I sincerely apologize.
I'm very sorry. I'm afraid I may be the one responsible for all this Bob Barr stuff... but this was not my intentions, I swear...
I started off only reporting in a thread about the Libertarian Convention... I thought it was relevant to our movement because they kept mentioning us and have the same goals.... I personally was the most impressed by Mary Ruwart, as I think many of us were. However, she didn't win. As soon as I posted the results that Bob Barr won, people kind of freaked out and there were tons of anti-Bob Barr threads. I of course understand all those concerns, but at the same time, I think it'd be terrible if we turned away people who were pro-Barr, libertarian, etc. So, I started off by voicing my opinion on the matter and defending Barr. Personally, I think he'd make a decent plan B (although hopefully, we won't need a plan B). I nor anyone else were trying to force anyone to support Barr, take over Daily Paul, or sabotage our efforts.
However, I would say this. Despite your feelings on Mr. Barr, let's keep a clear head about this. First and foremost: Ron Paul is still in the race and is still our candidate. Our efforts should be focused on him and spreading the message. That said, I think it is ok if people want to explore back ups, should Ron not be on the ballot. I don't think any of us here should ridicule or try to prevent/ostracize those who wish to do so. If you don't like Barr, don't vote for him. Problem solved. Better yet, we're all Republicans.... let the Libertarians worry about Bob Barr. Still, let's hold them as an ally, and if they help meet some our goals, we should be happy.
That brings me to my next point: Ron Paul has said himself that this movement needs to be about more than just him. We need many voices for our cause, and I personally welcome anyone who is friendly to us and our beliefs. If Bob Barr can attract more people to our ideals, great, let him do it. But please, let's not bicker over him at the risk of starting a rift between us. That's just what our enemies would like to see. Let's not turn people away over something so insignificant. Also, let's not sacrifice and execute Ron Paul in hero worship. He is my hero, but he can't run for every office every time (and probably won't, although I hope he does).
So, I think ALL the Barr posts should DIE. Positive and negative. It'll be for our own good. And when the election comes, we are certainly all educated enough to make our own decisions.
Now please, back to work!

I appreciate your sincerity.
It's been a long day and things have gotten somewhat tense. Your apology and clarification should help diffuse the matter. Have a good night.
"You're a neo-con troll who
"You're a neo-con troll who works for McCain" has become the battle cry of ignorance on Daily Paul. It's what people say when they're too intellectually lazy to argue and want to shut down a debate. I find reading it almost embarrassing. I'd rather read people flinging F-bombs--it would sound more intelligent to the outside reader.
We all ought to be a little more longwinded than that. Argue issues.
Barr is unacceptable and I don't trust him...I'm not budging on that.
SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States
Ron Paul would never apologize for what he believes in
and either would I. I believe in Barr, Ron Paul, and Chuck Baldwin but people just aren't thinking reason on this site. There will need to be a plan B even if we don't use it. If Ron Paul wins then Great but if not I guess they can sit home or vote Baldwin but he has no chance.
While I think your apology is noble it was not necessary.
Thanks for that aVoR
I voted for, ironically another guy with two first names - Kevin George (RP-R) in my district here in Texas.
Career politician, Ralph Hall (Neo-R) won with his "I support Him, because He Supports Them" schtick. You know that translates into "I support Bush, because Bush supports the Wars".
Here is how I say it about RP: "Paul takes His Orders from the Constitution, so I take My Orders from Paul"
We wait until we here from him. In the meantime (as you said)...
"So, I think ALL the Barr posts should DIE. Positive and negative. It'll be for our own good. And when the election comes, we are certainly all educated enough to make our own decisions.
Now please, back to work!"
I don't think...
that anyone was implying that we should jump ship and start supporting Barr or even that dailypaul should unite behind him or Baldwin. Everyone's goal is to come out at the convention as strong as possible, the actual election is still awhile away. However, I don't see a problem with analyzing the different candidates and analyzing in the forum their strengths and weaknesses. If a miracle doesn't happen and McCain continues into the general election, we need two things to happen. One, we need to have brought as much change to the convention as possible and two, we need as low a Republican turnout as possible in the general election and as high a third party turnout (even if it is split up between a couple different candidates.) In this way, we'll show the party that they can't win without us, change is coming and they need change with the times or risk saying goodbye to the dominant Republican Party as they know it.
No sweat
These are intense times and it's Memorial Day thoughts of our men and women fighting a war that we have no idea why. Let's concentrate on St. Paul in Sept. it should be an exciting time I think Dr. Paul is looking forward to it. Peace
it's cool man
I think alot of what happened was that you were always mistaken for "Onevoiceofreason" and it stuck.
oh, and I'm not a troll
oh, and I'm not a troll either... some people think I am because they confuse me with a troll who had the same/similar name... but I swear I'm legit.
We know you are legit :)
You painted a portrait Ron Paul... and were courageous enough with putting up with the criticism you copped and stand your ground, not because of your artistic results but because of your stand in politics. Good on you!!
