Ron Paul backers not part of 'cult'
repost-
In response to front page articles on the Republican candidate for President, Ron Paul, I'd like to make some comments and corrections. On Saturday, May 24, he called supporters "a cult-like following," and on Sunday, June 1, he called Dr. Ron Paul a "renegade candidate."

I am a Republican delegate from Douglas County, who happens to be a supporter of Ron Paul, and I am offended that (the article) would call me a cult member. I have been a Republican for 42 years. I'm a teacher and homemaker. Dr. Ron Paul is a 10-term U.S. Republican representative from Texas who has always stood for the law of the land and has consistently voted to uphold it. So I take it that if you want to get this country back to obeying the Constitution and you disagree with how the Republican Party is run, that you are "cult-like" and a "renegade." What does that say about our freedom of speech and the freedom of exchanging ideas and views? Don't we all have that right under our Constitution? But to name-call and put erroneous labels on people is disrespectful and unprofessional as a journalist.
In the June 1 article, (it) also said that all 287 delegates that were contested because "they were members of the Libertarian or Constitution parties or didn't follow the rules when getting elected delegates." That is false. Only the 53 delegates that did not get seated were challenged of that, not all 287. When the vast majority of them were challenged, they asked why they were being contested and were given this answer: "Because you support Ron Paul."
These delegates were elected from their counties all over Missouri to represent them at the GOP conventions. To contest them was an effort to silence their voices. To treat them that way was degrading. Does that sounds like a free and ethical way of conducting the Republican party? I think not!

There is a whole political disinformation war
going on with the word "cult." Huge segments of the population now fit into the governments new definition. One of the acts, Patriot, not sure, has given our government the right to do whatever they want with "cult" members. Using the word in an article may look kind of silly and innocent, but it positively is not. I've seen a film of Janet Reno defining cult and every single Christian fits, every person who shows unhappiness with our government fits.
I really appreciate this letter. This is very necessary. We need to take our government back.
with this kinda stuff going
with this kinda stuff going on does McCain really think he has a chance against obama! the republicans are going to have their heads handed to them in november!
