Ron Paul- 13%

With 26% reporting, Ron Paul has 12% so far.... Only Ron and McCain appear to be on the ballot... apparently Huckabee is on there, but no one has voted for him it seems...

**according to Nebraska voters, Huckabee was NOT on the ballot, but let's all laugh and make fun of him anyways since AOL says otherwise...

I think it's amazing that Ron Paul is doing so well in such a heavily Republican state... how can they say we're not Republicans? What's more, this is the first state where it's only Ron and John... that means the anti-McCain opposition is in full support of our guy. Plus, 13% don't like McCain and simultaneously support Dr. Paul (therefore it's possible that even more people don't like McCain).

Lastly, 13% in a primary is I believe one of Ron Paul's best primary results...

in 2000 John McCain received 15% in the state to Bush's 78%... in case you were interested.

Also, I don't believe Ron Paul even campaigned in this state... and he still got 13%.

stay tuned for updates.

McCain Worried About Hawaii?

Today, I had a message from John McCain on my answering machine asking me as a delegate to support him at the state convention. Why is he so concerned??? I thought he said he had the nomination locked up. This, of course, is happening everywhere in the country. People are fed up with McCain and the prospect of more Bush league government.

Help restart the Nevada State Convention

Some of you may know that the Nevada State Republican Convention was recessed indefinitely because the Ron Paul group was on the verge of sweeping all the delegates to the national convention. If you would like to help restart the convention, see the link below for more information. We need to put pressure on the state party officials to restart the convention:

13%! And From a Candidate Who Supposedly Dropped Out!

13% is pretty good when the CFR controlled media continues to tell us that he dropped out! John McCain is an embarassment. I look forward to the Republican Convention. Hopefully, the CFR connection can be exposed in the National Republican leadership.

If the party rank and file, can be shown that the leadership's strings are being pulled from outside the Party, there could be a real revolt at the convention.

Personally, I'm a disgusted Nebraskan

While I'm glad to see him get 13%, I was expecting much more. In my canvasing, I had about 5% for "a democrat" and I pursuaded about half of them. I had about 5% undecided which about half went 'whole hog' to RP and half seriously said they'd research him. I missed about 15% of the people because no one was home and the rest were looking for someone just like RP to vote for because they hadn't planned on voting at all for one of the other three. I was so psyched. I see only RP signs everywhere. I have to laugh, because a friend and I joke about removing the only other sign (Obama) we know of. I really wanted to know how my county voted because I know of at least 75 people that were guaranteed votes. Now I can't ever see if they got counted.

On the other hand, I've gotten 3 stations' radio hosts to agree with most of his principles and goals (IRS, IRAQ, FED, etc.) without mentioning his name but once I mention his name, I get cut off.

I've never heard his name on the local news (which explains why only about 1% that I've talked to have even heard his name). Even the election results in the paper yesterday only mentioned McCain in passing as the obvious winner, in the middle of an Obama sentence. No GOP results, no percentages and no candidate list.

Oh, well. It's a good thing that we've gathered 5 delegates out of the total of 8 for our county.

My town, interestingly as well, mysteriously voted for a courthouse rebuild that no one wanted. It passed with 50.1%. All votes are fill-in-the-circle and I'm not sure how they're counted.

I have only met one person in my town yet

to confess to voting for McCain. Allot of people in my town knew I was putting up signs and campaigning for Ron Paul..so it was encouraging when I would see someone on the street and they would come up to me and say..hey I voted for Ron Paul today !!
I have to laugh because allot of the people that have told me this are the wealthiest in town and pillars of our community...and here they where calling Ron Paul supporters nuts on the news the other night.

I feel your pain.

I live across the river in Iowa. My whole family (wife & two kids) went to Nebraska City to canvas For Ron Paul. Our response was very good but most people had either never heard of Ron Paul or "knew" that he had dropped out.

One of our biggest challenges was convincing people that he was still a candidate. I must admit, I was a little upset at Dr. Paul's lackadaisical approach to campaigning in general and since Super Tuesday in particular. As I pointed out below, I have pleaded with the HQ to at least think about making a concerted effort in ONE state, just to see if we could come close to winning.

If Ron Paul had decided to visit the Omaha/Lincoln area EVEN ONCE, I think he might have doubled his vote. If he had visited four times.... who knows.

One thing I do know, the media blackout would have been busted.
No Nebraska TV station is going to ignore a visit to Omaha by a presidential candidate, even a minor one. (I know what you mean about never hearing about RP on the news, however. I have emailed complaints to the local public radio station twice for talking about "the two remaining candidates" before Huckabee dropped out.)

