HELP-Need Short, Concise Phrase!

EDIT: City Hall gave us a reprieve -- we now have until 5pm Pacific tomorrow 6/5/08 to come up with a name, so please keep your WONDERFUL suggestions coming. And thank you so very much!!!

===

Our Meetup is submitting our application today to march in a local 4th of July parade.

The city's new rules state that we can carry only two signs, both of which are limited to the name of our group.

I have 3 and a half hours to submit a name for our group. That means, by 4:30pm Pacific Time I need to have a name on a form.

We could use "Ron Paul Meetup", but I wonder whether we should use a different phrase for the purposes of this parade march.

The goal is to alert the community to the message of the revolution, and that there are people in the community devoted to actively working towards these goals.

To use the phrase "Ron Paul R3volution" would accomplish this; however, we are in an area that is very much behind the "presumptive nominee" (you know, for the good of the party and all that). A name containing "Ron Paul" anything may very likely be quickly dismissed by spectators. That's why I'm asking for your help!!!

- What is a good, effective, concise name to use?
- We want to reach people, invite them to recognize the importance of the Constitution
- Perhaps just our Meetup number and "Republicans for Liberty" or "Defending our Constitution" or ????

HELP, please!!

How 'bout this?

In honor of the Culpeper Minutemen (the original revolutionaries), "Don't tread on me." Or "Give me liberty or give me death!"

Caught in the middle?

Give me Liberty or give me

"Google"search Ron Paul

The rest will fall into place from there. You need to sent these people somewhere to get more info. Hopefully they will figure this sign out. Keep up the great work.

Maybe take the cue

from Ron Paul and use "Champions of the Constitution" it says it all without having to use his name. There would be no possible problem with the spectators thinking it was for McCain as he has probably never uttered the word Constitution in public, but how could anyone dismiss such a patriotic phrase. Whatever you choose good luck.

We the people DO NOT want national ID

I think you should pick up one important issue like national ID or war.
"Republicans for peace"
Something to make ppl think about it.
Like "Iran has no army and we don't need to atack them"

'Who would The World Elect 2008?

Don't use "Republican".

If you're looking for new support, I wouldn't use "Republican" or "GOP" in your sign, that's a negative too.

"Liberty" is good, but "freedom" is probably better understood and more universally valued. So maybe, "Freedom For All".

"Equality" is generally valued too, so you can get that in there as well: "Equal Freedom For All".

Or, to be more quaint and personal: "Equal Freedom For You and Me".

Or: "Restore Our Freedoms".
Or: "Defending Freedom"
Or: "Defending Freedom For All"
Or: "Defending Freedom for You and Me"
Or: "Defending Freedom Equally for All"

A different tack is to clearly convey that you stand for individual responsibility as well as freedom.

"Individual Freedom and Responsibility"
"Defending Individual Freedom and Responsibility"
"Defenders of Individual Freedom and Responsibility"

Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Hope™-- The Official Slogan of Obamamania

I love the official RP HQ slogan of "Hope for America" since that so clearly says what RP and the Revolution movement truly brings...sadly, however, I think many people now associate HOPE™ (imagine that in big, pulsing neon letters) with Obamination. We definitely do not want to be mistaken for Obama supporters! So despite the "Hope for America" phrase plastered on the RP HQ signs, I think we'll shy away from that particular word. I like your other suggestions!

I'm passing along all these great ideas to our Meetup, btw! Keep the brainstorms coming!

it makes sense

gets the foundational message across.

The Constitution is Revolutionary

Viva la R3volution (ok that was for fun)

Remember the Constitution

Go Ron Paul!

Traditional Constitutional Values

maybe? People are suckers for seeing the young generation using words like "values" and "tradition". Theyre feel good words that when seen on telivision wont evoke animosity.

Ooh, I like that

The "Ron Paul" message will be told by our attire :) and I think your suggestion would get the interest and support of the members of our community -- after all, they wouldn't boo "traditional Constitutional values", would they?! (Tell me they wouldn't!!!)

In answer to someone else's question, this is in Sunny So Cal, and we are *not* allowed to pass out anything to the crowd -- no cards, slim jims, candy, etc. Which is too bad, because we had some awesome plans for distributing items to the crowd. They won't even allow us to pass out free bottles of water to the spectators.

Well, we can do that...if we do it separately from marching, and buy a $1M insurance bond for $200...

Unless there are more suggestions, I think I'll go with "Traditional Constitutional Values" with our Meetup.com number on the signs.

Thanks!!
