Bob Barrs excellent record on Illegal Immigration
Gee people, do a little research before you make up stuff. For the guy that said Bob Barr was weak on illegal immigration, where did you get your info from? Bob Barr has an excellent record on Illegal Immigration, even better than Dr. Paul's.
Numbers USA gives him an A+, only Tancredo and Duncan Hunter do as well. See Below

Maybe you should do some
Maybe you should do some more research?
That record listed at Americans for Better Immigration(ABI) was from years past when he was a republican, before he became a libertarian. His positions have softened since then.
Now, Barr is for giving citizenship to illegal aliens, something Ron Paul pledged not to do. Barr is also against states like Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Arizona taking steps to cause illegal aliens to leave their states and RP is for states rights and I don't think RP has ever said that states should not be allowed to take steps to stop illegal immigration, especially when the federal government isn't doing the job anywhere near well enough.

So, with that in mind, I could not support Bob Barr.
Maybe you should actually read Barr's blog for yourself
Maybe you should actually read what Bob Barr's reasonings are rather than let some wordpress idiot tell you what Bob Barr's really thinks.
Here is what Bob Barr's reasonings are and they are exactly that of Ron Paul's on this issue. Bob Barr is just as tough on illegal immigration as he has always been.

Texas Town Moves to Ban Property Owners from Renting to Illegal Aliens
The citizens of Farmers Branch, Texas, approved a measure this past Saturday that prohibits landlords from renting to illegal immigrants. The ordinance will require that persons wishing to lease an apartment in that Dallas suburb to prove they are a U.S. citizen. While seemingly a good idea to combat illegal immigrants from setting down roots in our communities, at least for a true conservative property-rights perspective, it is not a good idea at all. The prohibition on renting property sets a terrible precedent for government control over the right of property owners to rent to whoever they choose (so long, obviously, as they do not unconstitutionally discriminate). The Texas proposal runs roughshod over property rights, and forces property owners to do what government has proved incapable of or unwilling to do – stop illegal immigration.
What about Barr wanting to
What about Barr wanting to give citizenship to illegal aliens? Thats a form of amnesty that RP is against. I don't call that being tough on illegal immigration, I call that weak.
I can't find where he said that anywhere
I can't find where Bob Barr said that anywhere. The closest thing I could find was him saying in Dec of 2007 that the illegals should go home and then apply for citizenship like everyone else.
Also what you might be referring to was that Bob Barr said it was impractical to round up and deport all of the 12 million plus illegals. He said that if they don't have work they will return on thier own.

Apparently, among some conservatives, there’s been some dispute over where Libertarians stand on the issue of illegal immigration.
“The Libertarian Party has not exactly been strong on the issue of controlling the Mexican invasion into this country,” Boortz began.
“Actually, they have been,” Barr replied.
The two gentlemen moved to the matter of what to do with the paperless people who are already here.
Said Barr:
“You set a mechanism internally to determine who is here. And if you catch folks that are here unlawfully, and do not submit themselves to a background check that those coming into this country are going to be required to do, then you send them back to their country.”
Said Boortz:
“It sounds to me that you’re saying, if you find an illegal immigrant in this country, and they’re willing to submit to a background check, that that could open the door to them staying here.”
Said Barr:
“I think as a practical matter, that makes a lot of sense. I’m not sure how you would go about rounding up millions of people and trying to deport them. The key here is security….”
Ok, so what Barr said, his plan seems to be to have all illegal aliens submit to a background check, and all that do will be allowed to stay in the U.S. and won't be required to leave. He may not have specifically said citizenship, but basically he would allow the vast majority of illegal aliens to remain in the country, odds are the dems(McCain might jump right on that bandwagon again to help try to pass it) would try to pass another amnesty bill for illegals in the country, and next time around it might pass and then you'll have 20+million illegal aliens getting citizenship.
Then Barr trots out that tired old line that McCain, Bush, Hillary and Obama all use, that we can't deport them all, so we have to let the illegals stay.
Of course that site you referenced, NumbersUsa explains that we don't have to deport all the illegals, because if illegals can't work in the U.S. illegally and they can't get welfare(or get automatic citizenship for their kids), then most illegals will leave the country on their own, largely solving the illegal immigration problem over time(it would have to be phased in over a period of time(not longer than a single presidential term) to allow the 10% of the economy using illegal labor to adjust back to legal workers, and not do it too suddenly or there could be too much of an economic upheaval.
You need to listen to the rest of it, its cut off
What he says is that the illegals will go home on their own because of tougher laws against employers etc, when they don't have a job they will leave. Again he is saying its impracticle to round them up and ship them back. I agree, but he never said he would give them any form of amnesty, however I disagree with the basic stance of just letting them stay here. I think that if they are caught here illegally then they should be sent back, however I don't think there should be some targeted roundup to haul them back on trains to Mexico. I do think there should be laws that make it very hard for them to stay here -everything from employer to driving to housing to free education to free medical except for extreme emergencies.
