Dear DAILY PAUL owner, Manny please remove the FLAG feature. Ron Paul is about Freedom and Liberty. Flagging has hindered our RP Revolution and stifled discussions on strategies. Below are a list of individuals that flagg all the time. We are adults, we don't want the government censoring us, the MSM media censoring us, for the life of me I cannot believe we RP Patriots should be censoring ourselves. Lord knows we get censored everywhere else, from conservative websites to everywhere else.
This is the one place where we should be FREE to speak our minds. Please end and remove the Flagging Feature.

There is nothing wrong with someone writting in Ron Paul.
to them it would not be a waisted vote. But to flag others who see this as a waisted vote is just wrong and its an abuse of the flag feature. I respect everyones ideas on the subject and would like to hear debate. In having interchange of ideas we might find there is a great alternative. We for sure won't know if we don't talk about this important issue.

I choose to believe those usually thoughtful people on this site who continue with a Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag are being purposefully ironic. I suspect they offer their impetuous arguments (sic) in support of the Flag as a Straw Man to illustrate how false reasoning can cause the r`EVOLution to devolve into the pushing and shoving which denies us the Blessings of Liberty to which we aspire.

Owner's Rules
The owner of the microphone gets to turn it on or off as he sees fit. He may do so himself, or delegate that privilege to any guest he chooses. If I don't like those rules then my recourse is to play in someone else's yard. I have not been trespassed against when Billow cuts off HIS microphone on HIS time. I may think he's rude, and may elect never to play with him again, but I have no case to make that he is necessarily abusing me.

Premature? We have five months and the clock is ticking. After the September convention we have less than two months. In my opinion, that's inadequate time if WE NEVER FORM A PLAN.

fwiw. And yes it's manystrom's site but I am sure he is interested in what the users think. The upgrade was supposed to provide moderators which would have fixed the problem. If there is something that desperately needs flagging, then it would get flagged by manystrom or maybe making it to need 15 or 20 flags to push something into the flag queue so only the really bad stuff gets there.

The interest in doing a Great American Walk for Freedom has swelled significantly in the first week of exploring the idea. It looks like there will be some kind of Walk for Freedom to Minneapolis ending at Ron Paul’s big rally there on September 1st or 2nd. If all goes according to plan and we pull our Walk off properly, Ron Paul will join us for the final few miles. My vision: Ron Paul leading 25,000 walkers into the city for a Grand Finale rally (hey, think big..why not?).
Right now we are looking at two routes: from Green Bay to Minneapolis and from Ames, Iowa to Minneapolis.
We would like to start each route with 500 people (78 minimum, the number that Gandhi had when he started the Salt March, 500 is what MLK walked with to Montgomery; we already have 40 pledged to walk the distance!).
We are thinking in terms of each walker as an Ambassador of Freedom. We would like to focus not just on making a grand display but on doing outreach as we go...stopping to talk with people, give out books and literature and hosting Town Hall Meetings in each town we pass through to talk with folks, answer questions and also meet with media.
It’s a grand vision but logistically will be a big challenge. We will need a big supply/logistics team to manage food, sleeping/rest, facilities ect...
Other teams needed:
--Logistics
--Media/PR
--Registration/Deployment of walkers
--Community Relations
--Legal Team
--Internet team (web site, blogging, daily YouTubes)
--Fundraising
No doubt there is more. This will be a huge project and will require the true support of our Ron Paul/Freedom community. That will include financially. It will take money to make this happen.
I am personally visioning something that is a watershed event, much as the Gandhi and MLK walks were at their respective times and places. I hope you will share that vision, or at least vision something compatible with it. Lots of people are starting to take this general idea and are working off of it in various ways, and that’s great. Let’s see a great big outburst of that Ron Paul Revolution creativity, cooperation and good will.
If you are planning on walking, please make a YouTube asap telling people why you will be walking for freedom, a little bit about yourself and your thoughts about the Walk. Be sure to send us the like asap!

