The tide is turning!!!!!

I have a relative who used to spew anger when I would talk about Dr. Paul. Then her husband saw an Aaron Russo movie and started talking to his Ron Paul neighbor. Now she only tells me positive things about Dr. Paul and is proud to be on the bandwagon telling other people things that they can't believe. It is funny. Sure wish she would apologize for how nasty she was at first, but I guess I can't have everything!

I am a member of a small group of retired academics and others who enjoy spending a few hours in each month discussing Hegel's SCIENCE OF LOGIC. Yes, I know, a bit odd ... but then again there are all sorts of "clubs" with all sorts of interests. Anyhow, last fall it happened that I was the only one in our group to support him (I voted for him in 1988). As it happens, we often end our meetings by turning to recent political affairs. At first, when Ron Paul's name was brought up, his views were politely taken as "interesting" but impractical and soon dismissed. However, in time, a more reflective consideration took place regarding just what it was that he was proposing, such as ending the "War on Drugs" and other "wars" so favored by the neocons. In the course of a few meetings, his views began to find acceptance. At the moment the majority of our small group, about 8 of us, support Ron Paul. We expect some others to follow. This "conversion" was the result of a fuller understanding of the policies proposed by Ron Paul, and the likely consequences of those policies. Unlike the usual MSM take on Ron Paul supporters, we are neither young nor a particularly excitable group nor particularly "enraged" (Hegel: "The one thing that we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history). Ah, of course, there is nothing wrong with being young and excitable (that's where the energy is found! -- and the source of future generations of Ron Paul Hegelians!

This is a great thread and it sums up why I am optimistic for the long term. Politicians can lie plausibly about foreign policy until the proverbial cows come home - but if they lie about the economy, then their rhetoric will fly in the face of personal experience. Then they're screwed! This also applies to dissatisfaction with the Main Stream Media. If people are angry about issues and the MSM is preoccupied with fluff and nonsense, then people will just switch off and start to google the words "Ron Paul".

over, it looks like canvassing again for the coming elections would be a good idea, handing out more info and if possible, Ron Paul's book.
Perhaps an idea for the meetup groups to start buying the book as hand-outs as part of the change needed to wake up those still asleep. A concerted effort to get the funds to pay for this could be organised perhaps through DP?
A chip in fund perhaps which allows people from overseas to help out once again?

Thats true most people think he dropped out. You know why? because the media said so. Just like most people didnt know he was running at all in the first place.

That's the same reaction I got from people that had heard of Ron Paul and liked him -- they didn't know he was still running (I set them straight)

She's a close friend of Dr. Paul and former treasurer for that area for Dr. Paul, and she's seeking the LP nomination for President as well (she also ran for nomination in 1984).

Dr. Paul actually nominated her for a FDA Commissioner post and he wrote a jacket review for her bestseller "Healing Our World".

She's also a damned nice lady in general.

I've been canvassing door to door for a local candidate, and at about 5% of the houses, the residents explode into angry tirades when I mention I'm with the republican party. It's not like I'm knocking on the doors of Obama supporters or anything, these are coming from people who are registered as republicans.

Some people I know are starting to swing over to Dr Pauls camp.
People who a few months ago thought I was crazy.

I love saint Bush and the whole establishment! Everyone should be more patriotic and just do what they are told!

Cause when enough people take to the streets what do you think the gov will be doing with all those crowd control devices they have purchased. I am gonna have to say that I stand with Alex Jones on this one. They know what coming and have prepared to try and squash a Revolution.

Now it will be interesting to see who they turn to once they fully realize what has been happening.

Some of them will turn to Dr. Paul but not all. Some will move in other political directions. Our current environment is similar to pre-world war two Europe, disgruntled citizens looking for new leaders. Hope they choose wisely...

The average person is starting to wake up. :o)
Now if they will get mad enough to start to contact their representatives.
