Hawaii Convention Update

Thanks for your comments. We have made this GOP script available to the media here. One young lady reporter appeared to be shocked when she was told what it was. I think the script will appear soon online. We will get it on some of the more prominent alternative news networks. It may be instructive in some ways to our cause. I think the main thing is knowing that the Linda Lingle machine is responsible for this McCain lovefest at the expense of fair elections. It is probably worse here than many other places. I was just told by one very polite Ron Paul supporter that he afterwords approached the state chairman, Willes Lee, who chaired the convention. At first, Mr. Lee just brushed him off, saying he was too busy, and walked away. Later, my friend was able to approach Mr. Lee when he was talking with a young woman, and waited his turn to speak. Mr. Lee at first tried to ignore him, but when asked if he could just have a moment of his time, said, "Okay, but make it quick!" My friend said that he offered to give him a copy of "The Revolution: A Manifesto" but Mr. Lee refused the gift, saying "Ron Paul is a racist and an anti-semite!", and walked away.

it is a point of fact that Linda Lingle just returned from the 60th anniversary celebration of Israel, proud to have been the only governor invited. Of course, she is pro-Zionist and a big fan of George Bush. When she stated in her intro speech "I love my state. I love my country." I wondered, which one? Ron Paul's non-interventionist, humble foreign policy, promoting friendships with all, and entangling alliances with none, is viewed by Zionists as highly inimical to their current very favorable situation with the U.S. Why allow any possibility of shaking that up? So how can we be surprised? I saw an opportunity to have my picture taken with Linda Lingle, and she called me by my first name, and vice versa. She is no doubt likeable, personally, very intelligent, and a powerful, persuasive speaker.

My own best friend is Jewish and her husband was raised on a kibbutz. There is a very strong cultural conditioning that many (most?) people of this family background carry with them. There is no negotiating away a completely reflexive fear-based survival mode when it comes to such folks' belief in Israel's need for existence (at whatever cost in recklessly aggressive, genocidal behavior of that state). No amount of money or political support would be too much in the eyes of those fully identified with this type of tribal defensiveness. There is really only one Holocaust that counts, in this view, ignoring so many other historic human slaughters equally horrific or worse, but not as well-publicized. Sorry about the soapbox, I guess I have red-flagged myself by saying this. Just see, though, how Dr. Paul is a victim also, of the cultural conditioning/victim identification of others. Chairman Lee comes from an Asian family background, and I'm sure the disturbances of racism are not unknown to those in his family, living in a Euro-dominant culture, despite Hawaii's reputation as a mixed-culture friendly place. And note how these poisonous views spread despite the best efforts of those more enlightened to educate and inform. Add in the inhererent dirtiness of politics (except of course for our hero Dr. Paul!) and voila. A bitter brew for all, until we can purge and cleanse the system.

Nelson Linder, the head of the Austin NAACP, who has known Dr. Paul for 20 years, staunchly defends Dr. Paul against charges of racism. If Dr. Paul were anti-semite, would he endorse Linda Goldthorpe for Congress? These rediculous smears are so retarded. Why don't we just debate the candidates' issues instead for a change? Thanks for being there, I just had to vent. I am a family therapist, and even we need someone to listen sometimes. . . .

could you make it available online?

