WASHINGTON - Senator John McCain ’s presidential campaign is in a troubled stretch, hindered by resignations of staff members, a lagging effort to build a national campaign organization and questions over whether he has taken full advantage of Democratic turmoil to present a case for his candidacy, Republicans say.
In interviews, some party leaders said they were worried about signs of disorder in his campaign, and if the focus in the last several weeks on the prominent role of lobbyists in Mr. McCain’s inner circle might undercut the heart of his general election message: that he is a reformer taking on special interests in Washington.
"The core image of John McCain is as a reformer in Washington — and the more dominant the story is about the lobbying teams around him, the more you put that into question," said Terry Nelson, who was Mr. McCain’s campaign manager until he was forced out last year. "If the Obama campaign can truly change him from being seen as a reformer to just being another Washington politician, it could be very damaging over the course of the campaign."

Just seeing Liberman with McCain should be repulsive and revolting to any Republican. I hope that more delegates are made aware of that fact before and during the convention.

The Republican Party leaders
are proving that they would rather have a Democrat win the Presidency than Ron Paul. The Neo Cons have all their ducks in a row and will win whether its Obama, McCain or Clinton or Kukla, Fran and Ollie as I prefer to refer to them. Short of a violent revolution which we win there will be no Ron Paul nomination this year. Time to face it guys, we have been dealt to from a stacked deck and they aren't about to redeal the hand. The two party system has coalesced into one with the same directors and the only way to peaceably repair it is to form a new party with the numbers that make them set up and notice. Neither party will tolerate an influx of voters unwilling to bend to the Neo Cons wishes. They have worked tirelessly for over a hundred years to have us in this position and nothing, not even our Constitution, will stop them from disenfranchising the American public from a real choice.

pretty much the same as McCain... I grew up believing that McCain was the one senator that went both ways.... (in 2000 I was only in 6th grade)... he's always been the moderate/guy in the middle, toeing both parties for his own benefit, etc.

McCain is about the worst possible person who could run for President. Not only is he a smarta$$ but hes is an unintelligent smarta$$ and that is a dangerous combination. If some day McCain ever decides to let people backhand slap him to raise money for charity I will be first in line and then get back in line again and again and again.
