Paul and Baldwin to address John Birch Society
Ron Paul and Chuck Baldwin will be addressing the John Birch Society at it’s 50th Anniversary Celebration in Appleton, Wisconsin. Also attending will be Aaron Zelman, Larry Pratt, Oklahoma State Senator Randy Brogdon, Arizona State Senator Karen Johnson, and Utah Representative Stephen Sandstrom–all of whom are friendly towards the Constitution Party.

I Wish I Could Be There!
I only wish I could attend. I've been a supporter of Dr. Paul since he first entered Congress after the 1976 election. Solid voting record.

The goals of Ron Paul and the John Birch Society are the same. I suggest you join a JBS.org Freedom Alliance Meetup. Check out http://jbs.meetup.com/38

We should all contact the Constitution Party ...
... and ask what we can do to help them get ballot access. I'm sure they could use the help.
I understand that even ditto heads are calling Limbaugh and angrily denouncing the McCain nomination. If they won't even support him, McCain is toast! He's about as popular as the original "frontrunners," Rudy and Hillary.
I truly think it's time for a third party try! What have we got to lose? Baldwin is a great writer and thinker.
I''ve been voting for the Constitution Party candidates since the early 1990's. They don't waffle.
Agreed; I'm hoping sincerely
Agreed; I'm hoping sincerely that Chuck Baldwin will receive Dr. Paul's endorsement soon. If he did, his campaign would take off like a skyrocket.

Totally Agree
Chuck Baldwin 2008 .... the message is the reason to vote - nothing else.
This is no time to vote against someone nor is it a year for party allegiance.
Constitution Party is the only logical extension of Ron Paul's message.
check out the new Baldwin website www.baldwin08.com
now is the time for all of us for CB to get in gear to help educate and let
others know there is more than 2 major parties and other reasons to
vote - like, for a change - on the issues!
Well
Exactly how do they handle the separation of Church and State? What role do they think Christianity should have in government???

remember CB is running on the same Freedom Message as Dr Paul.....
Chuck Baldwin opens his mouth and Ron Paul still falls out

The "separation of church
The "separation of church and state" is currently overenforced. Federal courts that prohibit religious displays are engaging in judicial overreach. The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no Law respecting the establishment of religion", not that the purpose of government is to create a Disneyland for Christophobes.
I do think the federal government is currently meddling too much in religion, although Obama has already stated his intention to leave Bush's "Faith Based Initiatives" in effect. McCain probably would too, if he were somehow elected President.
Most issues like this are covered under the Ninth and Tenth Amendments in a proper constitutional interpretation. I'd like to think the CP would take that approach.
SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States
The CP believes in the
separation of Church and State, but not in the forced separation of Christian morality influencing the State -- what Ron Paul believes.
Morality will influence the State because there is no such thing as "neutrality". The only question left is what morality will influence the State. Do we want Ron Paul's morality to influence the State, or Clinton's, or Muslim morality, or what?
exactly
This is what I have been asking, only to get attacked by moral fascists...
It bothers me to no end that Chuck Baldwin adds the name Jesus Christ to our Constitution.....this seems to be telling everyone who either believes in a different God or none at all, that they are wrong...
At least he is not a Christian Zionist.....like the ones McCain is courting....i think they are called McChristians!!!!
They don't seem
to have anything in their platform about establishing any official gov't religion, which would be referred to by the 1st Amendment.
From reading the platform statement, it appears they feel Christianity has been an influence on the men who have founded this gov't, and they wish to follow suit. A position of men being guided by principles, religious or otherwise, is not the same as government "establishing" anything. People are guided by many things. In the overall scheme of things, religion is one of the more benign things to be guided by, considering what we're currently seeing as the alternative.
This Is A Quote From CB Site
"As a Christian he knows that faith is something a person has to own and hold dear but can never be forced into."
If you go to his site you will see he understands freedom of religion
(or no religion) There is a youtube floating around where CB talks about
religion - I will find and post under this comment.
I don't think you have to fear Baldwin being like a Huck or Robertson etc...
He is driven by the Constitution - and of course his being a Christian is
going to guide him spiritually (like a Reagan perhaps and other politicians)
how could it not.
Read about him and listen to his videos -
make a decission on his message!

Baldwin is a huge threat to the Bob Barr crowd. This is obvious. He's also a threat to the Bush Repug voting block.

but I think he was hoping for Romney, I like Baldwin too, but if I thought we had a chance writing in Ron Paul, I would.

This is a great idea if there is time. Arkansas would go Baldwin as they went Huckabee if he could get known at ALL. The Const. Party is no longer here, tho it used to be..what can we do?
same here
The same thing happened in my state. The state party is no longer associated with the national party.
I contacted the party and offered my help. Then I created a Chuck Baldwin meetup for my state.
Go here to find your contact:

Since it still lists your state party, you may need to contact the Area Chairman instead.

Yes! And one more thing.
The Constitution Party has the potential to be much bigger and more powerful than the 'Conservatoid Barr Party'. And I'll tell you why:
The valuable Deep South Conservative Christian voting block. These voters are simply ignorant--they're not evil. They're misled. The GOP has lied to them and targeted them.
Chuck Baldwin is the perfect candidate to lead them away from neoconservatism, toward Liberty.

Baldwin might be a better alternative choice than Barr
I haven't done a lot of research, but Baldwin might be a better choice than Barr, at least at first glance. At least Baldwin can write (and therefore think). Not so sure about Barr. He was not impressive on Colbert last night.
In how many states will the Constitution Party be on the ballot?

Yes--Baldwin is not the fanciest speaker in the world, but he's a good writer, and I feel one leads to the other.
Regarding "how many states have ballot access", I feel that's overrated. If we are going to base our philosophy on 'who is most likely to win this year', we should be voting Obama.
I would rather vote with my mind and conscience, and in obedience, if anything, to the Founding documents.

How about moving over in the event Paul DOESN'T win the GOP nomination, and running instead as Ron Paul's VP?

The Constitution Party offered RP their top spot
When he declined, Baldwin stepped up. I suppose it was because RP would have been kicked out of the Repugnant Party and lost his chance to run for and keep his congressional seat. There's something (I'm not sure what) to be said for that.
