Several things have happened in the past few days, first we found that Buffalo Chip Camp ground has invited none other than the infamous John McCain to speak at the camp and obviously support his bid for President. We Do NOT. With this information, plus plus more and more little add ons like gate fees and additional fees passed on to the guests. We therefore decided to not use this facility.
I have noticed that the Revolution March has taken our lead and is trying to organize workshops much like what we have put together plus entertainment and more of a festival type of venture other than just a march on Washington which it all started out to be. I sincerely wish them well as I have always said that imitation is a real form of flattery and anything that is done to bring more awareness to people is a good thing. I just hope they have taken into consideration the cost of staying in the DC area for a 4 day week end is extremely high plus the Congress and Senate leave Washington on Friday and return on Tuesday which means that not one of the politicians that need to see this event will be in the area at the time of the March or now as it is being promoted a Convention. I saw on one list that the cost of a Ronvoy Bus was estimated at $10,000.00 for 50 people? I don't know where the figures came from but it surely was not Greyhound as the daily fees for a bus from them averaged at $1,200.00 for 57 people per bus per day. I really hope this does not turn into a money making event with dedicated Ron Paul supporters again paying the bills.
With planning ahead Michelle contacted Lamphere Ranch Campground that is willing and able to hold our Festival without all the extras and at a minimal cost to the people attending. A beautiful Ranch Campground with lots of shade trees, Creek running through it, big buildings for inside vendors and workshops, even the kitchen will be at our disposal so meals will not be a problem for thousands of folks. The workshops will help everyone learn how to keep their family fed, safe and healthy in times of unrest which are coming. The best part is we will be having fun while learning and teaching.
This is a family affair, the kids are welcome to be kids, play and have their own workshops, learn how to make and fly kites, games, contests and lots of prizes for them to win and enjoy. Remember the old days? Three legged races? running with an egg in a spoon? Tug of War? Hop Scotch? Jump Rope? Horse Shoes? Lawn Tennis? Croqette? Lets get back to the good times where kids and parents were in tune and having fun together. It will do us all good to be a little silly for a change, there are too many really serious dangers we all worry about daily and we need to all relax, have fun and be with others who share the same thoughts.

i made a reservation at the buffalo chip for the week in a cabin which cost me a total of $137.00 ! you brag about how frickin cool its going to be and tell us to make our reservations now! and this is what you do? you suck! now how far from buffalo chip is this campground? am i allowed to to attend these events even though im not camping there? will it cost me to get in? how do you expect anyone to make plans or reservations when you cancel them. i cannot get a refund on the cabin! get your shit together before you make all these damned promises. i'm pissed!

Not funny, funny you didn't email us and ask us directly. You will receive a full refund from the Chip because of the change.
Obviously you just wanted to post negative information at DP. That's ok. Let us know when you receive your refund. At the new campground you will end up spending less money because although you reserved the cabin, you must not yet had paid their additional $25 that they wanted from every person. Which would bring your fees up to $150 plus taxes. At Lamphere you will just pay the Cabin fee if there is less then 2 of you going. Please visit the website for full information.

ok , in a fit of anger i may have jumped the gun and it went off. i'm very sorry for the negative post. your right, i should have checked into this before flying off the handle. actually this new place looks nicer anyways. maybe not as fancy but it looks more cozy. do you know who i should talk to about a refund? and are there any cabins there that are available still? again sorry for freakin out, gotta lay off the coffee.
the new campground
There is a large difference between the two campgrounds. Lamphere has a lush green grass for the tent area, paved main roads, the shower house is large and CLEAN. I was very impressed with the setup. The main building has a large covered area so it will be shaded while listening to our speakers and bands. They are even putting in a fire pit for us to have a real campfire! And yes, wiring the main building for Wi-Fi! :)
True the Chip was ENORMOUS and nice, but personally I do like the Lamphere when it comes to appearances. (I spent a lot of time going to the campgrounds checking them out).

I want to mention, if we had stayed at the Chip, for 2 people in a cabin it would have cost $175 for the week. At Lamphere it will only be $125. That is quite a difference. We had not realized that the Chip was expecting $25 PER person whether they were there for 1 day for for 5 days and we (the Granny Warriors) will NOT charge people $25 to come out for a day.
