Anomaly West Virginia Primary-RP loses hundreds of votes

...Except I didn't capture any screenshots. Ron Paul's vote count went down, but so did McCain. It looked like it could have just been a mistake, yet I watched the counts for the rest of the night and one Paul dropped, he didn't really increase after that, yet McCain did. It looked very fishy to me. That was in more than one county, too.

When this happens, somebody needs to go to the local election official (or website) and ask to see the results they reported and make sure what they have agrees with the state election officials results.

Then, if you want, go to the media's website and check and see if their numbers match what the state reported.

The problem is that most likely the locals, who are probably friends of your grandparents or parents (depending on how old you are), are volunteers who do their civic duty and wouldn't dream of committing a felony. However, they can make mistakes, but they're likely to be small, and if not small, obvious.

They pass their numbers to the state. A state employee types them in. They may make typos. The press takes these numbers and they type them in. They can make errors, too.

The only way to deal with these issues is to "follow the votes," starting locally. I seriously doubt that someone has bribed officials from bottom to top, so if there is a discrepancy, you will find it.

We know there have been other instances of vote fraud in this election, but these screen shots are the best example I've seen so far.

This issue is addressed in the West Virginia civil statues under Title 153 Series 20 Procedures for Recount of Election Results (153CSR20).

Ron Paul would deliver to the county's Board of Canvassers, c/o the County Clerk, a written request for a recount within 48 hrs., excluding any Sat. or Sun., after the county declared election results. Recount would take place within 3 days following a recount notice which must be issued within 24 hrs. following the request. Ron would post a $300 surety bond which is effectively a token good faith security for actual recount costs. I do not know how the county assesses those costs. It could be by precinct, number of machines or ballots or by man hours. If by machine, the cost is likely on the order of $100 each.

The Board of Canvassers would recount ballots from 5% of the number of precincts, selecting them by random drawing. Recounting is a manual inspection of paper ballots (the first "count" being the machines' counts). Were Ron's vote total to change by more than 1%, the Board would recount the remainder of the precincts.

A recount would not change the state's delegate allocation. Huckabee took all 18 at large delegates in the 2nd round of voting at the Feb. 5th state convention. They were pledged to him, but they should be free to vote for whomever they want at the GOP national convention since Huckabee withdrew his candidacy. Alternatively, McCain won your primary's popular vote in each of the state's three Congressional Districts and he thus won 9 pledged delegates. There are 3 additional delegates who are unpledged but they are from state party leadership, so they are effectively in McCain's column.

That said, a recount (of the primary's popular vote) that might show that Ron and Huckabee held McCain to just over 70% would damage McCain's prospects. My guess is that the campaign would not be interested. Again, it doesn't change the delegate count and they would look like chumps were the recount results not materially different. It's a risk-reward thing.

Is it me or has this happened in at least 5 or 6 other contests, starting from the very beginning in Iowa. Once you can claim as a glitch, twice you can perhaps get away with calling it a coincidental glitch, but given the number of times weve seen this happen specifically to Ron Paul and have not noticed happen to ANY OTHER CANDIDATE so far (in the republican race) is a huge wide load of obvious bullshit.

so we're all mad and pissed off and have lost all faith in the system and have had documented proof from incident after incident of this happening. and what can a single god damn one of us do about it? nothing. we're powerless. Or at least apparently it would appear to be the case. us elections are worth just about as much as the corrupt people who report the tally.

So lets all slap a bumper sticker on the back of our car that we cant afford to drive anymore with 'support our troops' ribbons and 'USA' stickers, sit on our ass with our big macs, turn on fox news and let the neurons die just like rest of the people in this worthless excuse for a country :) (not bitter, honest.)

How about calling the aprox. 3400 who voted to verify their votes?

The whole process has been rife with fraud in every state, thusfar. I agree with the other posters here, that Headquarters should be up to their armpits in evidence by now...I just don't understand WHY the 3 Amigos aren't already in prison. All 3 have trails of illegal doings going back (in Hitlery's case) decades. What about the trail of dead and missing people following the Clintons and the Whitewater stuff...? Why aren't they in prison or the gallows?
The whole thing stinks....and why hasn't Headquarters spoken up...perhaps they're waiting until the right time to drop the bombshell>?
