GOP DISSIDENT ASKS TEXAS SUPREME COURT TO ORDER NUECES COUNTY GOP CHAIRMAN TO RELEASE RECORDS

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. A Republican delegate to the Nueces County Republican Convention held March 4, 2008 has announced that she has filed a petition for a writ of mandamus with the Texas Supreme Court asking that the court order County Chairman Mike Bertuzzi to release precinct convention records that would disclose the identity of delegates properly elected. Vanessa Cahill alleges in her petition that Bertuzzi illegally appointed unelected delegates and then refused to provide copies of precinct convention records that are public records and which would provide evidence of the extent of the improper appointments. She claims that the dilution of the voting strength of legal delegates adversely affected her rights to seek election as a delegate to the state convention. She claims that numerous unauthorized delegates had been seated and their votes were included in the process of electing delegates to the state convention.
Mrs. Cahill believes the only way to know the number of delegates who were added after adjournment of the precinct conventions is to have full access to all precinct convention minutes within Nueces County and Mrs. Cahill asks the court to grant a writ of mandamus to make these records accessible.

I am a Texas delegate going to our state convention in June. I figure it is going to get pretty nasty.
It is good to see our south Texas folks standing up for what is right!

same here. maybe we can get some kinda info thing going to recognize each other.
I've been trying to get ahold of the county chair since the county convention and can't get ahold of him for nothing. Their answering machine is full with a message back from Feb 8th or something and they've not called me back from the note I left on the door. Only time I got ahold of someone was once on the phone a few days after the convention a lady answered and said she was the only one there and was busy certifying the results from the county convention to send to state.
I just want to talk with, and maybe even hold Weekly meetings with all the local Republicans of any stripe I can. Went to last pachyderm meeting but it's just once a month during lunch... can't do much there and won't be another before State.
I don't know what to do except stand and try to be counted. Am no expert on Robert's Rules, nobody to practice with, so I'm not going to be one to make any waves, but if I happen by some chance to actually understand what's going on I'm not afraid to speak up.
This is my first rodeo. I'm just watching I guess, even though I know I should be and could be doing more I just don't know what. Wife and 3 kids to feed, 8 to 5 hourly job... I just don't know what.
