Group wants more flouride in public water

Health advocates rallied in the Capitol Monday for a bill to require more fluoride in public drinking water, saying it would help low-income people avoid serious dental problems and save taxpayer money.
The rally was led by PAFluorideNOW, a new coalition of public health advocates who are backing a bill sponsored by Rep. Stephen Barrar, R-Delaware.
The bill would require water systems with at least 500 connections to have the recommended level of fluoride.
About half of the state is served by water systems with the optimal level of fluoride, advocates say.
All water has a small amount of fluoride because it occurs naturally, but not enough to satisfy backers of Barrar's plan.
"We need to get people treatment before they have mass decay in their mouths," said Robin Rohrbach of the Healthy York County Coalition, which has been pushing for higher fluoride levels for more than 13 years.
While the bill is also backed by groups such as the Pennsylvania Rural Health Association, fluoridated water is a controversial issue.
Some critics claim it poses hidden dangers, such as the potential to cause bone disease, and they say mandating it would be an unwanted government intrusion.
Barrar's bill won initial approval from the House Health and Human Services Committee last year, and it is now pending in the Appropriations Committee, where its fate is uncertain.
Committee spokeswoman Johnna Pro said lawmakers have varying opinions on the issue and she could not predict if Barrar's bill will move.
"It's one of those issues that on the surface doesn't appear controversial, but in fact it is," Pro said.
York Water Co. does not add fluoride to its water, but will add it only to water in West Manheim Township when it takes over the township's system later this year. The company agreed to continue adding fluoride when it agreed last year to acquire the township system.
York Water Co. president Jeff Hines said he sees fluoride as a health policy matter that should be decided by elected officials, and the company would comply if the state mandates it. He also questioned why the debate centers on water and not other liquids.
"I guess my philosophical question is: Why put it in water and not something that gets ingested like milk, orange juice or soda?" Hines said.
While backers of Barrar's bill admit it would cost more to add fluoride to water systems, they say it would save money over the long term by cutting Medicaid payments for the insured with acute dental problems.
"If you think you're not paying for it now, you are," said Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-York, a co-sponsor.
Barrar cited estimates that at least $38 would be saved for every dollar spent on fluoridating water.

Combat Flouride buildup
Research Boric Acid.. it can be used to chleat flouride buildup in the body!
Thanks for the tip.
This MSDS says it's pretty dangerous, I guess it depends on the quantity?

I found a few links that said Borax, I'll do some more looking...

It's about as reactive as table salt.
Salt irritates your eyes when you put it directly in them. Try diluting it. Boric Acid or Borax is what they give kids who eat tooth paste and have flouride poisoning.

BOHICA!!
What jumped out at me was
York Water Co. president Jeff Hines.
Must be related to John Kerry, because he feels that this is a decision for elected officials i.e. he is not interested in the people's opinion.
Reminds me of "I'm not concerned about the voters" Willard Romney.
Have you ever seen what fluoride poisoning looks like ?
It is not pretty , I don't understand how in this day and age they could get away with this since they have done study after study that states fluoride has no dental benefits ?

This will help to filter out most arsenic and fluoride but is not as good as reverse osmosis or distilling as far as I know.
Nothing like forced medication through our drinking water. You don't get a choice - you must ingest the fluoride thanks to idiots like those in York and across the country.

Because of fluoridated water, now a lot of processed foods and sodas, even fresh veggies and fruit, have a fair to large amount of fluoride in them. So, when your water is fluoridated, you are also getting fluoride in many other sources.
A list of how much fluoride is in some processed foods: http://www.fluoridealert....
"The increase in percentage of communities with fluoridated water has resulted in an increase in the mean content of fluoride not only in soft drinks and fruit juices, but in canned goods (notably soups), leading to increased intake of fluoride by individuals in communities with nonfluoridated water."

There are
several interesting articles about the dangers of fluoridation at naturalnews.com. What scares me is that some fluoridation projects use industrial waste for fluoridation. How can that possibly be good? Researcing these types of nonsense tactics is how I learned about Ron Paul....
Anyway, here's one article:

To read more of them just go to naturalnews.com and type in fluoridation...
Fluoride is known to be one of the best cockroach poisons.
Perhaps that's how they consider the general population, as cockroaches, something you have to get rid of. What better way to do it via drinking water, either tap and now also in bottled water.
The negative health implications are rather severe. One just of the top of my head is interference with thyroid function (it meddles with the absorption of needed iodine) and many many auto immune diseases have manifested as a result.
I am only aware of 2 methods of eliminating fluoride from drinking water: distilling or through reversed osmosis. Are there any knowledgeable people here who know other solutions?

