Anyone know how to download streaming video? I think maybe it's Flash-based (?) and I'd like to get this before it disappears from the NBC site. Yes of course I want to keep a copy of this! Are you kidding???

A computer geek I know has been able to convert the flash-based NBC report to MPEG using a Mac with OS X. Here's how (not that I understand any of this) --

1. Install Perian
2. Use MPEG Stream Clip to open file and export as an MPEG4.

Semp, I don't think the "But...we'll see" should be edited off! Because? It demonstrates that there is no come-back zinger line to the report!! It's the equivalent of a child having been read the riot act, and responding with, "Oh yeah? Well...nyeaah!" Yep, a real powerful argument there for your side, pal. Ha ha!

Well, I've been trying to re-encode this video all day so that the sound would be aligned. The video seems to encode fine and the sound is fine on my computer, but after youtube converts it, the sound gets off again.

Any ideas how to fix this? I've tried using several different encoders. I don't understand why the video would be fine until uploaded to youtube. I've mostly been re-encoding the video to flash/.flv, is there a different format that should keep the sound on track after youtube converts?

FWIW, as far as converting the file, we tried iSquint, but to no avail.
