Asylum from the DP Asylum--Devon's New Site
When I signed into the Daily Paul a few months ago, I was awesomely surprised at the amount of information and news that was available on this one small blog.
As a basically uneducated person, I felt I was surrounded by so many brilliant and intellectual people, that I was reluctant to post for fear that I'd be recognized or ridiculed for my lack of knowledge in economics, politics, self sufficiency or current news.
It was a miracle to have such a place to learn from. And I found that in the end, there were so many that would reach out their minds and help those who were new to this, understand...And when humor was called for..They were the sharpest knives in the drawer.
But, in the last few weeks, I've become a witness to the deterioration of something I counted on everyday...The numbers in users speak for themselves, as a war rages from within.
Flagging, bickering, mean-spiritness,divisive topics, overbearing topics..have shattered a once great haven of collective minds, into a proverbial warzone. My heart goes out to manystrom, who I picture wringing his hands over his creation.
Last night, I watched, as emotion overtook reason, and some of our smartest people..(you know who you are :) ) dove into a war of words...I was as much saddened by this as I was to see the second Liberty Garden Thread flagged to oblivion.
For this, I take off my laid back personna, and put on my parental suit to say...Shame on you.
But thankfully, there is a place of refuge. Anyone who has been here for a short time knows Devon_Saunders, and what a great poster he is. Always unbiased (well...almost :) ) he has taken the time to set up an alternate site for those seeking the DP threads on gardens, 911, the food crisis, etc..
It's very new, and he's taken alot of trouble to create it ,and as far as I'm concerned, I'm happy it's there when things get too muddied here.
I will be so thankful, if those who post about our economic crisis ,gardens and silver shopping here, will also do so there...I am still learning from you guys, you know.
This is in no way to diminsh the DP...Perhaps, it's just going through a rough patch...And I will continue to log in...but for those who need a break..
Here it is..

Great site
With many interesting videos that I am trying to find time to watch. I think the girls stay up all night over there chatting about everything too.
bump!
for liberty harvest. : )
Yep,
I hate that flag feature it always causes distension.
Things were moving along good here without it. Michael, lets be rid of it!
Thank you for this ... I had
Thank you for this ... I had no idea the site was up and running - Devon has always been a great poster with a lot of intelligent things to say so I definitely plan on checking it out :)

you actually have to sign up to get to the really good stuff. :)
Good Morning Bump
Thanks to Devon for his extra effort in creating this as a companion site to the Daily Paul where open minds seeking knowledge, provocative thought and diversity of opinion are welcomed on some topics that are perhaps a bit too intense, controversial and/or unrelated directly to Doctor Paul to be appropriate here.
One more bump so viewers and posters have the link and can decide if they wish to check it out.
mid-morning bump
bump!
one last bump
for the all-nighters :)

I did like the garden posts
I did like the garden posts
I was away for the weekend.
I was away for the weekend. Weekends have been kind of strange here. I have seen this happen over and over. Maybe because of no news, or because people are busy , I don't know. But then comes Monday and Daily Paul is back, better than ever.
Devon's new site looks really promising, but please, don't any of you brilliant people go anywhere.
They're not going anywhere..
If anything...i just ask them to post some of their threads on his site as well, where they'll be safe from the "flag monkey's"...

Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
The Liberty Garden Idea
is in vain, I'm sorry to say. You need to start working on a local currency to keep the fruits of your labor circulating locally, otherwise the Fed will happily feed off your efforts. And barter is too cumbersome.
bump
for the afternoon crowd

Don't disagree
It does go through cycles here - but the upgrade would have fixed some of these problems.....I don't come here that much now for one and a lot of the older users don't come at all.
I know Annie...
very sad...but devon's site is not a strictly RP site...Which should elimate the jusification to flag for being off the RP topic.

I too
have been disappointed by the flag patrol. Just yesterday I had prepared a long post to the free-for all topic, and before it could be posted, I got the "access denied" message.
Libera me, let the truth break, what my fears make--Leslie Phillips
PLEASE all you FLDS Bob Barr
PLEASE all you FLDS Bob Barr folks go to this new outlet and the Daily Paul remain about Ron Paul and the candidates he's endorsed.
I've Got No Problem with FLDS Threads
But I am not a Truther (as Devon is but claims not to be).
I will not read or post at his site because that ain't my bag.
But I will continue to discuss FLDS here. There was only ever one topic which Ron Paul asked people who support him to pipe down about and that was "9/11 Truth."
Good luck to the Truthers in their new habitat.
Ron Paul Explorer: The All Paul Search Engine
All that has to be done...
is to quit bumping them with comments...They will fade away...Yet, Devon, has one thing going for his site...He stores the database each night, therefore, anything unjustly flagged, can be reinstated by him...Like the garden thread.

My fav's are Lisa C., Sierra, akak, mengesman, John Galt, pegarizona, Kevin Tuma, Devon_saunders, Ghengis, and I'll think of some more in a minute...that I find completely invaluable.

Well, I don't make the invaluable list, but it is a great site and I am there, too..NOT that I would miss coming here several times a day, though. With all its strange goings on DP is a fixture in my life.
