The House just voted to 149 to 141 to cut off funding for the war in Iraq.

I just got this in my email from Truemajority. I can't find any other info on it. This was also in the same email:

This was followed by votes to put significant restrictions on President Bush's war policy, including a timeline for withdrawal, and creating a new GI Bill to help returning veterans.

Its good and all but I would

Its good and all but I would rather see a bill passed to limit Bushs authority to invade Iran. I feel if we with draw from Iraq any time soon they will just move on to Iran.

Just the rear-end-grabbers

acting in a way as to boost their ranks and win an election.??

Either that or...

Bush will veto it.

check NumberUSA for email RED ALERT today. In part below. If the report on this post is correct it may have been result of those of us fighting the amnesty attempt snuck onto this bill for Iraq funding. I've written NumbersUSA everytime they send out alerts to support the SAVE act, that I will not encourage my reps on it. It includes E-verify, proposed as a 'voluntary' plan for employers to check citizen status on ALL employees. It's a step toward eventual approval of Real-ID.

Alert From NumbersUSA:

(May 15) Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is expected to try to add an amnesty for illegal-alien agricultural workers to the Iraq supplemental spending bill when that bill is marked up today in the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Senate committee adds amnesty for 1.2 million illegal ag workers to Iraq spending bill -- PHONE NOW

DEAR FRIENDS,

On a 17-12 vote this afternoon, the Senate Appropriations Committee added Sen. Feinstein's ag amnesty to the Iraq supplemental spending bill.

This bill could come up for a vote before the full Senate tomorrow. .......

The Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday afternoon committed an outrageous act of disrespect for our men and women in uniform and to the citizens of this country by attaching an illegal-alien amnesty to the Iraq spending bill.

It's true

but I'm pretty sure Congress will eventually give Bush the money he wants. I would be amazed if they didn't. Here is an article about it:

I hope its true

Bring our boys and girls home from this illegal war

Don't get too excited.

The bill sponsored by the Dems was beaten by the Neo-Cons because it taxed people making 500k plus to fund college educations for service men and women fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Can't have that. So the Neo-Con Trotskyite Scum shot down the the bill that Der President Bush promised to Veto anyway.

But have no fear there will be a new war funding bill sponsored by the Neo-Cons without giving the troops any money for their education.