Bottom line-- It is amazing that we did as well as we did given the challenges that we faced. I just wish that some of them had not been created by our own non-campaigning candidate.

Congratulations Nebraska workers!
Great showing!

Too bad Dr. Paul did not give you ANY support in Nebraska.
He never visited the state, not once.
I pointed out the tremendous opportunity in NE, but I guess the campaign is not interested in making us look like a credible political movement.

Wow... Who knew Nebraska had

Wow... Who knew Nebraska had a primary today? At least no one who reads cnn... http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state... ???

Math geniuses

Actually, it seems more like 15%... I don't know what's going on, maybe 2% of people wrote in a candidate and we aren't seeing those people on the stats.

At 93%
==========
McCain- 87% (109,331)
Ron Paul- 13% (16,422)

But,

16,422/109,331 = 15.0204%

SO THEIR MATH IS WRONG!?!?

Now at 96%
=====
McCain- 87% (113,508)
Ron Paul- 13% (16,951)

16,951/113,508 = 14.933749163054586460866194453254%

Which is just like 15% to me.

Sorry, you math is wrong.

It's 16422/(109331+16442) = 16422/125773 = 0.13057 = 13.06%

You forgot to add up the total votes first before figuring the precentage.

Duh,. It's way too late.

Duh,. It's way too late. thanks

Thank you, Nebraska!

Everybody who's worked hard in previous primary contests knows the amount of hard work and dedication that goes into this process. We are proud to say that 17,587 people in Nebraska did NOT vote for John McCain.

Thank you, Nebraska, for showing the GOP that we are NOT satisfied with the media's annointed nominee. Thirteen percent may not seem like a victory, but it sends a powerful message to the country that we are not willing to accept "more of the same," in the words of Ron Paul.

Once again, I thank everybody in Nebraska and aVoiceOfReason for keeping us updated throughout the night.

remember

these polls are rigged im sure there doing everything they to lose our ballots.

Man I go play softball.

Good Work

You Only Need 33% for a Revolution

Only about one third of the British colonists in America favored the Revolution. One third remained loyal to the King and presumably the other third were busy watching Colonial Idol and Your Momma Don't Minuet.

The Nebraska results along with similar support throughout the nation shows that we are much closer to an effective Revolution than we might have thought.

America is waking.

Thank you, Dr. Paul!

You can add to the reported numbers also..

Far to many Ron Paul supporters did not register or change their party in time to vote in the primary. I also had way to many people flat out tell me it would not be won in the political arena..they liked Ron Paul and all but they where not going to vote.

Thanks for posting

This is truly a good night.

WOOT!! WOOT!! WOOT!! WOOT!! WOOT!! WOOT!! WOOT!!

Were coming at ya...git ready St.Paul!!

What's sweeter?

Ron Paul breaking double-digits against the MSM's annointed one, or Huckabee at 0% ??

Huckabee wasn't on the

Huckabee wasn't on the ballot, according to people who were voting in Nebraska... I have no idea why AOL is showing him up there.... but oh well, I like it, because it's funny.

He was on my ballot. What

He was on my ballot. What was sweetest though, was Ron Paul was the first name on the ballot.

Personally I didn't think Ron would do good here. Nebraska people are pretty arrogant if you ask me. They are all for these BS wars and seem to love losing their rights. It has always mainly been a republican state, and they go along with whatever the republican party is doing, right or wrong. If they want a war on terror and a war on your rights, then by god our state is going to support it because it's patriotic to follow your govt.

Each of our senators and congressmen have voted to violate our 4th amendment rights. I don't expect our voters to accept anything less in who they vote for president.

Same here in PA

Ron Paul was first on the ballot in Pennsylvania as well. It was great because many people weren't aware that he was still running and at the poll I worked, people refused to take the slim jim I handed out. On their way out, a lot of people apologized for refusing and said they'd voted for him. I guess they believed the machines over me, but oh well.

Only Ron Paul and McCain where on my ballot

here in Nebraska. Of course there was a spot for other if you wanted to write in someone's name. BUT when you write in someone's name your ballot gets kicked out of the counting machine and they only count those ballots if a race is close.

Paul Should have went

At 12% I have to wonder if just one stop in Omaha would have brought that way up.

Not sure how we'll come out but I do know certain cities in Nebraska had a ton of RP signs...so I'm hoping we can climb above 10% at least.

8% right now for Ron Paul
