The Tone of the Revolution.
Are We Principled or Do We Compromise and Negotiate?
The time is now, to set the tone for the Ron Paul freedom movement; Will it compromise, or it will hold its integrity? The choice is ours, but I'm afraid that if we choose to compromise, we will have already failed at our task of restoring the Republic.
Most movements disappear into the pages of history after they have been co-opted and its ideals have been watered down by the establishment. Whether this happens by design or accident is unimportant; What is important is that we learn the lessons of history and not let this happen to our precious and timely revolution.
History gives us the lesson of the Goldwater movement, which was much like our freedom movement now, but in the name of pragmatism accepted false conservatives into their movement. This resulted in the election, many years later, of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) controlled Ronald Reagan. A man who spoke beautifully about America and freedom, but who brought over 250 CFR members into his administration, and who spent more Federal Reserve notes than the proverbial drunken sailor.
Another immediate example of this dilution of ideas and purpose is the Libertarian Party which started as an example of classical liberal ideals, but its platform now resembles more that of the GOP than that of the classical liberals. This could be us, in a few years from now, a shell of what we used to be.
Time is not on our side, the constitution is disappearing day by day. We have one chance to restore the Republic and it is most likely now or never. The question in front of us is; Will we take Ron Paul's example and be an uncompromising freedom movement, or will we compromise, negotiate and barter our freedoms away?
Integrity is the only thing that scares those that act against the constitution, for it is our only effective weapon. We must summon every ounce of valor and know that acting with integrity, even though more difficult, is our only chance to restoring the Republic. There are no short cuts, no magical alliances to make, no favors to be gained from those who wish to enslave us, or by selling out or compromising.
Let's accept nothing less of each other and our self proclaimed leaders, than complete adherence to the Liberal ideals spoused by the founding fathers, whose legacy made us into the most prosperous nation in the world.

Does it matter what party you work from?
I saw a video from Ron Paul the other day and he said the revolution was continuing...some in the GOP, some in the Libertarian and Constitution Parties...he said it didn't matter to him..he was fine with all of them as long as we are reaching the goal. Can we shed the internet and move out into real person to person interactions to build significant community?
Can we raise the level of the discussion so that the knee-jerk anti-war voices and potheads don't continue to give people an excuse to ignore the message? (e.g., there was a post on here with an article by a Lebanese woman who basically argued that "Islamic terrorism" justifies the so called "war on terror." There was no reasoned response to the piece from this online community, and the post disappeared within a matter of hours. Even RP agrees that "Islamic terrorism" is a problem, and if all we can say to such an argument is "that's a bunch of crap, man," then it will be no wonder that we remain a fringe movement.)
In short, if the constitution can only be restored by an educated and vigilant populace, then we have to create that populace. Can we do it?

I don't think the presidency would be much of a long term remedy in any case. Of course it would be great, but from a more realistic point of view, we must begin with something of value at the local level, and show some significant numbers there.
We must build some sense into (a broad based portion of) the population. When you see local governments giving respect to individual freedoms, then we can start to talk about forcing the national government to respect freedom and the constitution in a realistic way. But with the tiny numbers we have now, I'm afraid all we can do at the moment is work to increase awareness, and the time has come to focus on the local level.
Let this one die folks . . . it's a CP cheerleading section.

Boris knows his history. Looking back, you can see how one compromise after another has resulted in the mess we see today. All they do is exchange their ideals for power. This will not happen with the Ron Paul movement because it is about the dissolution of power! Ron Paul does not want power, he wants less power in government. So we can't compromise, and we must keep trying to cut back the size and power of government - never quit, no exceptions.

brokered convention are nearly zero. But that does not affect my determination to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get. But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of
course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican

The way I see it is; there
The way I see it is; there is no compromise. All of us that are here, are here for a reason. We see what is going on and we want a "change" (I used quotes because Obama ruined the word). We realize the size of government is destroying the constitution, and that realization alone forces us to never quit. If you understand your rights and understand that they are being taken from you, you are in this for the "long haul". This movement does not live or die with one candidate, it lives and dies with it's supporters. There is no "Oh crap" situation (referring to a "lesser of however many evils" situation). Either you adhere to the constitution or you don't. This is a very educated (for the most part) group of people that have gathered (or rallied) in the name of this cause. There is no wavering in the ranks, and there will never be (which is extraordinary). We will be the ones who are the example...someday.

Stand for what the Republician party used to represent. Dont settle for less. Overthough the convention, on principles and Morrals.

