I'm a little new here... who's Steve Parent? What's all the hubbub?

An internet phantom with a serious following. too bad theyre not serious enough to meet his financial demands. so he has to come to the DP and other RP Forums on the internet to pimp and troll for money.

To be fair Steve did help some people and do some good things to his credit. Even the devil did some good things to his credit also. Thnks to them both for the good things they did

Some people seem to think that Steve Parent has questionable motives. I for one see both sides and think that he is a help to the revolution and than him for what he has done to further the cause.

Steve Parent really pushed the process of getting people to become delegates, if he profits from his radio station, and helps the revolution along that is fine with me. Do you all want to waste your time debating Steve Parent's character? It seems that if you do, the neocons win, period. Devote your time building your own character, and further the Revolution. We don't have time for this shit.

I did not like the way he treated Trevor one bit but he was knowledgeable on the delegate issue. Then heard him on the radio when there was another guest on with a the fellow in Japan. He really came off full of himself. You

He is the sort of friend that sometimes really grates on your nerves as he seems condescending at times. In fact, I was having trouble tonight listening to his scolding on Revolution Broadcasting! But, for the most part, he is a valuable friend. He is knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to educate on the delegate process with good results, and I have no reason to doubt that he is a committed Ron Paul supporter.

Steve has a problem with is his incapacity to view those less knowledgeable in the political process as being equal. His only fault is reflection. Maybe he too was once put down for his lack of knowledge, and so studied hard and learned the ropes. There is a big difference between being 'smart' and being 'intellegent'. One that is 'smart' has focused his energy on gaining knowledge, the purpose of this 'knowledge' is used as a defence mechanism. It is the movement of insecurity trying to become secure, it is the fear of being made 'small' through intellectual argument, and the feeling of needing to be able to defend oneself in the event that this may happen in the future. There is quite a difference with intellegence. Intellegence begins with the perception that there is total equality between all living things. There too is the perception that there is no 'absolute' knowledge, for knowledge is always building upon itself. Intellegent is the brain that is always questioning, inquiring into its current experience. It is easily seen in children. To be less educated, less knowledgeable about the things created by man is no sign, no measurement, of unintellegence. The intellegent person is he who experiences compassion, which is the ability to understand your fellow man by seeing that he is the reflection of you. That does not mean that you are sad because he is sad, or you are happy because he is happy, it means you are understanding/open to his sadness/happiness for it is not alien to you. For example the 'smart' person says 'I understand your sadness, I've felt like that before and this is what you should do to fix it'. The 'intellegent' person says, 'I understand you are sad, I am here for you.'

Steve is smart, and so are many, many millions of other people in this world. It is they who butt heads with each other through 'my knowledge' as opposed to 'your knowledge'. It is the intellegent/compassionate person that is lacking in this world. It is they who approach problems as puzzles, as something only resolveable through questioning, inquiring into the current experience.

I am just not interrested in buying what he is selling. Is it the salesman or the service? I can't tell you, I'm not sure.

Use the search function on DP to read the threads started by "SGP".

If you're so inclined, *register* to login at RonPaulForums.com to use its search capability for threads started by "drsteveparent".

Another reason you need to login there is that many, many threads related to "Dr. Steve Parent" have been moved by the moderators to "The Vent" or to "Hot Topics" forums (near bottom of forums list) that are only listed/viewable for logged in people.

Also, note how many of the "Dr. Steve Parent" threads have the "locked" icon (padlock on the icon in the left column lists of threads)

The "New Posts" tab works across all forums, again while logged in (auto logout seems to be 8-10 minutes with no activity).

Skim the flame posts (usually very short) - look at the longer posts for evidence published to support the many different concerns expressed.

Read with an open mind and see what conclusions you draw.

Three areas (it's more than just the delegate instruction process):
1. Validity of delegate information that was taught
2. RP national delegate plans for the national convention in September
3. New role of RevolutionBroadcasting and why that business should get preferential treatment on RP forums, when it is *not* dedicated to Ron Paul.

has been nothing but helpful to me. He has tried to help us here in Nevada; & before the convention, he answered some questions for me when I had nowhere to turn (like how come I was being told it was going to cost $5,000 to be a delegate to the national convention). Even though he has very strong ideas about what's to be done, he's never criticized. I've always winced when people attacked him on here as I felt his motives were always true. I just wish Ron Paul's national office had used his expertise, I think he would have been a tremendous asset.

