McCain camp just sent this to my inbox....

My Friends,

We are all aware that next January, the political leadership of the United States will change significantly when a new president is sworn into our nation's highest elected office. It is important that the candidates who seek to lead our country after President Bush define their objectives and what they plan to achieve not with vague language but with clarity.

What I want to do is take a little time to describe what I hope to have achieved at the end of my first term as president. I cannot guarantee I will have achieved these things, but I am presumptuous enough to think I would be a good president.

By January 2013, at the end of my first term as president, America has welcomed home most of the servicemen and women who have sacrificed terribly so that America might be secure in her freedom. The Iraq War has been won and Iraq is a functioning democracy. The threat from a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan has been greatly reduced but not eliminated and there has not been a major terrorist attack in the United States since September 11, 2001.

The United States has experienced several years of robust economic growth and Americans again have confidence in their economic future. Congress has lowered taxes and passed fundamental tax reform offering a choice in how taxes are filed. Americans, who through no fault of their own, lost jobs in the global economy they once believed were theirs for life, are assisted by reformed unemployment insurance and worker retraining programs.

Public education in the United States is much improved and test scores and graduation rates are rising everywhere in the country. Health care has become more accessible to more Americans than at any other time in history.

The United States is well on the way to independence from foreign sources of oil; progress that has not only begun to alleviate the environmental threat posed from climate change, but has greatly improved our security as well.

Scores of judges have been confirmed to the federal district and appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, who understand that they were not sent there to write our laws but to enforce them.

Voluntary national service has grown in popularity in part because of the educational benefits used as incentives, as well as frequent appeals from the bully pulpit of the White House, but mostly because the young Americans understand that true happiness is much greater than the pursuit of pleasure, and can only be found by serving causes greater than self-interest.

This is the progress I want us to achieve during my presidency. These are the changes I am running for president to make. I want to leave office knowing that America is safer, freer and wealthier than when I was elected.

There are serious issues at stake in this election, and serious differences, but it should remain an argument among friends; each of us struggling to hear our conscience, and heed its demands. Each of us, despite our differences, united in our great cause and respectful of the goodness in each other. That is how most Americans treat each other. And it is how they want the people they elect to office to treat each other.

We cannot again leave our problems for another unluckier generation of Americans to fix after they have become even harder to solve. I'm not interested in partisanship that serves no other purpose than to gain a temporary advantage over our opponents. We are all compatriots. We are fellow Americans. I intend to prove myself worthy of the office, of our country and of your respect. I won't judge myself by how many elections I've won. I won't spend one hour of my presidency worrying more about my re-election than keeping my promises to the American people.

And now, I call on you to do your part in making this vision a reality. I am not presumptuous enough to think that I will be elected our next president without your help, and I humbly ask you today to make a contribution to my campaign of any amount to ensure my campaign is fully funded and able to take my message and vision directly to every American voter.

Sincerely,

John McCain

P.S. There are serious issues at stake in this election, and serious differences between the candidates. We will argue about them, as we should. If I am elected president, I will work with anyone who sincerely wants to get this country moving again. But I must be elected in November to do this, and that is why I ask that you join me by making a financial contribution so that my campaign can be fully funded to win in November. Thank you.

...... and I just

...... and I just flushed it down my round "outbox" ---- along with a little brown gift for the Great Albino Chipmunk himself.

Everytime I hear or see the "My Friends" BS

its makes me want to puke.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

McCain is nearly identical to Bush in all his positions except a little bit worse. Note that he talks about tax cuts while making no mention of what programs he's going to cut (certainly not the empire). So he's promising deficits even bigger than the ones Bush delivered. Oh boy, I can hardly wait. He talks about America's schools improving without seeming to be aware that there's no evidence that the $58 billion dollar Dept. of Education has done them any good, nor has the No Child Left Behind Act, and the federal government should just butt out of our local schools.

Mr. "100 years in Iraq" and "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" is definitely not going to be bringing the troops home in any finite amount of time. It's scary that he seems to actually believe in that "functioning democracy" clap trap about Iraq. When is America going to have a functioning democracy?

Neither McCain nor any of the other candidates has any believable plan for weaning us off foreign oil. I will say that any attempt to force the price down will make the problem worse, as it will only encourage people to burn more imported oil.

I find it odd that career politicians think they know how to "retrain" us for nonexistent jobs. McCain does want to keep bringing in plenty of cheap illegal labor, to ensure that whatever jobs do exist don't pay squat.

Anyhow, it's all a moot point. Americans will simply not vote for George W. Bush II. We will have a socialist sworn in in 2009.

keep this...

keep this for future reference. Then we can make 100,000 of them and mail them all to the white house as this country tries to crawl out of the rubble in 2013. "Gee thanks Johnny, you did SUCH a swell job. Eat **** and die."

Actually, by 2013, I'll be markedly surprised if we're not outrightly controlled by the U.N. in much the same way all the EU countries are controlled. They "think" they still have their sovereignty, but in reality they don't. They're totally controlled and their parliaments are just rubberstamp factories for Brussels. We will be much the same, but the problem is, DUMB AMERICA won't know the different, because the 299 million of them that don't "get it" are stupid enough to vote for one of the Axis of Evil.

