GOP insider divulges how party bigwigs have conspired against Paul!
Doug Wead, the beltway insider and former Bush senior operative who has recognized the Ron Paul movement on several occasions explains what he heard behind the scenes about how party big wigs worked against the movement.
This is really huge!

More and more...
...I'm convinced that the Republicans are going to lose, and not just lose, but lose BIG, come November. They are going to get their teeth kicked down their throat in a way impossible to spin. And more and more, I'm convinced this is probably the best thing we Ron Paul Republicans can hope for. The Party will be in complete disarray, and realize it's in no position to turn away potential help. It will also provide us an opportunity to say, as diplomatically as possible, "We told you so." The only thing that's going to crack the facade of these jackals is a complete national repudiation of Neoconservatism, and I think that's what we're looking at in November. Let's just hope enough of us hang in there to be able to effectively advocate for paleoconservatism in the Republican Party when that happens.
Thank you for posting this and for...
encouraging me in the process.

Doug Wead's reply to your comments
He seems to have gotten a lot of emails speculating about his post that he posted a reply.
I think we are showing him that the r3volution is alive and well.

Question
This may sound dumb but the writer wrote:
"Last week I appeared on a number of television programs and ended up in “the green room” with a couple of GOP luminaries. One of the party’s most famous and powerful Senators and a former governor who came within a hair of becoming the vice president. You can guess which television network it was. We each had a book to promote."
Question:
1. Who were the alleged luminaries?
2. Who was the 'powerful Senator' and former governor?
governor was Huckabee and I
governor was Huckabee and I think the senator was Lincoln Chafee, but I'm not sure.
the more I hear about Huckabee

It's about the GOP --Asking for honesty from CP/LP types
Doug Wead is a potential ally in the battle to retake and reform the GOP. This is old. But, it makes clear that the battle for the GOP was the Ron Paul 2008 battle plan, is the battle plan, will be the battle plan.

"What you are now, as a movement, is a new force within the Republican Party. And you have the opportunity to continue to bring people into the message of liberty and to the message of restoring the Republic. And you have the opportunity of moving that influence all through the Republican Party, if you've been involved in the delegate process. . . . We want you to move forward with this."

Our CP and LP factions are wanting to be called r3volutionaries without being revolutionary. Those of us who stick to the game plan are the future. Just decide. That's all anyone is asking you to do, but if you decide to go, you go alone. Stop riding Ron Paul's shirttails.

5/19/08 Having just finished reading the Doug Wead post I am amazed how accurately it describes the actions of the GOP tyranny we experienced 4000 miles away, on May 16 and 17 at the State convention.
Doug Weads post is uncannily accurate- I personally witnessed the GOP acting just as Doug's post describes and I personally spoke unabashedly, almost verbatim, in the same vein as Doug's post describes.
It is as though I wrote Doug Weads post!!!
The GOP is dead without Ron Paul and/or we Ron Paul-like republicans. We should not be surprised, but we are. We should not be disappointed, but are. We should be more patient, but there's so little time- the NWO is moving at light-speed these days and both parties are engineering the advancement.
Oh L*rd keep and protect true patriots safe in all their endeavors. G*D Bless America!
"If men, through fear, fraud, or mistake, should in terms renounce or give up any natural right, the eternal law of reason and the grand end of society would absolutely vacate such renounciation. The right to freedom being the gift of G-d....
At least it's some kind of confirmation...
I've always known but to it's so difficult to get confirmation on this type of thing. Especially from a reasonably reputable source.
I liked this part.......
"Anyway, somehow they got into a discussion of Ron Paul and how his supporters had the nerve, the gall, the cheek to show up at “their” respective Republican State Conventions and practically take over. Each man described to the other how through parliamentary maneuver and outright theft they had recently blocked the Paulistas from embarrassing the GOP by winning “their” delegates to the national convention. They passed these stories back and forth with great gusto and laughter and genuine appreciation for the political skill of the other.
“Well,” I interrupted, “Why was all that necessary in the first place? Who are these people? Why are they so popular? And why block them? Shouldn’t the party welcome such activists into the process? Is the party so insecure that it has to cheat to protect itself? And what will the people who got cheated think about the GOP? Is this a lost opportunity? Maybe the GOP got cheated?”"............................
I always look forward to Mondays. Mondays on Daily Paul seem to always have the best threads.
:-) I liked all of it

It makes a good read, but I can't find anything
to substantiate his claims. First of all, the most recent book I can find that this man wrote is January 2006. January 2006, Ron Paul was not running for President. Can anyone help me out here?