I second what others have said. Steve Parent has been a valuable asset to this movement. You can hear him on Revolution Broadcasting and find out why for yourself.

His early admissions he was a pretty condescending prick. Accused us of not knowing what we were doing and trying to take total credit for education in the delegate process. This prior to him being involved in any meet-up and had to be slapped into getting with this part of the community. The meet-up had/ have been going longer than SGP and virtually all of my delegate education came from my meet-up NOT SGP. So if he really wanted to do some good he should not have burned those bridges and get with the meet-ups.

HE POST'S TO HIS OWN THREADS BURYING ALL OTHER POSTS WITH HIS CAP WHORING AND DOES PARTICIPATE IN ANY THREADS BUT HIS OWN.

It only takes a short time listening to him before he hates on the truthers. So truth isn't really something he's interested in. He has openly attacked other people like Trevor Lyman and Alex Jones both have dome far more for the movement that SGP could even dream of.

Did I mention he's not a delegate. But yet he is THE self proclaimed expert "leading" us in the delegate wars. Ask him why. I think it's something about being a democrat right up till the revolution started making headway.

I think what it is, is that he has used typical trolling techniques on his own people which is a little hypocritical if you believe that principle is 100%. I've really tried to stay out of it. He may be on our side but does that give him cart blanche to be a self important condescending ass? I'm not really an expert on SGP though nor do I care to be.

But it does suck when you have thread up that you want feedback on and SGP and SGP related thread such as this one clogs the boards with controversy.

There is no other site quite like this one and it can be tough at times! You will find so much information, talent and wonderful personalities here that it can boggle your mind at times. It has been an invaluable source of information and positive energy for me. However, be aware that we do have some disinfo people here..other campaigns ..other agendas ..personal attacks for whatever reason and you have to use your best judgement.

Personally, I commend everyone that is a positive force here..we do not all agree on everything but all are given a chance to be heard.

When I see constant negative posts from the same ones over and over then I question if they are trying to divide or perhaps have a personal problem with someone. In Steves case he has put up with alot more than I could if I was only trying to help and I commend him for that. Is he trying to make money off of DP ? LOL! I do not think that is the case at all because if I were him and that was my agenda I would have been outta here with the frustration he has endured! Has he lost it sometimes? Yes..but I would have also considering the ridiculous posts to discredit. Many delegates will attest that he has been helpful in educating and promoting them to learn. Some of the naysayers are from failed start up radio shows that didnt quite make it and some of the hosts from those went over to RevolutionBroadcasting..so there is bad blood there ...and some are McCain supporters that do not want to see us educated on the delegate process!

Ok, I said it...thats my take on it!

PS Also, Steve plays a damn mean guitar and has some incredible original music ...not many have heard that ...but I heard a few clips on the radio show and he is really really good! Music is the universal language and an evil person could never have played like that! ;- )

Then I can guarantee you that those other members, for whatever reason, drew first blood.

Steve Parent has been invaluable to Ron Paul's campaign as far as the delegate process is concerned.

We wouldn't even have any news about Nevada, Idaho, or Washington if Steve Parent didn't relentlessly promote the delegate process and encourage people to become delegates.

Thank You Steve Parent.

Dr Parent has committed the egregious sin of working his butt off to educate the Forces of Paulness in the arcane ways of the Republican delegate process without first asking permission of his hysterical detractors.

No wonder he's so reviled. He has accomplished enormous progress for us without apology or shame.

He was not front lines, but definately a positive force in our effort here.

2nd... be fair about Steve Parent. Give him a chance. He has done a lot for our movement. He has helped many people (including some of the people who now "complain") learn about the delegate process. So many people would not have learned if it were not from him. Yes, he does get upset with some people... that is because many people have turned on him and begun a full out attack. Ignore them, listen to his message (weed through the complaints about trolls, etc) and come to your own conclusions.
