"WASHINGTON -- The Food and Drug Administration is withholding a list of Chinese heparin suppliers requested by congressional investigators looking into problems with tainted supplies of the blood thinner, saying confidentiality agreements prevent release of the companies' names."
"Mr. Stupak's House subcommittee is investigating the circumstances surrounding at least 81 deaths in the U.S. linked to tainted heparin derived from Chinese raw materials. The FDA has said it doesn't yet know how or when the contaminated ingredient, oversulfated chondroitin sulfate, was put into the supply. Agency officials have indicated that it was likely a deliberate act, possibly to stretch the supply of a profitable export."

of cow dung. The FDA goes after Ephedra and its suppliers when it has no solid proof that is causes any deaths but here there is well-documented proof but they don't go after the suppliers. Especially when the contamination is deliberate! Something is very rotten in this scenario. We, the people, are not what is being protected here, it is the interests of the very rich.

it's funny how we have this hugebloated bureacracy,and yet we have only one guy who inspects the safety of ALL Chinese small imports. Literally, one guy. Incredible.

I am in shock we are getting prescription drugs from China! But we can't get them from Canada? Can someone help me here? All I see it as is a huge pile of B.S.

Maybe not "ha-ha" funny, but it is one of those "if you don't laugh, you'll cry" sort of things.
What's freaking hilarious is that government has expanded its powers based on a completely bogus interpretation of the Commerce Clause and the phrase "general welfare."
Apparently, "general welfare" now includes subjecting American citizens to certain death in order not to offend the Chinese business men who are killing them.
This ain't America anymore, people.

The pharma companies are bad
The pharma companies are bad BUT the organ harvesting of innocent people over there is HIDEOUS. Of course the organs are often used here in the states.
