Drug Civil War rages in Mexico
The violence along our southern border especially in the big cities such as Tijuana and Juarez is completely out of control as there have been 10 assassinations of police officials in the last 2 weeks alone including Mexican Federal Police Chief Edgar Milan, the big drug cartels are in full front assault against anyone who challenges their authority on the border and it appears nothing is going to change anytime soon. There is complete silence from the media and from elected officials, only Lou Dobbs is talking about it. The border security issue absolutely needs to be thrust back to the forefront of the presidential campaigns, no excuses.

If we legalized drugs
they would be shut down.

All by design
The powers that be want nothing lesss than a razor wire twenty story wall from end to end.... TO KEEP US TRAPPED! Then they can control the thru ways and shuffle their drugs thru the borders. This consolidates the drug trade. There is a heroine epidemic in this country. Afghan is the world leader in poppy production. The NWO controlled Taliban is the muscle to ensure they profit.
Does my burka make my butt look fatwa?
legalize all drugs....
If Mexico ended their drug war then the problem is solved. Criminals can only thrive in a black market environment, and they are also able to charge artificially high prices because of drug prohibition (you are essentially paying them to take a risk).
The dual effect would be that drug prices would experience a tremendous drop, and the only successful drug dealers from then on would be those with respect private property and voluntary association since they would be operating out in the open. The last thing we need is politicians getting their dirty paws into this situation, unless it is Ron Paul discussing the benefits of ending the war on drugs.
I agree
The funny thing is that if Drug Lords were legalized, and the drug lords were in control of the government enough, the Drug Lords would probably put someone in to power in the government and make them illegal again, or highly regulated, so that they could continue making the black market profit. Maybe ...
Just a crazy thought that had come to mind.
and this comes after
that stupid bill that they want to send money to the mexican police to clean up mexico from their side. watever.

It seems
like drug lords are so powerful. I'm not familiar with the structure of drug cartels, but they appear to be rogue mini-governments within the countries they inhabit. They could only get so big before bloody clashes were inevitable. I mean something too big to be called a gang war.
Hypothetical question, what would happen if tomorrow Mexico decriminalized drugs? The drug lords might well be the angriest of all. Drugs must remain illegal for them to stay in power unless they take over the government. It's a mess with no resolution.
Is it the coming trend?
Recently I was listening to a woman tell of her helicopter tour of Hawaii. At one point the copter just turned around and when she asked why the tour guide told her because that was where the marijuana was growing and if they flew over it they'd be shot at. Sounds like a rogue mini-government's air space to me.
Legalize drugs and you pull
Legalize drugs and you pull the rug out from under the drug lords COMPLETELY. Then tax the drugs so that rehabs and educational materials can be provided to folks that may get addicted. It also decimates the Mafia and Terrorist organizations that are funded predominantly through drug sales. Not to mention our prisons can stay full of murderers, rapists and pedophiles.....rather than them being let out on *good behavior* because the prisons are full of drug offenders.
why tax the legalized drugs?
Why engage in a State-run mafia style racketeering operation against private businesses? Taxes are a sham and a lie. Legalize the drugs, and never tax them, and while they are at it, lets get rid of all the other taxes as well.
It's happening along the
It's happening along the southern border. There's always drug lords running the south of Mexico. Nothing new unfortunately.
