Barr to me reeks of George H. W. Bush. Allow me to explain.
Both men were CIA men...Bush was the director, Barr merely worked there...but
Bush rode the tails of the Reagan revolution...he battled with Reagan for the nomination in 1980, and then was chose to be veep, even though he really didn't mesh with Reagan's ideals. I would make the claim that he undermined the Reagan revolution...someone sure did because Reagan never was able to get the budget under control through 2 terms.
IMHO, this is what Barr is thinking of. He wants to get on board for the Ron Paul revolution, so he's beginning to take his talking points on many issues. Barr doesn't strike me as a freedom lover...more an opporitunist who felt the winds changing after losing his seat in congress. If we allow Barr into the revolution, he will undermind it at every turn.
I don't trust Barr...he seems to be saying a lot of good things lately, but I just can't trust a man who does a political 180 after losing his seat. Barr is a libertarian as much as Lieberman is a conservative.
We know Paul leads by example. Well Paul always gives politicians the benefit of the doubt when they express genuine regret and change their mind; for this is the goal!
For example, Paul refused to discuss Romney's Pro-Choice past during the campaign because Romney was campaigning on Pro-Life. Paul rewarded Romney by only debating his foreign policy and monetary policy.
More recently, Paul says he will endorse McCain if McCain changes his opinion on a myriad of issues. Paul knows this is unlikely. Yet Paul consistently lets it be known that he would endorse McCain in this unlikely scenario. What is he trying to tell us?
We must support politicians when they vote Libertarian after hearing our persuasive messages. With only 5-15% of the vote, our goal is further education for growth. We should not compromise our principles to grow. But we must show politicians that when they have a change of opinion based on our educational campaigns, we will reward them with our support. Otherwise, why should they be motivated to change?
Paul said the Revolution was not about him, it was about the message. In regards to Barr, I hear Barr campaigning today on a message consistent with Paul. And Barr will be on the ballot in at least 48 states.
makes me happy.
Yeah write in the Good Doc. That itself is a message to the hacks.

he was the one that was depressed because our "movement" was winding down, but he was also the one pitching Barr for awhile. You kind of read him the necessary riot act. By the way, how is the home away from home Libertylove site doing. I may need to escape this place for awhile tonight.
I absolutely did not harass him. That ticks me off and the only reason he feels "insulted" is because I didn't give him the "warm and fuzzies" he was looking for. I'm not his mommy nor his nanny. It was a self-indulgent, attention-seeking, morale-sucking post and I stand by what I said.
That being said, I encourage you to go and hang out with the loonies over at Devon's site. You must post a pic though. :-D
that did not buy into his ruse. I remember names and posts really well, and it was all about Barr for awhile. Anyway, if I can stay up I will visit the fun site later.
I'm leaning to Barr but only because he's a convert. However, I hope he knows that he's playing with fire and if he tries anything funny, believe me the Radical Libertarians are going to hold him accountable. My voting for Barr is a pragmatic approach so that way freedom can keep on spreading. There are things I didn't like about Barr but I'm able to give him a chance. I love Dr. Paul, I never thought I could actually love what a politician represents. But if I vote for Barr, it's only because of the movement. Remember, a Radical Libertarian (Steve Kubby) endorsed him. But let's try our best with Paul first. If we stick together for the future, we can be the country. Paul did the hard part, he can sleep in peace at night (although I think the campaign HQ could've tried to risk spending some of that money before on winning a couple of states). I just hope that Barr knows what he's doing because if he doesn't, he should be warned that we'll get back at him if he betrays us. It's called blowback, so I hope that he doesn't take us for granted.
What do you mean by "DESTROY" in "PLOY TO DESTROY PAUL".
Surely you don't mean to literally kill him. So what? To prevent him from winning? That's not going to happen. To prevent him from running a writein campaign? To ruin the future of Rand Paul? How is Barr going to accomplish any of this?
What do you mean?
"Know what you know, know what you don't know, and understand and appreciate the distinction."
But who cares about that...vote Barr!! Paul is old hat and has given up anyway. I think anyone who has a shot at getting elected is more important than what one believes in....
Barr’s voting record and past affiliations = destroys own credibility and weakens the libertarian party.
Barr = opportunist
Barr= flip flopper
Barr= typical politician
My view of the libertarian party was one of principle and integrity, but now they just look like republacrats , hungry for power.
