Q: Is Ron Paul still attracting new supporters? Post if you're new!
Are new people still being attracted to the message of liberty?
Post if you're new (last few months say) and how you came across Ron Paul.
It'd be cool to know!

Long-tine patriot..
I got into the patriotic movement around 30 years ago, when I was in my teens. I’ve hoped and prayed for the return of sound money ever since. All along I’ve felt that if we were aloud to use money instead of debt vouchers that everything else would sort of fall into place. The hard currency message holds an astoundingly powerful pro-liberty concept. It’s such a huge matter that the Secret Service came close to killing my dad for trying to open the public’s eyes on that and a few other “pro-citizen” things. Sadly, few people were yet ready for what Dad was telling them.
At the beginning of this year I asked my dad, “Who’s this Ron Paul guy, anyway?” He told me that some friends of ours had liked him (back in the ’70s) because, by all appearances, he was the only constitutionalist in politics. I went back to my place to do some research. WOW—was I excited!!! He actually talked about stuff! …And was consistently truthful!!!
I had always known presidential candidates to talk indirectly on any given issue (tailor speeches for ignorant and confused, usually poor, inviduals who without the slightest idea what they’re supposed to seek in a candidate, so they are just “looking for a change”). These candidates—fairly ignorant themselves—had always referred a mystical thing called “the economy,” avoiding the real matter at hand—currency—like a plague. …And the war on truth and intelligence marches on…
These days I’m determined to do everything possible to help get the biggest share of sleazy trash off Capitol Hill. I have nieces and nephews in South Dakota and Iowa as well as young relatives living in my home state of California. I’d love to see them finish growing up in a free-market society without having to pay for mistakes they’ll have had nothing to do with having caused!
Some typos seem to go completely unnoticed. I apologize if this composition contains errors I might have missed.

Revolution on!
Hello!
I am pumped up and ready to take America back. I am a recent convert to the Ron Paul Revolution and couldn’t be happier. I was a talk-radio junkie and loved Fox news until I started to see the truth about the NAU and the defenders in the MSM.
The presidential race is like a never ending sideshow where Democrats blame “Big Oil” – Republicans blame liberals – talk radio blames Republican and liberals - nothing gets done! Both sides bicker while a global agenda sneaks in through the backdoor like a thief in the night.
Count me in this revolution!
welcome
welcome to the Revolution!!
Way to go, Kid99!
Never lose that enthusiasm!

Welcome!
It's great to have you join us in the Revolution and here at DailyPaul. Many of us are learning a lot here on this forum and as you may have seen already, there are a lot of different people and personalities here. All for the good (though it may seem a little chaotic occasionally :-)
It's like any time you drop into DP, there's something new going on. There's an amazing amount of infomation stored here on DP in the old threads as well (check the old posts in the Forums above).
However, you seem to be up to a flying start.. Yep, we need to close that backdoor and stop those thieves that do not appreciate the great nation and freedom that we have been given here in America by the sweat of the brow of our founding fathers and earlier patriots.
Freedom Rules Always!
A note on this
Fortune Favors the Bold
I wasn't around for the "glory days" of the summer of 2007. I committed to this after the December money bomb.
But I can imagine. I'm sure many people thought Ron Paul could actually win. And it must have seemed incredible, the sudden power of mass communication.
But even in December, I knew Ron Paul had no chance. I understood he had no chance even if he won. I understood this was the beginning of a long term project. The prospect of a long term struggle, in which gains and losses will be measured in inches, is not a prospect most people relish. We will pick up new people, but it won't be for Ron Paul the candidate. It will be for the ideas and beliefs we support.
We have undoubtedly lost some people. These are probably mostly the people who voted in online polls and watched youtube videos, but, you know, forgot to like, actually vote.
However, one thing that I think people missed: At the suppossed height of the revolution, most people still had no clue who Ron Paul was or what he stood for.
Not anymore. Through our efforts, those who have stayed in the fight, those who refuse to give up, everyone now knows who he is, and most have some rudimentary idea of what he stands for. We are forcing our way into the mainstream.
Hence, when Alex Jones, for example, criticizes the delegate struggles, saying its pointless: Well, no. I don't think anybody realistically thought we could stage a convention coup. But the conventions have kept the messgae out center front, in the news. It has forced the GOP to expose its hand. This is all working well for us. The socialists didn't think they would have their New World Order in one year.
Yes on both counts, John
Not only have we been getting the revolution message out, but for the first time the public is at least somewhat aware that "something" is going on with these conventions. They're beginning to wonder and ask questions. The GOP's hand is indeed being exposed, in measures they surely never anticipated. And thus the light begins to take over the darkness.
Yahtzee!
oooh great thread atrickpay!
Nothing is resolved yet and this election has all the ingredients for a shocking upset. McCain is self explanatory and the democrats are tiring out. The only negative thing anyone can say about Ron Paul is that he lacks the numbers. That is a variable that we hope to change : )
Welcome all newcomers
we're gonna need all the help we can get. It is Revolution time.
I'm kind of new
Hello, I'm Kyle from Bradenton, Florida (although originally from the Commonwealth of Virginia)
I joined this site not too long ago, maybe a month ago or so, I look at it everyday, many times a day.
I never voted for Ron Paul during the primary though because I was a Democrat in FL during the Primaries and couldn't vote for him so I voted for a Dem (not Obama or Hillary). Although now I truly regret it, it was my first time voting. I've always thought 9/11 was fishy and I started really liking Ron Paul when I saw him in the debates but never really got into him as much until February of this year. I don't agree with him on everything but I like him waay more then anyone else. I have also donated to the Ron Paul campaign.
I also have a Ron Paul bumper sticker slapped on my truck! RON PAUL!!
Welcome Kyle
My truck is also adorned with huge Ron Paul Revolution decals on the doors. They aren't coming off either. Driving the freeways in Los Angeles I get lost of views with my bright yellow paintjob.
A few people asked if it was a Reggae band. I laughed and let them know who he was of course.
New guys
Blowback happens when angry new guys find out that they have been intentionally cheated out of hearing Ron Paul's message by an unscrupulous, ruling elite controlled media, (basically anything on television)
Welcome aboard, we need you, not only to save this country, but to save the betrayed ideals this country was founded upon, a standard of hope, for the rest of the world.

Well, maybe I'm the only one that registered and posted?
Is there any way to see a list of members?
Right now the site shows, 77 users and 311 guests online at the moment.
So, it looks like more people read Daily Paul than actually register.
To see a list of members...
type in dailypaul.com/tracker/ and then the user number.
Ex: I think this is our newest member here dailypaul.com/user/13250
Unfortunately you have to go one at a time.
True
I was a reader/lurker for probably 4 months before I decided to register. I forget what it was that got me to register; some post I wanted to respond to.