I got the Berkey Lite. It's great!
I got it for $209 on eBay, free shipping. Sounds expensive, but its well worth it. Certainly cheaper than buying bottled water (which is probably fluoridated anyways!)

Make sure you get yourself a PF-2 filter if you pick one up. The berkey carbon filters are great, but they don't take care of fluoride.

Maybe they should ban juice.
According to my neighbor that has taken in 38 foster children over the past 20 years, their teeth rot because they were put to bed repeatedly with a bottle of juice. The decay can be so bad that most of the baby teeth have to be pulled out. This is due to ignorant, lazy, parenting not because there is not enough fluoride in the water.
Food for thought...
The .gov is spreading this propaganda across the country. Think about their last target, tobacco. The anti smoking campaign is presented to the people to be a safety measure that will reduce insurance and medical cost, but in article after article you can find that the pharmaceutical companies have held back drugs which will cure major diseases but the .gov does not make them push out these meds so that the pharma companies can profit on treatment instead of cure. Even known cancer treatments that have shown huge leaps in not only controlling, but some that have brought terminal patients into remission, and these treatments were outlawed in the US. Radio wave cancer treatment has been blocked by your government for the last 40 years, and people still cheer them blindly. I look at this election cycle and the effect that the media as on the general public. What I see is really telling, and it also shows that the .gov controlled schools are really paying off for the political leaders of this country. I associate this with the football mentality. Many Americans have a favorite college football team, and year after year they support the one team regardless of their records of victory. Politicians use the very same tactic on te sheep that accept what their party leaders do and say blindly, because regardless of their record they will follow party lines blindly, and this is how we in these United States have come close to financial collapse. Many do not think we are in financial turmoil, they think it is our leaders best interest to keep the economy pumping and look over the reality that a poor impoverished America will do one thing, give the political members great powers as they are the only relief many people would be able to seek for assistance. So as these blind sheep cheer their party members with little to no knowledge of their policies gas prices shoot through the roof, taxes are at record highs and going to go higher, and the sheeple move on without a second guess where their dollars are going, and it appears that there is little concern about these items that effect every family of non privilege in this country. When gas hits 8.00 a gallon perhaps then the people will turn off American Idol long enough to decide on their own that we need change. This will eventually occur, and I hope it is sooner than later.
The Bush administration has done nothing for American families, they are pro illegal immigration, Pro Corporation, anti family, and the GOP state caucuses reflect the party liners that will follow their party to the complete and total collapse of this country. I base this on the fact that 73% of Americans are against illegal immigration and are willingly giving up their constitutional rights in the name of protection (the kind of protection that was given during 9/11, and the support given to the victims of Katrina) all the while leaving the boarders open against the will of the people. These so called leaders no longer care to represent the people of this country, and this election cycle shows no relief of improving this aspect of our lives in the United States. These are simple observations, and I would love someone to debate or disagree with anything I posted above, perhaps if nothing else to help me make sense of it all.

excellent information to digest...
a "dumbed down" america kept "informed" by government authorized media is a recipe for national collapse...too bad we'll all die in a false-flag attack before we can do anything about it
O'rly?
"Even known cancer treatments that have shown huge leaps in not only controlling, but some that have brought terminal patients into remission, and these treatments were outlawed in the US. Radio wave cancer treatment has been blocked by your government for the last 40 years, and people still cheer them blindly."
So you would prefer we turn off the linear accelerators down the hall which are actually capable of killing targeted cells using modulated high-energy photons and electrons in favor of what... longwave radio? Do you know what a wavelength is? Do you know how photons deposit energy in matter?
Before you state something like "these treatments were outlawed in the US" please keep in mind there are many countries combating cancer on all fronts. If something viable were banned here, it would surface elsewhere. Patients would subsequently flock to this foreign cure, leading our cancer centers to either close or adapt.
nice job, mekantor...
