Interesting that the Vatican has a chief astronomer. I love it when they start leaking this stuff. Let's all welcome are extraterrestrial brothers. Maybe we can get them registered to vote.
VATICAN CITY (AP) - The Vatican's chief astronomer says that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.
The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, says that the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.
In an interview published Tuesday by Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes says that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures.
The interview was headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother." Funes said that ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom.

As for religion corrupting politics, you'll get no argument from me on that one. I'd encourage you not make the mistake of lumping Biblical Christianity in with the pseudo-Christian religions that have sprung up over the centuries though. Having faith in Christ and what he taught is far different than believeing the rhetoric of man.
Finally, I doubt we've seen as true a Christian in office as Dr. Paul in a very long time. Maybe you ought to find out what he believes and what his statement of faith is before you go spouting off about the 'God stuff' as you put it.

it is my opinion that getting a clear picture on the political situation surrounding ron paul and the revolution has everything to do with religion. the bible is only one way that religion is recorded, and there are many many more, and unfortunatly this political situation of which you speak has everything to do with religion. i am not a bible thumper, but i have educated myself enough to know that these wars ARE about religion and the people on capital hill know it also as so advised just last night on c-span. if you think religion has nothing to do with your fight for freedom, you might want to do some more research. why are we in iraq now? because our government wants the iraqis to BE a certain way politically which goes AGAINST their religions.

The aliens weren't violent. You have to understand to over come the vastness of space to get here you have to be a much more advanced civilization. Humans Civilizations are only 100,000 years or so old. Imagine a 1,000,000 year old civilization. To have reached that age they would have had to become peaceful or else they would have blown themselves up once they split the Atom. Kinda like we are gonna do if that DUMB ASS W BUSH decides to use tactical nukes on IRAN and starts a nuclear ww.

Read Zecharia Sitchin's books! Look at evidence like Baalbek, The Nazca Lines, the Pyramids, the Abydos Temple Helicopter, Cydonia. Do we REALLY believe that we went from horse and buggy to nuclear weapons, genetic engineering and high speed internet basically within the last 75 years because human beings suddenly got smarter, or could it possibly be that we had some other type of stimulus or discovery that jump started the whole thing. If you look at the timing of the technological explosion it started roughly around oh...... 1947 or so. It's only a matter of time before the government will be forced into disclosure, but my fear is that the groundwork is already being laid to use any "extraterrestrials" as the scapegoat for the next unending "war on terror".

There may or may not be aliens, but there is no doubt that there is a government that lies and specifically lies about what technology it has. The vatican is just trying to cover up the disappearance of the Christians due to the Rapture!. This is also why we are hearing all the talk about aliens,ufo's etc... This way,they will be able to keep most of the control over the unsaved.

Seriously, we are planning this party. It is half a joke to keep hope in a world of dooms-dayers of various religious flavors. It is half serious. I have endured a lifetime of "Keep Christ in Christmas" when Christ was the usurper of this ancient traditional holiday. PLEASE at least consider the possibility that the training for your clergy is the same conditioning that goes on in the public education system. PLEASE read the documentation proving the clergy are being trained to teach the congregations to cooperate with martial law. PLEASE wake the rest of the way up. What if aliens created man? Then we must ask the question, who created aliens?
It's a nevernding debate. Did we all just come out of space dust? chemicals just happen to mix together the right way and life came about? Is it as simple as pure science? Or is there something bigger that made those chemicals come about to create life?
I don't think we'll ever know. You can't prove and you can't disprove it. People say god created man. People say evolution created man. What if god created evolution, and then evolution led to man?
The same argument can be said about any possible aliens. You just have no clue of knowing what really is the truth.
