This was during an interview about his books The Real Lincoln and Lincoln Unmasked which are very critical of Abraham Lincoln.
DiLorenzo is a great scholar. I recommend his material.

I believe DiLerenzo's RP connection is not being brought up as a positive -- the public at large has zero idea of DiLorenzo's books or Lew Rockwell.
Once these names get enough circulation there will be ammo down the road -- Lew Rockwell is widely believed to have written those "racial" comments that were assigned to Ron Paul, additionally as much as you good southern boys like DiLorenzo's remarks against Lincoln 90% of the country feels oppositely -- it will be news to them and in their simplistic 7th grade reading and argumentation skills will be convinced that DiLorenzo and Rockwell are outright racists -- They will be lauded as RP's biggest supports.
Too me I see this coming up now is a "seed" the media is planting just in-case RP supporters should gain a stump over McCain in the fall!!!
The DiLorenzo Lincoln commentaries are not 100% factual, no matter how well the work is based in logic there is a thesis (once made) that must be defended and that is "Lincoln was not the great man we were taught......that he was not the great liberator......that the love most blacks and most whites feel for him, a love their parents passed down, were all wrong."
One does not need to denounce Lincoln to make the Civil-Libertarian argument, nor are all (all) the facts considered in DiLorenzo's work and you RP'ers pushing the anti-Lincoln campaign might take that into consideration.

Thomas DiLorenzo blogs on LewRockwell.com and it seems like everyone there is a Ron Paul supporter. I believe I've read Mr. DiLorenzo's comments in support of RP there.

Jesus, we're not trying to get anyone to do anything. We still support Ron Paul. Right now I still plan on voting for him. Until he's officially not running and officially not on the ballot he has my vote.
You can do whatever you want, but in the likely event that I can't vote for Ron Paul, then Bob Barr is MY backup. He doesn't have to be yours. But don't go around calling us trolls just because we don't want to throw away our votes to a write in that literally will be thrown out.

I happen to disagree...
Spreading the message of liberty is accomplished in many ways. One of those ways is standing up for what you believe in, even if you are the only one to do so. You may see this 'write in' as irrelevant because Dr. Paul is unlikely to win the nomination, I understand this view, it is shared by all those who did not vote in the primaries for Dr. Paul because in their heads there was no way he could win. It is this form of thinking that has caused difficulty in allowing this message to spread. I may be the only one to write in Dr. Paul, but in doing so I will sleep well at night knowing I have stood up for my principles. Those priciples include acting on what I know is right. Yes, it is easy to bend, it is easy to say this person or that person is relatively close to what I believe in, or he's not that bad. This is no longer my way of thinking. May I suggest that you find what you believe in, then defend it with every ounce of energy you have, even if it means you do not win the fight, you are the rock...you have stood for what's right. You have then become a significant stepping stone in the road to freedom, one that does not fade with time, for truth is timeless and you are the expression of truth.