I'm liking you more every day. I take back any derogatory remarks previously made by me towards you. GalacticWhacko is still my hero though (behind Dr. Paul, of course). Bobby Barrsinister is not part of the revolution, he is just trying to capitalize off of it. Can't wait to get to St. Paul for some fun.
and nothing can derail the ignorance locomotive that seems to be powering these inane comments claiming Bob Barr is some kind of Neo Con plant. It's like a high-powered locomotive on the path to Stupidity and extremely dorky metaphors!!!
Who is this guy. A agent provocateur. All his posts are full of anger and lashing toward Ron Paul supporters. Whats his agenda. Remember bub your posting on a pro Ron Paul site A.K.A. the "Daily PAUL". It seems most of your anger stems from forgetting that simple fact. Welcome our house. If you don't like the policies of freedom and small government and an adherence to the constitution then by all means let me show you the door. Trolls they get me every time.
your so clever, you just discovered my true identity as a neocon CIA satan worshipping agent provacateur with a Bob Barr man-crush who gets paid big money to go on the daily paul every once in awhile and dilute the movement with a few posts, Hehehe I wish you could realize how irrational your coming across about this stuff, Go ahead check all my posts I've been on here for 8 months or so and never until now have I felt compelled to write much more than a once in awhile post about something until I witnessed the mass stupidity and group-think thats been going on with SOME of the ron paul supporters in here regarding Bob Barr.
who is going to buy into mass stupidity and group-think to support someone who is going to change what again???? There has been so much talk with you guys but no one has said exactly what it your renegade, revolutionary, freedom-loving leader is going to bring to the table to change one thing that needs to be changed. Looks like you will just follow along with the same old thing as it is. Good luck to you guys; you will need it. Another thing is from what I am hearing even your fellow Libertarians don't like the choice so do you really think you will be hearing any accolades from Ron Paul supporters?
Don't get side-tracked with supporting anyone other than Ron Paul. One of three people is going to win this election, Clinton, Obama, or McCain - most likely Obama. If you cannot support any of them, then the best choice is to support Ron Paul. For any other candidate, it is too late and they have too little support to have much of an impact.
However, if all those dissatisfied with current government and the current candidates, including Libertarians, stand behind Ron Paul, then it will only help to strengthen the message.
Please support Ron Paul, rather than diluting the dissent among less popular candidates.
I'm starting to think that some Ron Paul people are creating a cult of personality around Ron instead of just thinking about advancing the cause of liberty. This is how all third party style movements die out, they get too wrapped around one leader and then no one else can ever measure up to his standards, example: Bob Barr
because Dr. Paul has struggled to prevent his supporters from seeing him as the leader of the movement. He doesn't want to lead the movement. He's been trying hard to avoid cult-leader status. He wants a bottom-up spontaneous self-organized libertarian revolution. He knows he didn't start the Revolution. The Revolution just picked him up along the way. As he said many times, "Thanks for inviting me to the Revolution." It's not really the "Ron Paul Revolution," but a Liberty Revolution that had been fomenting.
i guess everyone is entiteled to their own opinion, it is just difficult to know when a person is actually touting THEIR OWN opinion or one they are being paid to tout.

See how Barr has divided us? He has been a complete success....
United we stand is the only way this Revolution is going to work. We the People must remain one. As I have said before: There are only two parties now: WE THE PEOPLE vs. THE GLOBALISTS.
...just not the politicians that knew what the Constitution said, swore an oath to it, and still ignored it. We'd need more time and he'd have to show more things, not SAY more things to prove to us he's in it for the long haul.
What does it matter other than that he SAYS libertarian things? Again, he, like Dr. Paul, has almost no chance at being elected president so his actions are irrelevant. All that matters right now is getting some libertarian issues in the debates. The speaker doesn't even have to believe what he says, as far I'm concerned. If you yourself had the name recognition, and I knew you were going to spout libertarian propaganda in debates, I'd support you in the polls too. It's not about the messenger, but the message.
Stop looking at support for Barr as you're looking at electing a president. That's not it at all. I supported Dr. Paul, knowing full well that he was very unlikely to be president. It donated his campaign just to get some libertarian counterpoint in the debates. There is no way that this country is ready to elect a libertarian president. A libertarian president is only a remote possibility, until the masses are converted by hearing the arguments. They can't hear the arguments if the person who wants to make them in the debates has to pass a grilling background check by you just to get permission to SPEAK.
I refuse to accept your notion of "the ends justifies the means" regarding Barr. He could potentially make us look the fool when exposed on his voting record. I understand what you're saying completely, I just don't think it works in our favor to bend our principles for the "greater good". That's exactly what got us in this mess, remember? It is ultimately too late for Barr to *do* something to prove to us he's for real, which was my point.
