Dr. Paul banned from Colorado GOP Convention?
From an ongoing email exchange.....

Dick Wadhams and James,
Jim and I would volunteer more time if this were an honest campaign. We are shocked that Rep. Ron Paul, who is a lawful candidate and the favorite of the American people has not been invited - and instead - you have invited Mitt Romney - who has been active in destroying American birthrights such as the right to bear arms!
Jim and I wear our Ron Paul buttons every day and it is the only button for any candidate that draws favorible comments from many strangers. As soon as they recognize the candidate we are supporting, they 'open up' telling us how they want to see America restored and we become immediate friends. For instance, at a new hardward store the other day, the cashier who was Hispanic said she was pulling for Ron Paul. Her reason was her belief that anyone who enters America should do it lawfully!!!
When we went to visit our CPA the other day, his wife, a long time Democrat and Colorado State Legislator for 14 years met us at the door and her first question was, "How are we going to get Ron Paul elected?" We have heard NO favorable comments for any other candidates!!! Ron Paul was the only candidate invited to speak at the huge motorcycle gathering at Sturgis, So. Dak. He is the only candidate that draws standing room only crowds everywhere he goes.
At the Boulder County Assembly - there was not one McCain sign - instead there were a sea of signs for Ron Paul.
If Ron Paul is not invited to speak at the Colorado State GOP Convention, we will see it as a 'rigged' affair. Jim and I, like millions of other Americans, will only put our creative efforts and financial support behind Ron Paul. We will NOT support any candidate like McCain and Romney who are willing to destroy America from within by destroying our rights and liberties and encouraging breaking the law with amnesty proposals. Their kind of corruption breeds more corrption!!!
Sincerely,
Janet and Jim M.
Let's send Dick some encouraging emails.

Beautifully written and to the point...
My Hubby and I agree wholeheartedly.

I Don't Trust Bob Schaffer's
I've seen Bob Schaffer speak at numerous Republican breakfasts.
He has two speeches depending on the audience:
1. A "pro-war" speech
2. And a "new voter" speech
The second speeck appears to be directed at young people and RP activists, because he pays lip service to "monetary policy" and the declining dollar, very briefly, in the middle of the speech.
When there's no visible RP support in the audience (back when we were stealth) Schaffer repeatedly insisted that we have to support McCain.
At one meeting, someone basically pointed out that McCain does not have the nomination yet (by the way, Bob Schaffer has been violating the Colorado bylaws of pre-primary neutrality because of this behavior) and he said he'd never vote for Ron Paul.
This is a real shame too, because he's fiscally conservative.
He probably could have gotten a lot of RP supporters to help with his campaign if he had not been such an ass.
I called Dr. Paul's home and spoke to Carol
First, I called 800-236-3769 (another number for the CO GOP HQ) and asked to speak to Dick Wadhams. Whoever answered told me that he wasn't available. I explained to that person that I was calling to request that Dr. Paul be allowed to speak at the CO GOP state convention on 5/31/08. He told me that Dr. Paul had not expressed an interest in speaking at the convention. I told him that I would ask Dr. Paul to call Dick Wadhams.
Second, I called Carol and Ron Paul's home phone number. I'm not going to publish it here. You can find it on whitepages.com. Carol answered. I told her my name and why I was calling. She told me that Ron is in D.C. today, but that she would convey the information to him.
I think it's likely that Dr. Paul will call Dick Wadhams today or tomorrow to request an opportunity to speak at the CO GOP state convention. If you call Wadhams tomorrow (5/22/08) or later, ask him if he's received a call from Dr. Paul.
Carol told me that Ron will not be allowed to speak at the Republican National Convention unless he endorses McCain. We know that isn't going to happen.
I tried to become a delegate here in PA, but I didn't make it. I submitted an application to be a volunteer at the convention so that I can be inside the convention center. You can do that, too, by going to this web site:

We will be at the rally Next
We will be at the rally Next door where it will be more happenin' than anything the RNC could ever dream of.
Inside the Convention Center
The idea of being inside the convention center is to get national media coverage for Ron Paul. The RNC is looking for 8,000 volunteers. Can you imagine what we could do if 2,000+ of those volunteers inside the convention center are Ron Paul supporters? When McCain gives his prime time acceptance speech, we would all be shouting, "Ron Paul!, Ron Paul!" And, we would not stop shouting all night!

Dick Wadhams
I just called Dick Wadhams office at 1-720-377-1600 and asked if he, (they) would be inviting Congressman Paul to their convention. He said NO. The speaking engagements are for McCain and Romney only. I question him on why they would not allow the only real republican a speaking slot and he quickly hung up.
I am proud
To be in such great company. Marvelous letter.

We can all say what needs to be done, but who here led by example today?
Beautiful letter Janet and Jim. Thank You and good luck.
What Dick Wadhams, et al. are doing is disgusting, despicable and dishonest.

Old Times Gone - New Times Upon Us
The party is just about over for the old GOP. Read this insightful article by Noonan and the picture becomes quite stark. Old non-thinkers like Dick W. need to retire and hand over the reigns to younger more in touch doers and shakers. The world has changed and left the old fogies in their out-dated memories....