Hawaii Convention Report

Some of you are probably interested in how it went in Hawaii today, as the voting for delegates was over only a few hours ago (it is the early hours of the morning, and we are still up, after some post-trauma group debriefing). This will be just a short summary, and we are planning to put more on the web soon. Don't get excited yet, it was disappointing. . . .
Inspired by Dr. Paul, a lot of us became active in the Republican Party here months ago, on several of the islands. This goes against the trend to begin with, since Hawaii is a largely Democratic welfare state, although it does have a GOP governor. We were inspired to bring new energy and dedication, what to speak of sound and ethical principles to a lagging and anemic party, which many would also call ethically challenged, through an infusion of Constitutionally-based energy.
Leading up to the convention this weekend, many folks volunteered to spend vast amounts of thier lives working on the platform committee. The planks, through emailing back and forth innumerable times, were discussed and a final revision for each plank was, of course, expected to be discussed, debated and voted for or against at the convention.
Well guess what. News flash: the party insiders not only did not appreciate that scores of new people were showing interest in participating in the Republican state platform committees as well as the delegation process, donating much of their time and effort to help out. Such a showing would dilute support for their chosen and anointed ones in their eyes. It would disturb the status quo. Suffice it to say that the outcome was decided long ago. Although we had a good and organized group, they had decided their colleagues on the mainland had made mistakes in "allowing Ron Paul's supporters to embarrass McCain", and came out swinging. We knew there would be a fight, and would have accepted defeat graciously if it had been a fair one, but it was certainly not at all fair.
First, Gov. Linda Lingle last week shot down all the hard work of the platform committees, who were trying to craft up-to-date versions of various planks such as Environment, Government, etc. We had about 6 of 20 or so participants in those committees, along with a lot of other reformers many of whom are now in our camp. In the end, after many weeks of dedicated and sincere efforts to improve the party platform, voting was held on whether to accept any revisions, and instead of discussion and fair voting by genuine platform committee members on whether to adopt these revisions, at the final moment Lingle made clear she was having none of these changes and padded the voting with party insiders being brought in at the end, who had attended no meetings or conference calls, just to outvote the reformers and keep the 2006 Republican Party Platform unchanged. The actual vote was 19 to 26. That was hard to swallow for who those who had worked so hard for many, many weeks.
Then, it was revealed today at the end that the reason why the floor defeated EVERY ONE of our delegates and alternates, despite our politeness and subtlety, is because the RNC had the state craft a script, and paid plenty for "fixers" to sit on and influence the proceedings. They organized an opposition to Ron Paul by simply calling a secret meeting a couple days ago which would change procedures in the delegate selection process favorable to them and unfavorable to us. They apparently assumed we could be beat if they actually organized, which turned out be only too true.
However, they played SO UNFAIR that it turned off even party stalwarts at just how terrible our people were treated. Most of them who got to know us liked us. One party regular, an older Japanese-American woman, was crying as she apologized to some of us after the voting. Their key? A SCRIPT that they had devised and followed, play by play, inserting motions to keep discussion and resolutions favoring a Constitutional Government squashed. They even paid BIG BUCKS to have a guy who co-WROTE the current edition of Roberts Rules of Order, sitting on the right hand of the chair!!!!! Just to make sure they had their moves right and timely. Fair? Maybe. You decide.
One infamous resolution adopted by railroading the opposition (us) was "to streamline the voting process" by passing a resolution that would have everyone vote for delegates and alternates all at the same time, under a bogus "Unity" platform. Preprinted ballots cited McCain at the top, and mentioned the names of the five other former candidates (insultingly leaving out mention of Dr. Paul's name altogether!). Only McCain was mentioned, only a film and photos of him were shown. They did allow us a table for literature outside the hall, but only his pledged supporters' names were on the preprinted ballot distributed inside. Confusingly, there was also a blank ballot provided, which we of course used to fill in our candidates' names, but there was no allowance for discussion of values, issues, or candidates themselves, that was voted down. Also, the way the ballots were printed, and the new method of "voting" was purposely confusing. We figured out how to fill them it with the help of our own list. But it would have been easy to slip up, especially as we were spread out over the hall, generally by geographical grouping, and their change of rules required many of our people to switch from Delegate to Alternate by 11:00 am that morning, a change which only the insiders had made, and had really known about. Outrageous!!!! The reason given by insiders for the preprinted "ballot" (which was vigorously objected to but overruled, of course) was to "avoid disruptions". Welcome to the land of tyranny, where your leaders are pre-chosen for you!
We have plans for fully exposing this corrupt "selection" process which will soon be revealed. We have a copy of the actual script, slipped to us by an insider, in our hands! We hope there will be plenty of outrage about the crooked, fear-based tactics which simply reveal the weakness of Hawaii's pitiful GOP, which have served only to weaken it further. Besides so many new people leaving in disgust, the old guard have so shot themselves in the foot. My husband and I, like many others who actually put plenty of money out to travel to Oahu from the Big Island and paid to stay here, and for the privilege of participating in the Convention itself, thinking it would be a genuine, welcoming marketplace of ideas, were sadly disillusioned to see that the whole thing was just a scripted drama with a foredetermined outcome. Even the outcome was scripted to have the chair decide the outcome of each prescripted vote ("The Ayes win", even though you could see the vote was very close). We were just unappreciated and dispensible bit players who they wished weren't there at all. Sad. No wonder the GOP is practically dead here.
There were plenty of other dirty tricks as well (such as several delegates' declaration of candidacy being conveniently lost) and on and on. More to come. . . . There is one more day of the drama (which they are certainly not going to script!). Keep tuned.

