are realizing what a dude Huckabee is also, its been talked about on most of the Neo-Con boards...only the Pro-War Christians are backing him at this point.

This campaign is not overly concerned with them. This is probably the 25% of the country that thinks Bush is doing well AKA the diminished Republican base. These are the people with landlines who talk to strangers on the phone for an hour.

Strangely enough, I'm actually glad they're doing this. This will help keep the neocons confused as to who to support and will keep their votes spread out more evenly. I was actually disappointed when I learned Newt was for sure not going to jump in, because he would have really diluted things! But now we have Huck to step up and take on that role to some extent. The less of a "clear frontrunner" there is, the better. Keep 'em guessing all the way to the primaries.
I'd be great if the Huckabee
I'd be great if the Huckabee supporters were pro-war types. But I suspect that many of them are evangelicals looking for the most socially conservative candidate they can find. Huckabee was the biggest beneficiary of Brownback's withdrawal. I wonder if Paul can out conservative Huckabee and grab that evangelical block.

Well, I think you'll find that most evangelicals are very pro-war, so they're sort of one in the same group. However, you are right that we should be approaching them on the social conservative angle. And that's where we try and point out Huckabee's other shortcomings (big tax and spender, involved in lots of scandals, etc). But until we can get to these people, I think it will help us to shuffle some of the Big Three's attention on to the Huckster. Keep 'em fighting for that same old, stale piece of the pie, while we start going out and grabbing a whole NEW pie they've never seen before!
Huckabee's biggest problem
Is that he's http://www.taxhikemike.or... "Tax Hike Mike." There's WAY too much similarity in between that & the corruption-allegations with Slick Willie, IMO. The news media can't ignore it forever, even if Tax Hike Mike is (as a former southern preacher -- there's a lot to learn from those guys!!) admittedly a funny guy and a great speaker.

You're either for war or against it. The Huster's speaches on Islamofascism to the CFR have clearly demonstrated where he stands on this issue. He is a war- mongering tax-raising Bill Clinton liberal except where abortion and guns are in the debate.
Mike Huckabee will never be President unless someone dies while he's Veep. The only reason MSM is trotting him out now is because Fred is a dud. There's too much conservative worry about full liberals Rudy and Mitt. When either of those front runners gets the GOP nod, Hucka boo boo will tag along and make the diehard conservatives feel better about their throw-away vote.
Because you can't distinguish any of the "popular" GOP frontrunners from Hillary judging by their platforms. That especially goes for The Man From Hope 2.

Media Pushing Huckabee Because Janice Cherry is One of Them
The media is pushing Huckabee at the moment because one of their own has become his policy director: Janice Cherry. This is a person with no respect for males, someone who promotes all the Democrat legislation that regulates "bad male behavior". She is the reason I am not a Huckabee fan. She would have gladly taken the position of policy director for the NOW. She belongs to a class that pretends to disagree with others of the same mindset about "abortion" but agrees with them on everything else related to male-female issues. It might be different if Huckabee took control of his own policy and spoke with his own middle management in a less hierarchical campaign organization. But it is possible that, without her in control of his policy, the media might not want to push him.
Have you checked the other side of his balance sheet?
He's got quite the "war chest" but check out his debt. I believe he's in the red by about $17.5 million. Ouch!

The issues are with us, and the fact that the MSM is touting yet another candidate will no more slow our momentum than it has to this point. Huckabee's rise is a natural result of social conservatives being sick of their apparent choices and now realizing that Fred Thompson isn't the answer, but it is clear from his fundraising that Huckabee is a one-week story.
Stay on message, be respectful when promoting Paul, and remember that there is no more powerful force than an idea whose time has come. Don't worry about the other candidates: Paul doesn't.

Keep in mind that we raised 2.4 million so far. If you add what each RP supporter or meetup group raised "locally" to spread the message im sure the number will be at least 3 mill (I am talking about the total amount of money raised whether it's for the official campain or not). Also, remember Time is Money :). How much time did we spend spreading the message and what is the cost of it. It's PRICELESS. This is nothing compared to Huckabee.

We're Getting Back on Track
I just visited ronpaulgraphs.com and it currently stands at just over $82,000 for the day. If we maintain the momentum through the end of the week, we'll have somewhere around $560,000 -- not a bad take.
Things are looking up -- don't get discouraged at the last few days' tallies. Remember, people have to get their paychecks every now and then.

