Call The Neo-Con Bluff, Help Them Go Overseas

Often, the McCain supporters will attempt to state that they are fighting to win the war against Islamofascism and we are helping the enemy with our "calls for defeat in Iraq."

One of the most effective ways that I've found to debate the neo-cons, particularly those that have never served in the military or worked overseas, is to call their bluff.

As someone that has served in the military, and has done tours in the Middle East, as well as worked as a defense contractor, I can call their bluff and I do.

I offer to help them go overseas. I provide them with the location of recruiters near them. If they are too old or not able to enlist, I provide them with websites for various defense contractors. If they don't want to go that route, I suggest MWR and the USO. I offer to help them with resume advice.

I provide them my email address and offer to give them my phone number to call me anytime if they wish to go overseas.

I even offer to hook them up with a couple of my personal contacts if they talk to me first and I judge them to be of high character.

I offer to present any evidence that would not damage my personal identity to prove my claims of having been there, done that.

None have emailed or called yet.

Don't put up with any of their excuses for not fighting. There are plenty of ways to help with their war effort.

Help them get overseas.

I'm confident that anyone who goes over to, or near, the AOR will have a drastically different perspective after they come back.

Since most people who post on Youtube are in the 18-49 age demographic, and most are under 40, and you can look up their age in the profile, it's not hard to interrupt a session of bareknuckle smashmouth Jingoism with "Hey! You're only ___ years old...I assume you're over there now, or enlisting to relieve our troops in Iraq, who have families at home?"

I never receive a response to this, from even the most obnoxious Youtube commenters who support the war.

I try to avoid calling them CH's but sometimes it's hard. I'd rather be nice to them and try to really help them go overseas. It can be done.

I support the fight against the perpetrators of 9/11, but like Ron Paul, (and unlike Michael Savage - who I enjoy from time to time, I admit), I believe the Iraq War is a costly diversion that any true conservative should oppose.

Nonetheless, I've been to the Middle East twice as a contractor and I don't even support the Iraq War. So how hard can it be? There is absolutely no excuse, particularly if the neo-con tells you that they, unlike the Ron Paul supporter, would do anything to win the War.