I want to here the site owner say that I must set around and make sure Ron Pauls name is in every sentence. I want to here him say I must worship Ron Paul like he's a god. I want to here him say that no other candidate that Ron would agree with on issues can not be discussed. I want to here him say there are a small group of people who have this higher power over all other posters on the forum. I want to her him say we must put up with the flag tyranny from these flagglers without speaking out against them. I welcome the comments from the owner. Please go get him and bring him out. I want the flag question addressed by the owner himself. Not people who are members of the GOP trying to stear all the subscribers vote into the toilet. I am a Ron Paul activist SO when I see someone doing wrong I act I don't set and take it.

The off-topic stuff, which some people want deleted, is what keeps the site thriving, busy, and healthy.
On the other hand, IveSeentheConst makes a good case for it being an on-topic Ron Paul only site, and if I'm reading the tea leaves correctly, the owner of the site agrees. (Read his guidelines for banning members.)
If the owner of the site is reading this post, however, I respectfully call for a change in the rules. Because if posts that are not directly pertinent to Ron Paul's presidential campaign are deleted, and people enforce this with flagging, people who make thoughtful posts or engage in debates will stop posting, and eventually the only thing you will have here is a dwindling number of one-liner posts and monosyllabic grunts and "attaboy Rons".
Flag wars from people with multiple accounts are starting now too (see the comments below). It invites abuse from both would-be censors and hotheads who want to teach the censors a lesson. It will get out of control very soon.
The flag deletion is getting serious now, so I respectfully request Mr. Nystrom address this issue, please.

I am glade you were not on here yesterday when this happend. They are deleting any post that people talk about stratagy of takes about anyone other than Ron Paul. I watched as the took down tregs thread. It was one of the best threads I've seen on this forum. some of the posters were sending their friends and family menmbers to it them blame its gone. I'm teeling you it this doesn't stop I have made 7 accounts and I fully intend to delete every word they put on this board. If its a flag war they want its a flag war they get. Um....Ron's said he's lost
Um....Ron's said he's lost it repeatedly in televised and audio interviews. At this point, in fact, he's moved on to saying he doubts they will even let him speak at the convention. He has also made recent remarks discouraging any attempt at taking McCain's delegates.
He is clearly in the race now to educate, so, yes, he is still in the race, and yes, he's making great strides there, but there is absolutely no way he is going to win the nomination. I think now that the primary season is about over, it's safe to say that, isn't it? If Ron Paul is saying it, why can't we say it?
The only way he'd win the nomination now would be if Romney, McCain, and Huckabee were all struck simultaneously by a two-ton meteor.

It doesn't prevent people from flagging.
It just makes the process more transparent.

Flagging is the only way to moderate the troll attacks that we sometimes experience. I do not know what you wrote that got flagged so I cannot say on if I would have flagged it or not. But the ability to flagg is important. I know that sometime posts get flagged for poor reasons.

Flagging needs to stay!
Inability to flag limits are right to free speech. The purpose of freedom is do right, not wrong; otherwise a "free" society in some people's eyes would have NO rules. I, for one, would never want to live in such a society. The rules should be set by a standard that is impeccable - such as the Ten Commandments. Such was the case in the founding of our blessed country. However, we have strayed so far from the Word of God that our society is on the verge of collapse. Many who scream for freedom want freedom for themselves only (and people who agree with them).
Hence, flagging ensures the right of the people who do have some standard of decency to express it.
People with no moral values can, and often do flag those who express their moral values. I can handle that. But to not be able to flag when something is blatantly wrong would cause me to never want to visit this site again.

Knock it off you flaggits. In all seriousness, it sometimes is a good feature, it sometimes is an abused feature. I remain neutral, more out of indecision, on the topic. that's a tough call. I think flagging has its pros actually, anybody remember onevoiceofreason? I thank God for flagging in that case.
Here's an analogy you might understand
MTV started out as all music all the time. Then they added "the Real World" and alot of people liked it. Then they added "the Osbournes" and others like that too. And before you knew it, it was all just a bunch of stupid shows and crap - No Music!
So, people that wanted to see all music all the time canceled their subscriptions in favor of another station in disgust.
