Rove refuses call to testify under oath

A House Judiciary Committee deadline passed Monday with former White House adviser Karl Rove standing by his refusal to testify about allegations that he pushed the Justice Department to prosecute former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.
In his latest offer to settle the matter, Rove sent the panel a letter offering to respond to questions in writing, according to his attorney. But he reiterated that he would not testify publicly and under oath.
Committee leaders did not immediately answer questions about how they will respond. Earlier this month, they threatened to subpoena Rove if he did not agree to appear voluntarily by Monday.
The dispute is the latest in a standoff between President Bush and Congress over testimony from current and former White House staffers on a variety of issues.
The White House has balked at requests for staff testimony, arguing that the administration has no obligation to respond to congressional demands for the details of internal deliberations.

He should be arrested for outing a CIA agent too. If this was a regular citizen they would pile on all the alleged charges they could think of. And here this crook hides around corrupt lawyers.
It's time for citizen arrests and if that is not possible, we need to start holding trials in absentia.

If I were to be served a subpoena to appear in court on a given date, and I failed to go, then I would expect to see a sheriff's deputy at my door with a warrent for my arrest. I just don't get it. If the system works for me, why can't it work for the people on capitol hill? It seems to me that there exists a special set of laws for polititions. Man, it's almost as if there is an invisible "Shield" protecting Mr. Rove, and all of the Bush Administration!

That's why WE the PEOPLE need to just go snatch these ppl off the street and place them under citizens arrest. War Crimes, refusing to be subject to the law. Tons of things they can be charged with.

I think
the cosmic shift in the democrat party is US. They see part of the Republican Party standing up and being counted and it gives them hope that someone can actually fight the establishment. Maybe I think too highly of this movement, but I think I don't think highly enough.
