The Truth: By Rhino

Facts and truths are a funny thing. They cannot be disputed, no matter what. If a theory does not qualify under this rule, then one should be skeptical.

The earth is currently defined as a spherical planet. The U.S. greenback has ink on it that has been defined as a shade of green. Aluminum is one of the elements on the currently defined periodic chart. Beer contains water among other things. My dog has four legs.

Having said that, we can all have opinions about things based on the empirical evidence.

O.J. was probably guilty. The theory of gravity seems sound and I consider it a fact and truth. Smoking cigarettes is bad for everyone. Ron Paul is the best candidate for the job of the President of the United States.

And finally, we all have certain things that we take as truth based on simply faith.

I believe in God. My wife and I will be together forever. I am not going to die tomorrow. Freedom will eventually reign in my lifetime. I have never had a DNA test, but I consider my parents to be my biological parents.

I am an objectivist.

Objectivists believe that there are absolute truths.

We believe facts exist.

We believe that we are born with ethics.

We believe that there are absolute rights and absolute wrongs.

We believe that selfishness is the only ethical motivation for action.

We believe in freedom.

We are skeptical people, but we are also optimists.

Whenever you say things, make sure you are clear about where it falls and do your best to convey it in that manner. You will be judged by others.