I have learned so much
about what it is to be an American citizen since I discovered Dr. Paul. I also learned that once you start compromising your principles you risk losing your identity. It would be great if we stayed together but I think if people find themselves moving in different directions that they are more motivated than anytime in their lives. I hope they would be willing to speak up get involved and be aware. Like someone says "What would Ron Paul do" When we take one man's free speech away, we take everyones free speech away. The whole point of the essay is to be watchful of those who would put on just a veneer of freedom to fulfill their own agendas.
Integrity is the only thing that will keep us true. The Goldwater movement was compromised by Reagan, because they compromised for someone who as a governor had not followed the freedom agenda.

Would you fund an “ecological” army with directives “to respect all living things and creatures, not to be sacrificed at the alter of any government or ideology”.
Really? You want a better world? Then start with your local terrorist. They are called city planners and blind developers; they are called doctors who shove pharmaceuticals down your throat. They are your fellow citizens with their heads in the sand. They are called local elected officials that take bribes and sneak in ‘last minute” agendas. Get serious. And before you make any choice, the first question is, how does it impact local accessabiltiy to quality foods. You know, like for every oil well, drill a water well for the people. For every suburb, bring back the local truck farms as you paved paradise. This will automatically control excessive population growth. The following paragraph is you’re greatest weapon and you can do it now.
Choose to eat a plant-centered diet. Eat more organic, locally grown vegetables and grains, less meat, less dairy. Eat as close to vegetarian as you are comfortable with. Make the proper food and exercise choices and you wont be so sick, and can think more clearly and have more energy for this global movement.

In everything we do we should continually pause and ask ourselves, what would Ron Paul do?
Does he compromise when it comes to the Constitution? No. He always votes his principles....Always. By now most of us know where Ron Paul stands on all issues. He never compromises and neither should we. Not on the issues, not on who we vote for, not on our future. We will no longer settle. We will not compromise. Compromising has been the problem. We are on a mission for as long as it takes. We will continue to watch Congress. We will continue to learn, and read, and be involved.
We are in this for the rest of our lives. Are we not the most knowledgeable voting group in America? No one, I mean no one, can out debate us on the issues. I believe, where the issues are concerned, we understand more than our elected officials and the media. This is all due to Ron Paul. Revolution more important than Election
The government to surely follow this upcoming "election" will not be substantially altered by the figure head named "President". BUT... the Revolution IS stirring hearts and minds which will surely influence upcoming government in countless and unforeseen ways for many years to come. Keep an attitude of celebration!

We are now on the republican committees, ran for delegate and other offices, had debates with a ton of people, raised millions, cried, laughed, written a hundred blog comments and letters, knocked on hundreds of thousands of doors, called radio stations, put ron's book at #1, and virtually taken over the blogosphere....I was a painfully shy and self-conscience person before this and now I feel so confident and purposeful. There are those that have dropped off the meetup groups, but just as many new people are reached each day. I think we are better people for going through this difficult process. Doesn't it make you feel good that you are doing something? Didn't RP have to run a couple of times before he was elected in the early days?
I agree with this assessment. Dr. Paul represents a body
of thought that has not been seen in the GOP for a very long time. There's been plenty of disappointment and there will be plenty more.
COMPROMISE will be the END of this revolution!
You guys talk a good deal about principles and integrity and having balls. But when the day comes and they package Schwarzenegger, or Ventura or Bob Barr in freedom clothes, will you have the balls to stand up and say, no... I WANT THE REAL THING and NOTHING LESS?
This revolution already happened with Goldwater. It might even have been bigger. What did the "freedom fighters" do? They elected Reagan, a false conservative who gave full control of the nation to the CFR and their strong-arm the CIA.

Is proof the movement lives on. You may wish to control the "integrity" of it, but you can't! That's NOT Freedom. The principles will be watered down as more and more sign on. It is inevitable and unavoidable. It's up to "US" to steer the boat, and keep the focus. WE ARE THE CORE.

Ron Paul's candidacy for president was what brought us all together. We were superenergized after the Guy Fawkes Money Bomb, when we realized we had the raw material to actually win.
Since Super Tuesday (thanks, Diebold), all focus has gone out the window. There is no leadership, and we are badly in need of some.
Ron Paul's star is still rising, and we are still winning on many fronts. But the odds that he will be President of the United States are extremely low.
There's a lot of squabbling and it's getting louder everyday. I take that as a bad sign.
We're winning the intellectual battle, make no mistake. But I worry that without the prospect of Ron Paul on a ticket in November, the movement will break up and dissolve--much to the delight of the Republican Party establishment.
