20% of the people do 80% of the work, that is reality. We had a huge meet up down to a handful now because they don't realize this is a war, not a battle. Also, they have group think even for a good cause. It is hard to be passionate and keep on. Sometimes it is easier to just go back to playing video games (not me, but so many of them) or surfing the internet for the latest conspiracy theory without doing anything. I would like to find an uninhabited island where I can play in the surf and watch the coconut trees grow. But, instead I am getting signatures to be a PC and have been one and was a delegate. I canvassed my whole town and was disappointed after Super Tuesday but am encouraged by so many people wanting to really change the party.

We worked hard here and Paul4won is the hardest working person in this state for Ron Paul. If not for her we would not have had much of a campaign. she inspired us all to do more with her relentless action and never give up attitude.
Still people who should have and we expected to did not step up or we could have done even better. I think that is our biggest problem. We have a lot of talkers and sign wavers but not enough front line boots on the ground troops to do the heavy lifting. Those of you who have given your all to this campaign trying to motivate others to help know what I am talking about...
And because of that people will be in for a rude awakening in this country and wishing they had stepped up when they had the chance. Heres to rebooting the system and hoping we all come out on the other side with a fresh new opportunity to reestablish freedom
You are very kind, but there were a handful of warriors here, and you deserve plenty of credit yourself!
And maybe I should not confess this, but I want everyone to understand this is SERIOUS and it is HARD: I do NOT have a "never give up" attitude. I am a whiny quitter, I give up about every 15 minutes. I pout and scream and cry, then get off my butt and start in again. Quit as often as you must, just never stop starting over again! lol!
They have results broken dwon by county, if you know which county you are looking for. I am not sure - I know that Boundary county pulled 40% for the good Doctor. :) I HOPE that is where Sandpoint is. If it is, I want the GOP to dare, I mean invite, McCain to speak at the Convention! ;)
I am not sure it will actually see the airwaves, but they are at least asking some questions at channel 7. If you can stomach the lie box tonight, tune in to KTVB.
I have looked at all the news places I can find and no one has printed the county results. CNN in the original post above, doesn't even show that we've had our primary yet but they do have a sentence that it "will be" held May 13th. I have high hopes for our county since we had lots of canvasing going on and we have 60% of the delegates!
The Dems had a caucus in February as their "main event." In Idaho, the Primary is "open" so there is a Democratic and a Republican side of the ticket that you choose which side to vote. However, it is pretty much a legal formality and very few of the very few Democrats in Idaho vote in the Primary, they picked their candidate in February.
But I DID try to get McCain off the ballot... clearly, my effort failed, but I tried! ;)
It's a wonderful showing for Ron. I disagree with the ongoing sentiment that there is a national movement (media or otherwise) that is actively anti-Paul. The only ones that are anti-Paul now are in the McCain camp.
The table is tilted.
The game is rigged, folks.
And nobody seems to notice, and nobody seems to care.
It's called "the American Dream" because you have to be asleep to believe it - George Carlin
The "state" paper (the biggest one in the Capital city, Boise) is pretending there was no election rather than admit that 24% of voters in "reddest red state" Idaho just said "McCain is no Republican." THAT is news, and that is NOT on their website. We had virtually no coverage of the enitre primary, because even the neocons here sensed this spanking coming. They actually launched counter write-in campaigns against us. The "sick of it" sentiment in Idaho is HIGH, EVERYONE feels the "not a recession" now, and the news still pretends everything is peachy.
on say, Michael Medved, for instance, who never dares to speak of Ron Paul, the only news we hear of RP is related to off-the-wall topics, ie. "Paulville." CBS, Chicago Trib, and others picked up the story re. RP paying his family. The Chicago Trib. NEVER gave RP the time of day, didn't even cover him when he rallied in Chicago or when any of his offices in Illinois opened. The media definitely runs with the "Ron Paul's a kook" stories whenever possible while not reporting real news, like his awesome performance in Idaho. I think there's no doubt there are "talking points" vis-a-vis Ron Paul. You only have to read the phrase "insurgent candidate" so many times before coming to that conclusion.
Why does the "media" run with these stories? Because they are fed these stories by the opposing camps. All organizations are composed of people, and people who are really, really good at manipulating people know how to place these stories. The media is populated with lazy, unthinking folks... I'd bet in proportion to the same numbers as the general population. It's hard work to do your job, and when these handlers do your job for you, you are grateful for it. This is how we got here.
and worked full time "feeding" many stories to the media, very few of which were run. Even opening 6 offices in Illinois was deemed a non-starter by nearly every paper in the state. A presidential candidate opening an office in a small town like Bloomington, IL, is a legitimate story in anyone's estimation. The fact that there was NO coverage despite multiples calls and visits to the various outlets was all the "proof" I needed that he was without a doubt being subverted, and still is.
Well, consider this. All of the other candidates who ran and received very low numbers of supporters were in the same boat. Explain that. They report on stories that are of interest to the greatest amount of readers. No support, no readers.
You're joking, right? By any indicator, RP had by far the strongest genuine support among Republicans. The media created McCain's "surge," created Huckabee's "surge," propped up Thompson and Giuliani. Before the primaries even began, we had George Stephanopolis telling RP he was going nowhere. "You got 1% the last time, how do you expect to do any better?" They knew what he was about from the get-go and moved to supress at EVERY turn.
In the case of Stephanopolous, I would expect no less. I mean, he was a foaming at the mouth pro-Clintonite. Ron is a marginal player, it just so happens that in this election he was a marginal player that struck a chord with us.
This was also my experience in Nebraska. It was one of the many good reasons why RP should have picked a red state (like Idaho?) and camped out until every voter in every little podunk at least knew that he was still in the running.
This is not 20/20 hindsight.
I know nobody was as excited about this prospect, but way back in March I was lobbying the Ron Paul campaign to try to win in Idaho!
A lot of people worked very hard here, we received 24% with a total media blackout, and the Idaho GOP refusing to even list RP as a candidate on their state web site.
Thanks to all the people from Utah, and other states for the help!!

This brightened my day. It's exciting to know that many of us out there are sharing the ideas of limited federal government and individual responsibity. Congrats Idaho!
RP beat mccain in some early primaries. If only people would vote for who they wanted and not who the establishment serves up. But they scatter like flies when told he can't win. I bet a lot of mccain's 70% would support RP if they thought he had a chance, especially if they knew how awful mccain really is.
Ron Paul will receive a minimum of 5 delegates from Idaho! (26 are bound proportionally, and 6 more ( unbound) we can battle for at the state convention).

This is from the Iowa Straw Poll results - from Fox News

And, don't forget his treatment on site at the Iowa Straw Poll
His tent was wayyyyyy off to the side in the corner. MC Laura Ingraham called his supporters "crazy" even way back then.
And the ABC "Lone Paul Supporter" photo
..with the umbrella (even when we saw the video of DOZENS) and the "Look at all the Mitt Supporters" photos and, and, and....it goes on and on
thats just DAY 1
I dont understand how somebody doesnt notice these things

To bad Dr. Paul could not have made it to Boise a few days before the primary.