Big picture, May 2008:
The Democrats aren't the ones falling apart, the Republicans are. The Democrats can see daylight ahead. For all their fractious fighting, they're finally resolving their central drama. Hillary Clinton will leave, and Barack Obama will deliver a stirring acceptance speech. Then hand-to-hand in the general, where they see their guy triumphing. You see it when you talk to them: They're busy being born.
The Republicans? Busy dying. The brightest of them see no immediate light. They're frozen, not like a deer in the headlights but a deer in the darkness, his ears stiff at the sound. Crunch. Twig. Hunting party.

The Republican Party of the
The Republican Party of the popular imagination--the Ronald Reagan conservative image--is as dead as Lenin's coffin nail.
The Republican Party scorned by paleoconservatives like Pat Buchanan and Lew Rockwell--the "War Party", is alive and well.

What a great letter.
Thanks, for posting this. It's good to be among people who think like you.
I think when gas getting to about 5 dollars a gallon our club will get bigger.

Let 'em know who we are - real Americans
Thanks, Dale, for 'putting it out there'!
Hopefully that will spur many, many people to write to Dick W.
We may have to send another shorter one asking why the Colorado GOP has not invited Republican and Presidential Candidate Ron Paul, the author of #1 best selling book “The Revolution: A Manifesto”!
Seems like they are missing the chance of supporting a winner instead of a looser!
Hugs,
Janet
Write to Dick and let him know the old GOP is headed in a wrong direction. They need to be backing a champion for America instead of the nefarious foreign NWO/Neocon con:
dickwadhams@yahoo.com
The CO GOP
talks out of both sides of its collective mouth. I'm sure it's the same in other states as well. They say to our faces that they're not trying to shut us out, but it's been shown that there is an organized effort on their part to squelch our efforts on behalf of Ron Paul. This two-party system is such bullshit, but unfortunately we're stuck with it. So in order to participate in the political process, we're going to have to take back the GOP from the neocons, which they stole from us many years ago.
Why are we stuck with it? We
Why are we stuck with it? We need to get away from these labels that mean nothing.
If we started our own freedom movement, independent of the Republicrat Party and had it well financed, I think we could attract a ton of independent and conservative democrats to our banner.
It's kind of like infrastructure
If there is a way to modify what we already have, it usually results in a quicker and less costly solution. As far as the current election cycle, we are definitely stuck with the two-party dance. I would love to see the entire political system completely scraped from the landscape and reconstructed. Even more, I would love to see a passionate revolution that would restore this nation to its republican roots. That could happen. But if the two-party status quo cannot be shaken off, then we must control one of the parties and the GOP is our best bet. If the neocons were purged from the GOP with extreme prejudice, it would provide that banner you speak of that people can rally under. Personally, I am very angry with the GOP in its current incarnation but trying to think in practical terms. There is a political vehicle (GOP) sitting at the curb with the motor running and a few frat boys inside laughing and having a party. We kick those frat boys' asses and then drive that vehicle off to do the work that they've been ignoring all these years. If only it was that simple.
Colorado state Chairman...
Several other Pennsylvanians, myself included will be contacting Dick Wadhams office today to urge him to let Dr. Paul speak at the Colorado convention.

Dick is the campaign chair
Dick is the campaign chair for Bob Schaffer, who once served in the Congress with Paul. Bob's running for US Senate and often talks about the inflation tax and the validity of debt based money.
Since Dick is also the State Chair of the GOP, he could easily invite Dr. Paul.
PEOPLE IF WE CAN SEND 8000 EMAILS TO A RADIO STATION ./..
TO GET RON PAUL ON THE AIR... We can do the same for the Colorado State GOP.... CALL , EMAIL, LET THEM KNOW WHY YOU WANT HIM THERE!!!!
And what's really funny about this
Just a sidelight, but the GOP has been using Romney to shore up support for McCain in states where Romney far outstrips the "presumptive candidate" McCain in popularity.
And despite that fact (and the fact that he dropped out and endorsed McCain even before Huckabee) Romney will never be given the V.P. nod.
How do I know? Because Romney is not a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Huckabee is.
I wonder who McCain will pick as a running mate?
How do you know that
How do you know that Huckabee is a CFR member and Romney isn't? I certainly don't doubt you; I'm just asking for a source. I know that Huckabee was invited to give at least one speech before the CFR back in September (this was what gave him a sudden surge in the polls, I'm sure) and he's written at least one article for Foreign Affairs magazine. I was under the impression that they were pretty much all CFR members (except of course Ron Paul). Is there a list of current CFR members?
CFR members
The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) regularly publishes its membership list on its own web site. While the list is not always found, it is posted often enough.
Well, I don't know about
Well, I don't know about this party, now or in the future. I did, however, look at rules in our state for starting a new political party, just for the heck of it. It seems you need signatures that total 3% of the amount of nominated electors in the state..lol. Can't figure out how many that would be, but 3-6 seems likely..LOL
I was just musing how we could start a new party simultaneously in every state, pushing writing RP in on every ballot whether he likes it or NOT! Mmmmmmmmmuuuuuuuaaaaaaaahaha..
..just kidding..
possible
"Grandchildren of Liberty"?
Good
Hopefully many others will also write. The party is disenfranchising the American people and I just don't see how they can do this.