Really?

I was just thinking we'd be getting all geared up for the second inauguration of Ron Paul, who would, of course, have won his second term in a landslide after the collapse of global war, central banking and Wolf Blitzer....

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

An Aerosmith song popped into my head when I read this...

Dream On....

--------
We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole worlds got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner
We can't pay the cost
-Steppenwolf 1969

Is it just me...

Or does this read like a 5th grade "why I would be the best choice for class president" essay?!

I also received a mailing

for a contribution to McInsane and I sent back a Ron Paul Flyer in mcInsanes self postage paid envelope.
I agree I will never vote for anyone but Ron Paul

lol i did that too! as for

lol i did that too!

as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

Are you sure?

We were told by McCain's unindicted co-conspirator, AZ Sen. Kyle, at the AZ state GOP convention that McCain will stop taking contributions from individuals and opt instead for millions of dollars in public financing for his campaign.

Maybe that kicks in only when and if he gets the nomination? Right now he's suckin' wind in the donations area. He's probably trying to raise enough money to go to the convention in MSP without having to mooch more money from his moneybags wife.

I got a letter...

I received snail mail from McInsane yesterday that was very similar.. I stuffed it with RP flyers and sent it back... Gotta love those postpaid envelopes!

He wants my donation???

Not from my cold, dead hands!!

Just for fun

*Puke*

Thanks, Sierra ... you

Thanks, Sierra ... you either have to laugh or cry when it comes to this man, I swear ...

One Lie After Another!!!

Who does this man think he is fooling? We have been hearing the same lies from criminal politicians every time there is an election.

The idea that Iraq is a functioning "democracy" is the first tip off of McCain's inability to face reality. The idea that our continued presence in the Middle East has somehow contributed to preventing another terrorist attack flies in the face of common sense. We would never have suffered the attack on 11 September, had it not been for our interventionist foreign policy.

The US experienced robust economic growth? By running up record deficits, borrowing a billion dollars a day, and printing worthless federeal reserve notes? American now have confidence in our economy? Sounds like John didn't take his medication today!

Fundamental tax reform: I guess that means that we are paying more taxes, right? Or are we paying less, and running even larger deficits? Or, did John restore Constitutional government? I'm not even going to dignify that one with an answer.

Public schools are much improved. Who is he kidding. And of course, everyone now has cheap, affordable health care!

The US is well on its way to energy independence. I heard that lie thirty five years ago by the criminal politicians of that era. It was a lie then, and it is a lie today. Big oil owns our politicians. That's why we are paying $4 per gallon.

Score of judges confirmed to enforce the laws, not write them. Indeed, what about the Constitution? Not one word about the Constitution.

National service has grown in popularity. This sounds like propaganda in Germany about the Hitler Youth.

Johnny goes on to say that he wants to leave the nation safer, freer and wealthier than when he took office. That is a sick joke. It is the Neo-Cons who brought terrorism to this nation. How are they going to make us safer? By attacking Iran? Or how about Syria? It is the Neo-Cons who are destroying freedom in this nation. They are creating a police state, all to "fight terrorism", they tell us. And prosperous? By destroying the dollar? By inflating the currency? Stimulating the economy with worthless federal reserve notes?

More lies for a typical politician.

McAss

is not a Republican

This is the part I have the biggest problem with:

"Voluntary national service has grown in popularity in part because of the educational benefits used as incentives, as well as frequent appeals from the bully pulpit of the White House, but mostly because the young Americans understand that true happiness is much greater than the pursuit of pleasure, and can only be found by serving causes greater than self-interest".

Betsy
PS seriously considering Costa Rica

While you're at it....

...check out Panama too.

Hey avg. joe..wazzup over there? (Panama)

Thanks,
Betsy

It's a pretty part, isn't it?

Let's translate it for fun... just run the sentences through the BS filter.

INPUT: Voluntary national service has grown in popularity in part because of the educational benefits used as incentives, as well as frequent appeals from the bully pulpit of the White House, but mostly because the young Americans understand that true happiness is much greater than the pursuit of pleasure, and can only be found by serving causes greater than self-interest

OUTPUT: We're going to draft your kids so we can do some things that will not only prop up our failed economy a little while longer, but we're personally going to make BANK in the process. Better your kids than ours!

blah

LMAO! EXACTLY! as for me

Hi Sierrah...I was simply ill informed b4 I met RP

In all actuality Sierrah,that is a 1/2 truth...I guess I have

to own up to the fact that I was a "dumbocrat"... key word being "dumb". (I get it.) I boycotted the last two "elections" on personal choice (there was none for me) reasons..I am so thankful though that I found somebody that I actually believe will represent me. Sierrah, there are a Lot of "dumbocrats" within the RP movement. Including me which says a lot for RP. That imho is a good thing.
Peace,
Betsy
