They are perpetuating a lie...

There are two reasons that the Neocons want a war with Iran.
First, they have oil, as everybody knows, and this administration feels that military force is necessary to secure our need for the oil, which is ridiculous, because they have oil, but they need money. They will sell us the oil, we don't have to occupy the country to get the oil.

Secondly, and most important, is the fact that the Iranians have opened up their oil bourse and have announced within the last two weeks that they no longer accept US dollars for oil. They will only accept Euros or the Yen.

This is the real reason for the war. This is something we never hear on the MSM. We need to tell these people that we know whats going on. They need to be upfront with the American people. We should start an e-mail compaign to inform these reporters about the real reason that Bush wants war with Iran.

If other countries follow Iran's lead it will be devastating for the value of the American dollar. It may be devastating for just Iran to not accept dollars as they produce 25% of the world's oil.

We should point out the truth, and try to get the MSM to point out the truth to the American people.

But, this is only my opinion.

This stinks!

I could say a lot of bad words right now but I won't. I am so upset, our poor men and women in the arm services they are pawns for sure. If there is a God please help us. Peace

Marshal Law can be declared if the President declares a 'national emergency'. That emergency can be a natural disaster or a terrorist attack (this per the language in the article passed). You can learn more on this from YouTube or Google.
Once Marshal Law is enacted, elections are suspended indefinitely, FEMA controlls the military, any/all transportation, food, medical, etc. can be remanded by FEMA. Think in terms of the movie, "Red Dawn", or "I am Legend".
When Mussolini was getting his paramilitary troops together, he couldn't have Italians rounding up Italians....he brought in forign troops that didn't speak Italian, and therefore couldn't be pleaded with. Where do you suppose our "guardians" will come from?

Suicide for our sailors

An air craft carrier is designed to be hundreds of miles off shore out of harms way from any land artillery. Sending them into the Gulf is suicide for our sailors.

Every country with shore line in the gulf will take aim. Wether they are enemies with their neighbors or not, all of them have been manipulated by our government at one time or another.

The Adrmiral (forgot his name) they just forced out said to expect very high casualties as we would be ducks in a pond.

My daughter is on the Nimitz in Guam, supposably heading to Hawaii in 4 days, then back to San Diego. We'll see?

Listen people

I can't believe the tone of these comments. It sounds like everyone will allow Bush to do any illegal act he wants?!? As commander-in-chief he can move troops around, but he CAN'T start a war unilaterally. If we all lay down then, yes, he can do anything he wants like declare martial law or a war. Who has the power in this country, we the people or the government? The answer to that question is entirely up to us. We need to change our attitude and step up to the plate. We need to continue talking about these things with our fellow Americans, and if this deployment is NOT just to relieve another ship then we need to increase our posts, emails, letters conversational communications etc. 100 times over, and bring this man up on criminal charges should that power line be crossed.

That line was already crossed in Iraq

He's already broken the law by going into Iraq without the consent of Congress in a preemptive situation. Congress gave themselves a way to prosecute him for being a dictator right there and he took the bait. They can prosecute him for that. What they are waiting on I don't know. Maybe they all want to go to jail with him...

What are you talking about?

Congress gave him the authority to go into Iraq. Hillary Clinton was one who voted for it. What I'm saying is that we must remember the large theatrical display about WMD's to get us all to go along with it. Iran is a different story, and we are not as naive as we were after 9/11.

Page 54 of The Revolution: A Manifesto...

"Now, didn't Congress authorize the war in Iraq after all? No, and certainly not in a manner consistent with the Constitution. Congress has no constitutional authority to delegate to the president the decision regarding whether to use military force. That power was consciously and for good reason put in the hands of the people's elected representatives in the legislature."

The Security Council passed legislation which allowed the president to decide if war with Iraq should occur or not. Doing so was unconstitutional as we the people were not being represented in the decision. Giving a president the ability to start preemptive wars was exactly what our founding fathers did not want.

If I've misunderstood that quote I'll be the first to apologize. No declaration of war is illegal. Obviously we've gone to war without a declaration so there's been a precedent set for all future presidents to use. It shouldn't have been allowed to happen once. Once it did it opened up the floodgates for more and that's exactly what's been happening. Slowly over time the president has gained more power than originally intended and it's been abused more often than not. President is not a king nor royalty though they obviously don't see it that way and it's because of the power of precedence.

Meet the new "war"...

...same as the old "war."

"If we want to live in a free society, we need to break free from these artificial limitations on free debate and start asking serious questions once again." -Ron Paul

Doesn't the world hate us enough already?

We've sent 6 carrier groups on a routine basis to the gulf since we started the war in Iraq. I don't know how many are currently there or how many are being relieved but please note this is not an unprecedented event or that this is an indication for a war with Iran. I think you are jumping the gun on your assumption but that's my personal belief. Time might prove me wrong who knows.

If a war starts with Iran then oh well there is nothing you or I can do about it. It would be another nail in Bush's coffin for ignoring the constitution and claiming power that our founding fathers expressly did not want him or any president to have... at least according to Ron Paul's "The Revolution: A Manifesto". To me, ladies and gentlemen, going to war without notice, without congress approval, and especially the American Public's approval, might be considered a criminal act or at least one of the highest negligence making him unfit for office. He's already done it once and why he wasn't impeached already I have yet to comprehend.

Or...

He could stage another "Gulf of Tonkin" incident, have some American sailors killed, supposedly from an attack by the Iranians... and decide to retaliate.

He could declare martial law at that point, halt the election, and take over as our dictator.

Hitler did it using the Enabling Act... virtually identical to the Patriot Act... after he burned down the Reichtstag. This allowed him to come to power and take over. He was elected too remember.

