Around 3:20, Ron Paul says he wants to continue to convert people to constitutionalism, and says, "...so I won't be on a ticket in the fall". This was in response to a Bob Barr running mate question. But he didn't say "I won't be on a Third Party ticket". He said "..I won't be on a ticket in the fall".
He's in the race to educate, and he's doing a damn good job of it. But next year he'll be going back to Congress, not the White House.
Every interview, he says this more clearly. I think we should listen to what he's saying, instead of engaging in childish wishful thinking nonsense..! There won't be any turnover of McCain by our forces at the convention, and he won't be on a ticket in the fall.

I've also heard Dr. Paul say on several occasions that he is surprised at how far his supporters have carried him to date and how much has been accomplished. Remember the story of The Little Engine from your childhood...."I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....I Know I can." Effots are always more easily taken if one keeps a positive attitude. In the interim, lots of good is being done and Constitutional awarenss is being advanced. We live in such tumultous times, that even a few months can bring about very dramatic and even unexpected changes.
I think I can and if hoping and working towards a miracle makes me childish...at over 60, that's a good thing, imo. If everyone takes care of his/her little part of the world, our chances are much improved. For example, what happened here in Nevada has made it very apparent to me that Ron Paul has had a chance and he is being marginalized, purposefully, by the GOP (our own party with the "big" tent) and the media. The Engine in me says I have to take care of this little part of the world by trying to correct this situation and making sure my vote counts as well as the voices of the Ron Paul supporters in the State of Nevada so we are not disenfranchised.
I'm busy trying to take care of my little corner of the world. Dr. Paul keeps smiling, but remember his background beyond his service to his country is that of a doctor. It is almost a part of their training not to over-enthuse or raise hopes...a patient might sue saying you were not realistic or you "lied" to them on the prognosis. If anything I think Dr. Paul probably harbors hopes, but is trying to stay level, stable, and sludge on through this dirty quagmire known as politics for the good of the country.
I love the idea of Dr. Paul as President...right there with you, Kevin. Speaking of Dr. Paul's smile, do you ever feel it has a bit of a Cheshire Cat element to it...almost like he knows a secret? The NV Convention was the first time I saw him speak in person, and I expected to enjoy him...but, his presentation was so solid, so beyond my expectations. I only wish everyone could experience him first-hand...there would be no McCain votes.
I read somewhere on the Internet this morning that RP will be on a telephone conference call tonight at 9:00 PM EST. Does anyone know any additional information? I came to this web site to find out the phone number, but could find nothing.

When he sold out the gunnies.
IMHO he jumped it when he sold out the gunnies, about that time. (Did you notice that his previous presidential run tanked right after that?)
