Author Michael Crichton references Ron Paul in MSM critique
From a new interview of Crichton in Slate:
"The biggest change is that contemporary media has shifted from fact to opinion and speculation. You can watch cable news all day and never hear anything except questions like, 'How much will the Rev. Wright hurt Obama's chances?' 'Is Hillary now looking toward 2012?' 'How will McCain overcome the age argument?' These are questions for which there are endless answers. Contentious hosts on cable shows keep the arguments rolling," he says.
Crichton believes that we live in an age of conformity much more confining than the 1950s in which he grew up. Instead of showing news consumers how to approach controversy coolly and intelligently, the media partake of the zealotry and intolerance of many of the advocates they cover. He attributes the public's interest in Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright to its hunger for a wider range of viewpoints than the mass media provide....

GO RON GO!
Wouldn't Crichton be a big supporter because of global-warming?
Ron Paul is the only big candidate (besides Barr) who doesn't buy into global warming.
Maybe... Though in one of
Maybe... Though in one of his books there were 'eco-terrorists' that was causing a false illusion there was global warming.... So maybe he doesn't?
Just read his two books
"Next" and "State of Fear" are excellent introductions to the problems behind genetic engineering and global warming. Someone from the revolution (I'm looking at you WTPRN, Revolution broadcasting, breakthematrix, Alex Jones) needs to interview him ASAP.
This is the guy behind Jurassic Park and ER! His support would be monumental.
I think Michael Crichton needs to do a little research...
Let me see, the media was selling Huckabee before the Iowa primaries like he was the next Abe Lincoln only funnier and with a rock band. Rev. Wright has been putting his foot in his mouth and embarrassing the presumptive Democratic candidate for weeks. Neither one of them have anything of substance to offer to the political debate or any insight into the problems that Crichton feels need to be addressed by the MSM. Anybody interested in their viewpoints should have gotten more than information in the press to cover either one of them.
And yet he lumps Ron Paul in with these clowns?
It is as if he considers Ron Paul to be another amusing diversion to fill people's interest until a real politician of substance comes along and a responsible MSM decides to cover him. (Someone exactly like Ron Paul?!?!)
Well, my interest
in Dr. Paul is because he knows what the hell he's talking about and backs it up with his actions. Thanks for posting Peace
