FLDS Partial Victory

SAN ANGELO, Texas - A state appellate court ruled Thursday that child welfare officials had no right to seize hundreds of children from a polygamist sect's ranch on April 3.

It was unclear how many children were affected by the ruling. The state took 464 children into custody, but Thursday's ruling directly applied to the children of 48 sect mothers represented by the Texas Rio Grande Legal Aide, said Cynthia Martinez of the agency.

The Third Court of Appeals in Austin ruled that the grounds for removing the children were "legally and factually insufficient" under Texas law. The ruling did not immediately order the return of the children.

EVERYONE CALL CPS NOW!!!!!! PUT THE PUBLIC PRESSURE ON THEM!!!! MAKE THEM SQUIRM!!!!!

POST THE NUMBER PLEASE!!!

Are these people dense?

CPS spokesman Patrick Crimmins said department attorneys had just received the ruling and would make any decision about an appeal later.

"We are trying to assess the impact that this may have on our case," [CPS spokesman Crimmins] said. [Um, by impact do you mean "blown out of the water"?]

Even before Thursday's ruling, the state's allegations of teenage girls being pushed into sex appeared to be deflating.

Of the 31 sect members CPS once said were underage mothers, at least half have been reclassified as adults - one was nearly 28 years old - and an attorney for a 14-year-old girl said in court that she had no children and was not pregnant, as officials previously asserted. It is expected that more mothers will be reclassified as adults in coming days.

I realize there is more to

I realize there is more to go But I am so happy it has gotten to this after the State of TX flagrant abuse. I'm still holding my breath but I feel hopeful. Thanks to alaskaron and mefleabyte for keeping me updated. I didn't post much on your threads because I felt like I was being redundant but I kept up with all you wrote.

krmaya, thanks for your support

it is very satisfying to see the Ron Paul troops rallying to the moral support of the FLDS people. It literally brings tears to my eyes when I think of how good the Ron Paul folks have been, calling up the Texas authorities, writing letters, signing petitions, going on talk radio, etc. It has renewed my sense of hope that maybe some people do care about the inalienable rights of all persons.

thank you, krmaya and everyone else, from the bottom of my heart. it means so much to me to see you good folks caring about this matter.

purity within words

as a Polish Canadian Christian Humanist...I shall always fight for your rights...
being a Ron Paul supporter
I say it is possible to smash the military industrial complex/wars...

RP08 to restore the Constitution

Reading the writ....it does

Reading the writ....it does order the Department to cancel the temporary orders that gave custody to CPS.

Otherwise, the appellate court will compel them to do so.

this is outrageous

Yes you are outrageous

Mr. Constipation: You are clearly compensating for lack of manliness I am certain. You think you are funny. But really you are very sad. A sad, pathetic little man.

The great thing is we can overwhelm you in an instant, so go ahead and make yourself feel important. Make yourself feel like a real man.

Spend your entire Memorial Day in your mother's basement "skeet shooting" as you call it. Those of us patriots on here will be back after we are done celebrating the holiday with our families (ever hear of those? you should get one, it would make you a much happier person) and post all of the pertinent information once again.

You can try all you want to silence truth, but you only come off looking like a major jerk.

I pity you.

my Parents are DEAD

Thanks RON !

...my Fathers name was Ron.

how could you

...And result to name calling. I bet you have "the worlds greatest dad" mug too.

I don't know what to say.

No one called you any names. Get over it.

Some nerve you have, Const. You have the nerve to come around these parts and slander me and others with statements like: "Your 45% dedication to RP, but its 110 or go home"?

Them's fightin' words, Constipation Kid.

45% dedication? 110% would be an understatement of my dedication to RP. I've put in literally a thousand hours or more over the last 10 months or so, on behalf of Ron Paul. Thats in addition to working a full time job, supporting my family, running a small business, and spending time with my wife and children.

Until you know the great lengths I have gone to as a Ron Paul supporter, I suggest you knock off the crap. I've been a district delegate; I got elected as a state delegate; I've canvassed door to door; I've been a precinct leader; I've waved signs (opposite Huck and Mitt sign-wavers) at busy intersections at 40 degrees below zero. I worked at RP HQ doing voter ID phone calls. I was a District Coordinator for the RP official campaign. I participated in the highly successful and much-discussed DVDs for Alaska Delegates project, including as a content contributor and stuffing DVDs and addressing hundreds of packages. I've been named the assistant treasurer of a PAC designed to influence national convention delegates, and on and on and on. Thats just the stuff I remember off the top of my head.

I've done more to support this revolution that you would like to think. I don't come here to toot my horn or mention any of this however because there is no contest, or shouldn't be, among us posters.

I hate that I had to mention this stuff, because it is not my nature to boast or brag. I am not interested in accolades or praise. But I take offense when some trolling basement-dwelling forum-warrior comes in and accuses me of being a 45% supporter of a man who to whom I had literally dedicated nearly half of my waking hours over the last 10 months.

Alaskaron, he was just saying that stuff to bump these FLDS

threads and flood the board earlier so he could complain about it and get people mad about all the FLDS threads.

Don't know if you saw the thread he constructed to blame several people, including you and Rhino for bumping them. (his accusation thread disappeared, though)

I caught him and posted a thread so it would stop.

Yeah, I finally noticed that

thanks for your thread, Stephan. I can hardly believe how juvenile this character has been. He clearly is new to the internet and has no clue of how netiquette works. Oh well.

My children like the Thomas the Tank Engine books and cartoons. When the engines in the stories are behaving well and contributing their share to the work that needs to get done, they are being "useful engines", to which they all aspire. Occasionally some of them behave poorly and get chastised for it, and are asked to try harder to be useful engines.

IveSeenTheConst is not being a useful engine at this point.
