NEW! 'Who's Ron Paul' song
I know it's raw and sound isn't too good but if you have a second please check it out and let me know what you think. I'm gonna ask my brother and my cousin if they'll help put some drum and bass to it. I play it for myself and it gives me motivation, so I thought I'd share hoping it may do the same for you.
please Rate and/or Comment...thank you
Ron Paul for the long haul.
*In case you can hear the words clearly:
Hold on, it soon will be
We're moving on, moving up, moving into liberty
I never thought that these would be the words
That I would sing
I never thought that these would be the things
That I would see
Hold on, soon it will be
Stand strong, press on, 'till freedom is released
From the chains that remain from 1913
Please understand what the 'Man' has been doing to you and me
And just hold on, soon he will be
In a place where he may give the lightness of relief
He understands what the 'Man' has been doing to you and me
For the good of us all, find out for yourself
Who's Ron Paul
The war on poverty is keeping people in the street
And the war on drugs will never end
The war on terrorism is as much a falicy
As an income tax on a free society
But just hold on, soon he will be
In a place where he may give the lightness of relief
He understands what the 'Man' has done to our economy
Please understand that this man truly knows what freedom means
Stand strong, press on, 'till freedom is released
No more fear from the 'Man' to give up our liberties
Stand strong, it won't be long before you feel like you can breathe
And move on, and move up, and move into liberty
Just hold on, soon he will be
In a place where he may give the lightness of relief
He understand what the 'Man' has been doing to you and me
For the good of us all, find out for yourself
Who's Ron Paul

I may bump this once a day for a little while...
trying to share my expression.
It's ok to let the post die...there are many other important issues at hand :)
Hey NumberOne...
You said you listened again...were you able to decipher the words better?
Thanks for your interest, I'm gonna head to my cousin's tonight and work out some additions :)
PS...This is the last self-bump, it just doesn't feel good :(
Thanks NumberOne,
I agree with you, though for fun we may give it a try for experimentation purposes. I put up a different copy of this same recording in hopes that I was able to get the lyrics to be more coherent. Thank you all for the support, maybe I'll go play it at an open mic and continue to share. You all are giving me confidence :)
A 'clearer' lyrical copy is up. Please check out link above.
..
Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to give a try (both re-recording w/ a band and performing at open mic), who knows... It might surprise you and maybe the full band version might become the definitive version. I listened again and played some acoustic behind it... Like I said, it's a good song and I wish you the best. Make sure you post it here when you finish it!
Great song!
Very nice choice of chords to compliment the lyrics, which I think are very good. I don't think you should add drums or bass to this song because it might bury the emotion in your voice. If anything, another acoustic guitar might help add depth if you want more bottom end. Maybe a few structural rhythmic leads (if that makes any sense..) on the second guitar.
This is only my opinion, thank you for putting yourself "out there" and keep up the great work!
bump
very nice
Thank you
I'm not one to self bump, but I would like to share this a little.
Very nice,
very heart felt and easy to listen too. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for the comments...
It is most appreciated.
