why RON PAUL is PUNK ROCK!

at least in my opinion...

if some were confused or worried about JR's support of RP... it should be known that RP's views are not to FAR from the fundamental views of PUNK ROCKERS.

i was a hardcore punkrocker back in the mid to late 80's before green day sold out, and this whole new emo fad took root...

during those days we would scripe the anarchy symbol with the circled A symbol on anything we could find... from school folders, t-shirts, walls... actually anything that could absorb ink... even our skin. we used old school WW2 terms such as "you facist..." or "hey pinko..." when talking smack against our parents, teachers, or any other authority figures. and we were very suspcious and angry towards the government... however we were never taken seriously. probably due to our unusual grooming and fashion statments, and we were kind of bullyish (and drunk) during our goverment rantings... or whatever.

but fundamentally (atho not actively) we were dissenters... and that's what we did. unfortunately we didn't have a lot of the knowledge or insight of what's really going on, no real understanding of politics or politicians, and nobody in the mainstream to even associate themselves with us.

we were much more of a minority on our views than now... but that's probably coz there wasn't any thought of WAR in the future.

sooo... for anybody who can relate to that whole time and period... and who was as big of a sex pistols fan as i was obviously has also heard of the dead kennedys. another huge punk rock band from back in the day... and even if u weren't part of the scene, i'm sure u have heard of them before... and their frontman... jello biafra.... who many may not know was not only very politically minded in his music and lyrics, was also active in politics himself. as a matter of fact he ran against arnold for govenor of california back in 2004 ( i believe )...

and here's a link to one of his rally's in san fran (i think... :)

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

does that speech kind of remind u of somebody???

so ya... the fact that JR seemed to be supporting RP was probably because JR's political views are very much in step with RP. i could be very wrong since i have nothing but my opinion and personal history to back this... but it seems to make very practical sense.

and with that said...

is RON PAUL PUNK ROCK?!?

not in the entire literal sense... altho if somebody has a pic of him in a mohawk... i'd be totally blown away...

but in the fundamental sense of the ideas... i guess u could also call him a hippy...

but now were getting into groups, and categories... and i don't think Dr. Paul would like that...

but it is kind of cool to think of him as being PUNK ROCK...

:)

Nostalgia

I remember the early days of Punk, the one before you a bit in fact. The Ramones, Patti Smith group, TheClash, as well as all the lesser know bands from CBGBs.

Anyway, in 1980 I was considering who to vote for in the presidential election. there was Carter, Reagan and John Anderson. I was leaning to Anderson, but then ran into a few guys with a table promoting Ed Clark, the libertarian, they passed out this little green booklet about libertarianism. Now that music and libertarianism goes together for me.

He's universal

Freedom and Liberty appeal to all. Ron Paul's appeal is universal. When you break it down we're all in this life together. You can either divide people up because groups are much easier to bully, OR We can stand united and voice our opinion!!! LONG LIVE FREEDOM AND LIBERTY!