He already has 2.5 million and he has 1.2 million pledged for nov 5th. The money hasn't been collected but it has been pledged. So he actually stands at 2.5 mill +1.2 = 3.7 million right now. Add in the money that comes in offline and you have over 4 million.
I wouldn't count the November 5th donations...
...unless you don't think it will effect November's fund raising numbers, and we'll get $4 mil. in November without the bomb. They can't count for both months.

Romney $2300 donations...
When I go to huffingtonpost.com/fundrace to look up who is contributing by zip code, it DOES look like Mitt is getting all the $2300 donations. I have looked at Wyoming, Iowa, Mich, Nevada, NH. He is getting the lion's share.
My simple survey, though not really methodical since I picked the zips with the most donations to review, tell me Mitt Romny is really getting the donations, then comes McCain, then comes Giuliani and with a sprinkle hear and there is Thompson and a wild rare donation for Paul.......very very very few for Huckabee, Brownback, Tankrado...etc.
Paul's donations are small, like $500.
The other candidates get the full amount sent or close to it.
Judging from this, I would say Romney is going to sweep the primaries. Once someone sends in $2300, you vote for who you Paid for.
Here is what I suspect. The Romney crowd PURCHASED or got somehow the Registared Voter list of names and addresses. According to their own website....They have Call Centers calling every day and night.
Where is our call center? What are we doing ? Are we going to start calling people one week before Primaries? That dog won't hunt.
Having NO Call Center RIGHT NOW pains me. The meetup group heads across the Country SHOULD HAVE A COMPLETE REGISTERED VOTER LIST PROVIDED TO THEM to use for direct mail campaigns......I have no clue how to get such a list. Does anyone?

Getting The Registered Voters List
You can get it from your State's "Elections Board" or "Dept of Elections" -- however they term it in your part of the country. It's usually not terribly expensive but will cost something. Most of these depts/boards are fairly small and have a fully staffed office only in the state capitol.
If they give you the option of which form you can get it in, choose "comma delimited text" as its extremely easy to import into anything else you might end up using. Also be sure and get a schema for the field layout or make sure that the first row contains the field headers/names.
And Hey, if you're planning on calling people - have some consideration. Think of how you would react if you didn't give a whit about knowing who Ron Paul was....it'll be easy to turn people's attitudes toward your favorite candidate into a vociferous rejection.
I'm a big fan of Ron Paul and yet am ALREADY VERY TIRED of seeing over-enthusiastic supporters posting and reposting and flooding every dang comment board they can with the Ron Paul message....I can sympathize with the websites and journalists who get fed up...how about reading what's already been posted and seeing if you can add something relevant rather than just reiterating the same old saws all the time, over and over?
Moderation, please. Restrain yourself if you have nothing new to add to the mix....
Voter Vault...the Republican weapon...
We here in Oregon just got introduced to Voter Vault and got access to it. The first training session let 18 organizers get trained and access. This is a program that can be accessed online and is the Republican database of voters. It has google type maps...will choose your canvassing route. It has all the big brother info...like what you are registered...how many times you voted...if you are a gun owner/sportsman and tons of other individual details. Yes...kinda scary, but can be used to tailor your message to certain people or just hit Republicans or whatever. It is comprehensive...nationwide and the Oregon GOP has welcomed us completely after we dominated their conference and straw poll last month.
People HOOK UP with your local and state GOP. YOU ARE GOP now even if you don't like what it stands for now. My father said that it is easier to work within the system than fight it. The systems...worth untold millions are already in place.

Registered Voter List
Hey Treg - I don't know how to get one either but I know there must be a way because when I was taking Government in High School I joined a local campaign for a day and they had a list. I got extra credit for spending a Saturday going to registered voters houses to promote our incumbent judge by handing out literature and talking to folks about whether they would be voting or not. They gave us a printed out list that was sectioned off by district with a map of registered voters and we went door to door. The list stated D, R, non-partisan. There was a forum a while back about a phone bank, did you check out that string? These are great ideas I just don't know how one would go about getting them implemented.

He's closing in on about 80k for today. If he keeps that pace up he'll be in RP's fundraising ballpark quick. i think it's all the fundie Christians getting behind him. WND.com is pushing him hard. Chuck Norris just came out for Huck. I wouldn't count this guy out yet. He's actually a spoiler for Paul. If Huckabee is out of the picture more of the Christian Right would go to Paul, just because most couldn't stomach voting for a Mormon or a serial polygamist like Giuliani.
