What closed the deal for you?
There are many reasons why people have come to support Ron Paul. The first time I heard of him was the first republican debate. When he said "I'm Ron Paul, the Champion of the Constitution!", I said to myself "Who is this guy?".
All his answers were clean, honest and music to my ears. I immediately googled his name and was addicted to his views. I found myself getting progressively excited about seeing him on T.V. and wanting to hear more of his answers.
It was the first time I was looking forward to debates. All his responses were right on, but what finally closed the deal for me was when he was asked about a 2nd amendment question. I'm not exactly sure how it was worded or exactly how he answered the question. He said something to the affect -- "we guard our money better than we guard our children on school buses" "Look at the way armored trucks protect their money"
To me this closed the deal, from that point on, I never questioned anything about the way he carries himself or the way he sees things.

RP is the "Real Deal"!!! His intellect, honesty and sincerity...
..stands out in a presidential field full of...phonies!! A genuine politician like RP comes by once in a lifetime...
His lack of unnatural polish
But his gold shining through, knowledge of economics...his honesty and "real" person who cares persona. His position on alternative medicine. As a person living with an incurable cancer diagnosis, I depend upon the availability of supplements and integrative care. I've had it up to my eyeballs with lying big pharma, big corporations and big government.
IT'S DOABLE
For me it was
abolishing the federal income tax. Allowing people to keep more of the money they earn empowers them!
He had me

Sell Outs Everywhere I Look, Hear and Touch
Bought some Paul Revere panware this past fall at a yard sale.... the Revereware line of pans is top of the line and on the back of the pan is stamped the profile of Paul Revere ( and it's made in the USA ).
Well.... when I got home and looked at the pans it was to my dismay to see that they were made in China. I knew right there and then that our county had been sold out and hope looked dismal.
Sometime in late November Ron Paul came on my radar... I soaked up everything he spoke about. I figured a man married for 50 year would be hard to smear. They didn't really smear him.... they just made it look like he didn't really exist.
Have I given up.... HELL NO...! I'm still putting up signs at huge community events ( at the entrances ) Manning booths in my community. And I'm printing tons of fliers with my laser printer. What will you do this week ?

Project Sunshine... Time to send the grey clouds to the McCain Camp...!
( more info to come )
He's not McCain
When I saw "Redstate" stating "Ron Paul supporters are not welcome" as they are shilling for the RNC and McCain, I wised up and came home to Ron Paul.
I'm ordering my big ol' RP sign to grace my front yard tonight!

Thanks for that info, Ron!
Thanks for that info, Ron!
You are all very welcome
I saw it advertised a few days ago on there, and I literally stayed up till midnight last night waiting for the special to begin. Is that lame???? I think it's pretty cool to pick up some discounted RP goods! :-)
Now I'm dying to get my grab bag. LOL.
I was actually born to be a Ron Paul supporter.
Something I have always believed since I can remember.
Democrat dad. Republican mom.
Genetics.
Harry Brown was my political hero before RP. Reagan campaigned as my hero, but fell short.
That all happened in my high school era, so I know I was born this way.
Still can't convince my parents to vote for freedom.
University of Michigan liberal education never changed me.
I had my immature days of stereotyping people, but we all were brought up to think that way.
We all have our roles.
The first time I ever
The first time I ever saw/heard Ron Paul was in that same debate.... I was only watching it for extra credit for my high school American Government class... When he introduced himself, "I'm Ron Paul, I'm a Congressman from Texas, and I am the Champion of the Constitution" , it made me smile (and kind of laugh), and it sent shivers down my back... but it also impressed me. And, since we were learning about the Constitution (again), I remember writing in my summary of the debate how Ron Paul (or whoever he was) was the only one who seemed to know anything about the Constitution and was in-line/basing his answers/beliefs on it. I also remember thinking, right after he gave his first answer, perfectly correct though it was, "Well, that guy has no chance whatsoever."
Well, months went by and I forgot all about Ron Paul... I graduated from high school, and I didn't even think about politics until I was on vacation in Lake Tahoe, Nevada... I wasn't very happy because the Clintons were coming (which was sure to ruin my vacation). I didn't feel very excited about any of the candidates and I wasn't ready to jump on the hype-wagon of Barack Obama... well, I was briefly excited when Fred Thompson announced he was running... "Thank God, a conservative" I thought... but Fred didn't do it either.
Then, one day in September/October, while sitting in my dorm room 13 floors above the streets of downtown Chicago, I heard some marching/shouting from the street below.... There were frequently protests/parades on the street (State Street), and I figured it was just another Macy's protest a couple blocks up the street. Well, I went to my window to check it out, and I saw a line of people carrying the big blue Ron Paul signs and chanting "Ron Paul! Ron Paul!" "There go the crazies," I thought and laughed to myself... Then, I decided that wasn't fair and a little mean, and I should give their guy a shot... It only took a brief google search (I believe it was his Wikipedia page) and a few youtube videos before I was sold, and became one of those "crazies." I just remember sitting at my desk thinking, "My God, we have to get this guy elected."
Got to be crazy to believe
Got to be crazy to believe in honesty and integrity in this culture of deception and greed. :)
I read his preface to Edwin
I read his preface to Edwin Vieira's 1983 book "Pieces of Eight" about the monetary powers granted by the constitution, which I just happened to pick up at a friends of the library sale. Before that day, I had seen his name around on signs, but I always figured he was just another compromised politician. Keep in mind that I'm a hermit-- I don't watch TV or listen to the radio, and up to that day I didn't follow contemporary politics. I was aware of the fraud of the Federal Reserve system however, and when I saw Ron Paul's preface in that book, I recognized his name and thought "Hey, this guy's running for president!" From there, I researched him and loved everything I found.
Here's a great quote from that preface:
"Principles are not passing fads, and the Constitution is not obsolete. The truth of an idea and the efficacy of a principle are not conditioned by time."
He is my hero
God Bless Dr. Paul.
I had been
I had been a long time listener of the Alex Jones show and that is how I came into contact with the good doctor. As soon as I heard his platform I knew he was the only candidate I could support. I was with him well before he started to Run for President. Ron is in one of Alex's movies called "Matrix of Evil" along with Cynthia Mckinney who is also a wonderful person.
Not sure
that I can remember one specific thing....damn old age :o
One that I do remember is his speech at Mountain View in July '07.

No script, no notes, no teleprompter. Just a longtime voice of freedom and common sense. Still makes me emotional when I watch...
Bravo!
Ron Paul for the long haul.
The exact words that woke me up
"I take my marching orders from the constitution". Moderators of those debates really shot themselves in the foot whenever they challenged Dr. Paul. No wonder they just started ignoring him altogether.
suppoert for the second
support for the second ammendment... without the 2nd you don't have any of the others! plus getting the UN out of the US!