Room For Revolutionary Diversity -- No Room for Factionalism
Doug Wead has been associated with both Bush administrations. He's president and co-chairman of the Canyonville Bible Academy board in Canyonville, Oregon. He's a man with local connections in Douglas County, Oregon and national connections to religious figures, the media and roots in the Reagan presidency.
When I informally adopted a young man from Russia and made him part of my family, Doug Wead turned out to be someone you could rely on to put liberty and people first -- liberty before unthinking dogma and rules. We have never forgotten Doug Wead.
Today, our son has a wife, a smart and precocious three-year-old boy and a continuing determination to make a good life for himself in America. Most of all, he's succeeding -- thanks in part to Doug Wead. I have spoken with Doug Wead briefly in the past. I remember him and I hope he remembers us. This is a man that I say Revolutionary Republicans can count on now and in the future.
Let's not allow the GOP (locally or nationally) to ignore the movement. Stay involved with the GOP. This will make a difference over the long run. There are valuable allies inside the GOP, but they will not be found or join with us if we are splitting up into CP, LP and undeclared factions -- and that is EXACTLY what is happening right now. Figure out that the only power base we have is the GOP. Everything else is grasping at straws. If you don't believe me, try believing Ron Paul.
Remember -- "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you."
The truth is, they have stopped ignoring us and now they are laughing. The fight has not yet begun. They won't be fighting us until we rally the numbers inside the GOP and take the committees and chairmanships. Until that day, when a majority of elected and coordinating precinct leaders are Revolutionary Republicans, they will continue to laugh. They will continue to laugh at CP and LP campaigns. They will continue to laugh at factionalism.
We have natural allies inside the GOP. Even when we are marginalized inside the GOP, one ACTIVE member of the GOP brings more to the table than ten CP or LP members in terms of our struggle for Liberty.
Fight for liberty. Register GOP. Stay the course. Never quit.
Of course, you probably
Of course, you probably don't see the irony here: By promoting registering GOP, you are promoting factionalism.
This movement is bigger than the Republican Party.

Ron Paul -- A Faction of One
Define yourself. Who are you claiming to be? Are you R3volutionary or merely reactionary?
There is no irony to be seen. I'm sorry to find you so ill informed about the strategy of the Ron Paul Revolution. Ron Paul has said it. Stay GOP. That's the high ground in the struggle. That's the prize. After the GOP is ours, there is no reason for the CP or the LP to exist.
If you have chosen a different party, just recognize that it isn't a Revolutionary strategy.
Not likely
The Republican Party is unlikely to fully adopt the Libertarian Party ideology, no matter how hard we push. The numbers are simply not there for massive change within the party at this time. Give the GOP two or three Democrat presidents in a row... then they'd be more likely to change their tune. Libertarians make up a slim minority of Americans and can affect great things within the Republican Party, but unless the party wants to change, revolutionary change will not happen while they are in the majority.
Ah, the all-knowing one who
Ah, the all-knowing one who denounces a contrary opinion as coming from an "ill-informed" individual.
Always a sure sign of someone who knows what they are talking about.
Here's the funny part: Ron Paul has said that HE is not interested in running on a Third Party ticket and wishes to stay in the GOP. I don't recall him ever telling US what party WE should belong to...do you?

I just LOVE this quote from the linked article...
"I had one more question for my distinguished friends. “If Ron Paul is such a fringe figure and we are the mainstream of Republican political thought, then why is his book on the New York Times bestseller list, and ours not?”
Good question indeed!!!!!

oh wait... Jim Webb is a democrat...
and the news station doesn't work out... it had to have been FOX....
so, I think it was Huckabee and Lincoln Chafee or Chuck Hagel.
Keep working on this until you get it
I am dying to know with whom he was speaking.
excellent! It sounds then
excellent!
It sounds then like either Huckabee or Romney was there.... who was the senator? We should work to keep them out of office as punishment.
They were obviously on FOX... Huckabee has a new book out/coming out... so it was probably him since the blogger said they were all promoting books....
Could the Senator be Chuck Hagel? He's famous/powerful... and he has a new book out I believe.
Or Lincoln Chafee... he also has a new book out.
Who
was the senator?
Excellent article, btw. Wish I had a crazy uncle like that...
All we have to figure out is
what GOP governor and GOP senator have books out.
the governor was
the governor was Huckabee
the senator was either Chuck Hagel, or Lincoln Chafee
So presumeably
humble Hucakbee was mocking Ron Paul and his supporters...not surprised but also not expected. I find the man to be quite the phony - maybe he thought he was still on SNL.
I thought about Hagel too - but isn't he similar to RP on foreign policy?
But then again, politicians, blech.
The writer of the article has chutzpah.
Conspiracy and Conspiracy Theories
Some of you need to realize that conspiracies do exist. Conspiracies are real. Conspiracy theories are created by our opposition to descredit any who are trying to expose them.
Can anyone doubt that there was a conspiracy to silence Ron Paul in the media? Can anyone doubt that there was a conspiracy within the leadership of the Republican Party of ignore and discredit him? These are real conspiracies, just as the conspiracy to disarm the American people is real.
Conspiracy theories like "Global Warming", Y2K, the "Hole in the Ozone Layer, and nonesense like these are intended to distract Americans while their freedoms are being destroyed.
Conspiracy theories like the gold fringe around the flag, the idea that the income tax is voluntary, black helicopters and chem trails were created by our opposition to discredit us when we try to expose them. A lot of Americans are unable to discriminate between true criminal acts being perpetrated against us, and whacko, theories.
The North American Union is real. Does this qualify as a conspiracy? Is it two or more people working in secret, for an evil purpose? Then it qualifies.
Don't fall for conspiracy theories. It not only takes you out of the fight, it also discredits you. Learn to discern to difference.
No secrets,
no conspiracies; no conspiracies, no conspiracy theories. So it is all the fault of the secret keepers. And the secret keepers are the ones who will rail at the conspiracy theorists, so those who rail are definitely suspect. Government is not suppose to be secret. Not even knowledge of UFOs which apparently are now IFOs.
This was awesome!
I've been having a horrible day, but this helped a lot! Needed the smile... thanks for the post! I have sent this link to everyone in my address list. :-)