Sounds crazy considering the fact that most Americans feel he is doing a terrible job.

But what if another 9/11 type event happened? What if they did "sink one of our ships"? Would Americans realize it's not real? Or would they rally behind him like they did after 9/11, thinking our government could never do that?

The scary thing is... it doesn't really matter. He has the power to take over and become our dictator at any time. Whether we like it or not.

That's the real scary part.

this is my fear too! but i

this is my fear too! but i think it will be to disguise a total collapse of the US economy! they need to blame there 70 years of socialism and federal reserve counterfeiting of our money collapse on those dang terrorists! with the executive orders on the books , Gorge Booosh can do what ever he likes.. all he has to do is create a "crisis" .

Don't worry about it

...cause our good friends the Canadians will be more than happy to help send troops south of their border to 'maintain that dank new world odor'

Was expecting this

after they put the fourth fleet back in action (Idle since 1950). Babysit Venezuala......

All these ships will be sunk ...........

........... if the uS attacks Iran. Do not underestimate Iran, they are in possession of Russian-built Kilo-class diesel submarines as well as their own made Ghadir-class light submarines which can fire missiles and torpedoes simultaneously and operate with sonar-avoiding capability. (Just like the Chinese Song class submarine that surficed within firing range of the USS Kitty Hawk while she was operating in the Pacific back in 2006) They are also in possession of sun-burn anti ship missiles that even the Phalanx gun cannot shoot down.

I believe the fifth fleet and all other uS ships in the region are to be used as sacrificial lambs (just like those at Pearl Harbour) to give the uS and israel the excuse to use (mini) nukes. Do the research on Irans arsenal and you too will see that the fifth fleet will be in trouble.

could be but please

could be but please remember.... when the isrealis took out that nuclear base in syria , the syrians were supposed to have a state of the art russian air defense system... it didn't work!

as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

Puleeeese....

I don't think the Iranians will be able to touch our Navy.

A bunch of old Russian diesel subs stand no chance against our nuclear powered Navy.

I'd be willing to bet they couldn't even hit one of our ships... that is... if we didn't want them to.

Our sub fleet is powerful. We could sneak up on any ship or sub in the Gulf and blow it out of the water before they ever even knew we were there. I was stationed on a sub for 6 years. I was a nuclear reactor operator.

the Iranians do have some

the Iranians do have some good anti ship missles! super sunburns is what I think they are called.. but we shouldn't be over there period!

as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

Don't over-estimate them either

The Ghadir's are really small, and so their weapons capabillities are limited. The Kilo Class russian subs are exports, and are known to have operational difficulties.

The sunburn missiles are fast, but have much less range and much poorer guidance systems than the U.S. Harpoon, They are also susceptable to Jamming - so it doesn't matter if the phalanx can't easily hit them. Further, they have to get close enough to fire, their effective range is 200 km at best. And they have never been used in a combat situation. .

Also, some of the Iranian built deystroyers that have sunburn launchers are in the caspian sea, so they can not be deployed to the gulf - so the effective numbers are lower than what you read.

Bottom line is that the Iranians could do some damage with a sneak attack, Where they might use assymetric suicide missions. But if the U.S. strikes first, expect Bandar Abbas to be leveled very quickly, and don't expect more than 1 or 2 missles to get through, and maybe a sea Mine or two. But all the carriers sunk, hardly. It would take multiple sunburn hits to sink a carrier.

You must remember, the military and CIA tends to exagerate the capabilities of our enemies. The Iranians are no threat.

Exactly...

No threat. None at all. They won't even get close... unless we let them.

The scary thing is that the biggest fascist since Hitler, GW Bush, has all this power at his fingertips.

God help us.

Can we say $200/bbl oil kids?

OK, are we the people really going to let THE a$$-clown start WW3?

holy shit.

Congress (Senate and the House of Representatives)

is much the blame for non-declared wars, also. With the exception of Dr. Paul, they all gotta go, and throw in the Supreme Court while were at it.

SAN DIEGO – The aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan will leave May 19 for a six-month deployment with its air wing and five San Diego-based escort ships.

More than 7,000 sailors are scheduled to deploy. While the Navy typically doesn't reveal the destinations of its carrier strike groups, the deployments usually include time in the Persian Gulf.

The Reagan, the newest of the Navy's nine Nimitz-class carriers, will be accompanied by the cruiser Chancellorsville, the frigate Thach and the destroyers Decatur, Gridley and Howard.

Also joining the contingent will be Lemoore-based Carrier Air Wing 14. The air wing includes Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 30 and Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron 4, both from North Island Naval Air Station.

The Reagan is one of two carriers based at North Island. The second, the Nimitz, is due to return from its own Middle East deployment next month.

A third carrier, the Carl Vinson, is slated to join the Reagan and Nimitz in about two years.

Their Mission: ..."Contain Local Disruptions"...

From the Navy Times
http://www.navytimes.com/...

“This deployment reinforces the Navy’s Maritime Strategy of limiting regional conflict with forward-deployed, decisive maritime power and fostering cooperative relationships in order to prevent and contain local disruptions before they impact the global system,” Navy officials said in a statement.

Their mission

"incite violence and start WWIII"

it's awful but...

another war (and it's affects on the price of oil and the economy) will probably have a wide majority ready to march on washington with pitchforks and muskets... sure would be nice to see all the criminals yanked out of office and thrown in jail (with no chance of parole or soap-on-a-rope :-)

Ya think?

Look what we have already put up with!

true...

but history is littered with examples of people being pushed over the edge and taking action (some fairly grisly action in most cases), I think the economy/price of gas could very well be the final catalyst (they may not understand what Paul supporters understand but ignorance + rage is alot more useful to our cause than just plain ignorance)...