You need to post the script

Its possible that this script has been or will be used for other states. This story needs to find a local reporter/journalist with some backbone to run a story. The people of Hawaii need to know the truth of their Governer. Impeachment is possible, ask Gray Davis. Ther are eithical uneducated people that can be educated about the unethical corrupt playing with our grand childrens future. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Again and Again

Ron Paul and, We The People, his supporters, are being marginalized for a candidate who is actually quite unpopular, liberal, and who will prove to be a continuation of the Bush Status Quo. War, war and more war. Bush! Whose popularity and effectiveness is very, very low. What can the GOP be thinking? I'm thinking, they want to lose this time...that's the game plan and McCain is their scapegoat. McCain will get his face in the media everywhere much to his delight and that of his wealthy wife, and being such a friend to the Democrats, he has probably been promised a prominent place in the upcoming Democratic cabinet.

Some of these recent conventions resemble what one might expect in a communist country, or a ramrod election such as held in Zimbabwe. I understand that on the Beltway Boys this weekend they said there is Republican Spoiler who will disrupt the GOP convention. Would you believe they said Ron Paul not Bob Barr? I say we start a new comment: "Did you hear that there is a Republican Spoiler who will disrupt the will of We The People? John McCain, a candidate who few like and who the GOP Insiders are forcing on the public, is marginalizing the candidacy of Ron Paul."

Somehow, ladies and gentlemen, we have to get our country back. Now it is not a mater of the party at all to me...this is about a return of our rights and liberties...the sovereignty of the USA.

These GOP actions at the various conventions, including this report from Hawaii, are damning, imo.

IT'S DOABLE

Alpacas - IT'S DOABLE

If we are not allowed to break through,....this will come down

to armed conflict....It will be that or no more free country.....so either become a better communicator (ie using Roberts rules/speaking skills) or go to target practice and learn to point and shoot a gun/rifle...

"WHEN RULE OF LAW BREAKS DOWN ALL THATS LEFT WITH IS RULE OF FORCE"

I do believe we are seeing

I do believe we are seeing the old gop commit suicide.

WOW

Amazing story. Seems like you gave it everything you had. It's obvious that the whole system is rigged. This isn't democracy. It's plain old fascism.

When the people are actually fed up enough to stand up and do something about it we realize that the system was allowed to go unhindered toward fascism for far too long.

Excellent story. Wish we could sue someone for all the grievances we are being put through just as American citizens. The way our current system of "democracy" is setup should be illegal..

HAVE you not been listening?

HAVE you not been listening? The True Patriots are doing JUST that. Please join in www.givemeliberty.org/revolution.

You know on the other note..this must be the SAME way we "set up" leaders in the other counties that we interfere in. I have heart about us "setting up" puppet or other governments in other countries but now I am seeing it in action in THIS one...
