Where's the Logic - Inflation measured not counting Food and Energy

I have never figured this one out, considering how much of our disposable income is spent on these two items.

This must be "Fuzzy Math"!

Any thoughts?

INFLATION

Inflation is best measured by comparing the amount of currency in circulation compared to the GNP/GDP. Rising prices are a RESULT of inflation. Inflation is the creation of new currency which devalues the currency already in circulation. The law of Supply and Demand takes effect. As the supply of money is increased, it is worth less. Any real economist knows that.

Unbacked paper money like federal reserve notes enable politicians to steal the wealth of the American people, just as counterfeiters do. Counterfeiters benefit by creating new currency, which enables them to buy more, while the rest of us suffer because the new currency reduces the purchasing power of our "dollars". When govertments do this, it is called INFLATION, but it amounts to the same thing. Too many dollars chasing too few goods.

The solution: a return to honest money - gold and silver. Politicians will resist any call for a return to gold and silver, as they are unable to steal from the American people. That's why the Founders declared in the Constitution that only gold and silver were to be legal tender. The American people have been betrayed by our politicians.

We need to vote them out and replace them with honest public servants.

Figures don't lie but liars sure can figure

Manipulated GDP Upward; makes your economy look better, stated objective in PNAC document was defense spense at 3.8% GDP so 3.8% of a bigger number is a bigger number - we can just keep going but basically if you knew that economic growth was flat to negative when real inflation was applied you'd know we shouldn't be spending mega bucks on anything; war, health-care........ playing with the numbers makes everything look possible...look being the operative word.

Manipulated Inflation CPI (Downward) keeps increases in Government programs-Social Security etc lower (freeing up more more for spending elsewhere ie-defense and it makes them look more solvent than they really are. As another plus, many a business bases raises on CPI so it helps business contain costs while screwing the worker. It makes most people feel better about the economy to be lied to. How would you feel if you knew inflation was say 10% and you only got 3% on savings/investment/cost of living increase. Feeling better causes the consumer to feel that it's okay to spend and, spending keeps the economy going.

Monetarists argue that the money supply (up or down) is key to inflation. So we stopped publishing that too now. We wouldn't want any disbelievers thinking that inflation was higher than reported by the Government.

Buckle Up .... when you look at budget deficits for the past few years that need to trickle into our economy and flat GDP ....there's some serious inflationary pressure on the horizon.

I could never comprehend why we would entertain National Health-care right now just for that reason. It has failed in California and is failing in Mass. as well. Even with high participation, Even with reductions in benefits there are too many people to cover without the ability to "print" money. Sates can't do that on the Federal Government can. We operate on 12 Million illegals nationwide but, that's old data....obviously more come every year and don't pay taxes. As we extend medical coverage to them and the rest of the uninsured we will have to borrow/print/tax. I guess both sides of the isle want it to alleviate legacy costs to business and expand the size and scope of Government immensely while entrenching a new level of socialism into our lives but with the cost of the war skyrocketing, inflation undeniably on the horizon already together with flat to negative growth in GDP and personal incomes.....how do you add more tax to that picture? It will bankrupt us but playing with the numbers makes the world our oyster (facilitates other lies).

The logic is...

...in not telling the people the truth.

Don't you see this trend within our government? And our corporations?

Cook the books to keep the people in the dark as long as possible... allowing the politicians and other elitists to get out before the sh*t hits the fan...

...leaving the American people out to dry.
