***DEBATING THE NATIONAL ID CARD****: Please click here!!!

Hey you guys!

So tomorrow I'm participating in this really big debate for my high school about the National ID card. Of course, we know which side I'm on (against, by the way =))

I already have my main speech down, but I need some help. What do I do to sound REALLY convincing? Like, this affects people's opinions, so I want to know what to do.

If you guys have any suggestions, bump this thread. I'm trying to make a change in my community through the youth movement. If you can too, please bump this thread.

Thank you.

Thank you for the article, I

Thank you for the article, I quoted both Bob Barr and Ron Paul in my speech.

National ID Card = Police State

A National ID Card is just one more sign of a police state. In a free country, the citizens are not subservient to the government. Our politicians are just elected public servants. They have no business knowing our personal and financial affairs. We need to know what they are up to. We need to find out what they are trying to do behind closed doors. After all, politicians make up the Criminal Class of every nation.

We should have biometric data on our politicians sent to every police station. They should be subjected to periodic drug tests. Their calls and e-mails should be monitored by independent auditors to make sure they are not involved in crooked deals, infludence peddling and terrorism.

No, it is our politicians who need to be monitored. It is our politicians who involve us in wars. It is our politicians who sell influence to special interests.

The National ID Card, when added to police state legislation like the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Ace, the setting aside of habeas corpus, the legalization of torture, the militarization of law inforcement, the laws to deal with "National Emergencies", seizure laws which violate the Fourth Amendment, the massive procurement of weapons by various federal agencies not involved in national defense, and of course, the ongoing effort to disarm the American people, should be a wake up call for Americans.

No real American would be willing to trade freedom for the promise of security.

Thank you so much, awesome
