I would advise him to NOT get a job...

...but rather, to start his own business. And if he had to incorporate, so be it.

He will never achieve freedom as an employee. We have a free enterprise capitalist economic system (in spite of the bureaucratic fascism that exists to strangle the little entrepreneur) that he would be wise to participate in.

Let's Reign! (Rev. 5:10)

it is my belief, but one i have lived by since i was 16

that if you can't buy it with cash you probably don't need it. i'm 33 and whenever i think of buying something i look at it in cash. for example my friend sells mattresses. i really like those memory foam deals. i have the money to pay cash, but she mentioned financing. i told her that though never crosses my mind. i refuse to get involved in that credit scam.

From a long-time patriot...

When I turned 16 (1977), I put off getting an SS Numeral for as long as possible. When I couldn't really put it off any longer, I filed W4E. I hope that helps.

Well

My daughter has a Social Security number and she is 7 right now and my wife and I have another on the way. I will not get a social security number issued for the second baby, as it is voluntary to get involved in that program and is explained on their website. I will advise both of them to NOT file when they get their first job.

What happenes is you end up giving up your rights the first time you file.

I Know A Person That Has.......

Never filed a federal income tax return.Me.He worked for decades and went to the local IRS office to try to straighten thing out and his Ss number was entered into the computer 3 times and it came back blank all 3 times. There is no IRS file on that person. No first return no file created. It's his choice, he can work and have deductions take n out and never file and they'll never know about him and he will still be paying into social security (probably wont get any of it back though).

Unless you know exactly how

Unless you know exactly how to navigate around the IRS I would school him on the evils and criminality of this system and encourage him to create change in his unique way. I have 4 kids 19-26 and not one has been able to stay deaf to the education of liberty and the constitution. They all pay taxes but they understand that there are things they can do to change it. One is an entrepreneur the others have regular jobs. None agree with the IRS and they will recite to their friends why that is so. All support Ron Paul. The future is theirs, I'm looking forward to the solutions they create. Encourage your son, see him as part of the solution. Kids will respond to that expectation.

He should file

As immoral as you or I may believe the income tax to be...he has to file. We are forced to do so...look at Wesley Snipes for example...they will imprison you for a long time and it will cost more than was to be stolen originally.

They have it set up this way...if you have a SS#, you are locked into the income tax system...if you don't, you can't get a legal job.

If it's an under the table type job...I wouldn't worry about it too much though...it's not worth it for them to chase lawn cutters.

No jzneff, He Does Not Have To File....

I'll be 50 in a few months and I have never filed. Not once, ever. IRS has no file on me.Have worked a 50/50 over and under the table ratio since 1974.I have a drivers license, current US Passport (unchipped),multiple bank accounts,PayPal Account, Credit Cards, borrowed money from my credit union.I have never showed anyone a "Tax Return" for myself because they don't exist.

Once again you are wrong, maybe you can try to get my ip and turn me into your friends.

Liar

I know I said I wouldn't respond to you anymore...but i'll break my rules once.

So is it your friend who's never filed one, or is it you? I find myself naturally skeptical when someone says "my friend" and then a few threads down claims it to be him.

You have worked legit jobs in the past, which is to say that you worked jobs where income tax was withheld. You cannot pay income tax if the IRS doesn't know who you are, so if you've paid income tax, they have a file on you...if you haven't, then you haven't worked a legit job.

I'm not arguing if it is or isn't possible to live without filing a tax return, just arguing that you aren't one of them.

Maybe I can turn you into one of my friends??? Obviously, you're either lying or haven't made enough income in your life for anyone to care about...and I don't have any friend with the IRS.

Oh No jzneff You Will Always Respond To My Retorts To You..

because you are a misinformed fool who can't help himself.

Not a liar, just was not sure to fully expose myself because things have changed drastically since 2001.

I will now prove you wrong.

After working for about twenty years and never filing a federal income tax return I was kind of stupidly worrying about those vultures at the IRS.
I decided to meet with them to see how things could be worked out. This was after reading about how some tax resister leader had been jailed.I went to the local IRS office and met IRS Agent Jim Snyder. I removed my Social Security card that was issued for me by my parents when I was a child.I hand Mr Snyder my card, I watched him punch my number into the computer and the screen returned nothing. I requested that he try again, Again nothing, blank screen no file returned. I then distinctly said to him to try it once more"threes a charm".Again nothing. He then turned to me and asked if I had ever filed a Federal Income Tax Return. I told him I never had. He then said to me and I quote "don't worry about it but when you file were going to come down on you like a ton of bricks". I got my card back and proceeded out the door and haven't looked back. And yes I have worked for years at legitimate jobs with that legitimate SS number and they do not have a file on me.I have no contract with them, that contract or agreement starts the minute you file.
Quote by you:"I'm not arguing if it is or isn't possible to live without filing a tax return, just arguing that you aren't one of them".
I am one of them and you can go pee up a rope.

Again...liar

So, you knew a person who never filed and went in to get his SS# checked, and now you are that person?

So if this lie isn't strong enough, then are you going to claim to be the IRS agent who checked the computer, or maybe you'll claim to be a tax attorney who specializes in this sort of thing.

Sure...some people may be able to fly beneath the radar screen, i'm just saying that you are not one of them.

jzneff You Broke Your Rule Yet Again, Maybe Your'e The Liar.

jzneff said"I know I said I wouldn't respond to you anymore...but i'll break my rules once". Thats twice you have "lied" now and responded to me.

you truly are a jackass.I never claimed to be an IRS agent ,cant you read? With your little attacks of "liar" and fantasizing future scenarios in your little pea brained head. If is exactly as I stated it. Thats what happened at the IRS office.Whats so hard about taking that at face value?
I am one of them so I will repeat" go pee up a rope".
If you know the analogy you know that it's impossible because of gravity and it's also impossible for you to prove I am lying. I don't have any reason to.
