Ron Paul Vindicated Again… This Time By Iraqi Officials

June 5th, 2008 12:05 am | by Marc Gallagher | Published in Foreign Policy, Politics, Ron Paul, War | Comment

Two Iraqi officials from the Iraqi Parliament testified today to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Ron Paul asked a series of questions. The answers reveal that the majority of the Iraqi people support an American troop withdrawal with a timetable. Paul also questioned whether or not they object to a continuing U.S. presence in Iraq in the form of a Vatican sized embassy and military bases. Their answers show that they believe such a presence is not in the spirit of diplomacy. Yet again Ron Paul is vindicated on his campaign trail debate rhetoric.

Why isn’t this being plastered all over the main stream media news shows? Later in the testimony Rep. Flake asked if the increase in troops as part of the “surge” was responsible for the drop in violence. The answer from the Iraqi Parliament member was an emphatic ‘no’. The surge is working

Yeah...i said it...please let me finish before you berate me.

The surge is working, but not the part where we sent a few thousand more troops to Iraq...that meant nothing.

The surge worked because of the following reasons...

1) We've paid of Muqata al Sadr to stop attacking us, stop the roaming killing squads, and have basically agreed to let him control certain areas in exchange for temporary peace. Now he has dug in and we nor the Iraqi army has the chance to unseat him. His militia is now a permanent one.

2) We've moved our troops out of areas of low resistance and into Baghdad. Peace has broken out in the areas we've left...hmm, what does that mean...if we leave, they'll stop fighting? The sectarian violence is following where our troops are stationed.

3) Most of our troops are on the huge bases near Baghdad now...they don't have much chance to kill our soldiers because they're hanging out in air conditioned tents playing Xbox. They'll go on patrols, but never into any areas very far from base. Only a fool would attack a US convoy so close to thousands of other troops.

4) They've finished a lot of their ethnic cleansing already...most neighborhoods which were once mixed Sunni/Shia are now one or the other, due to genocidal campaigns and people fleeing.

The country is more fractioned than ever...they are going to have their civil war, it's a foregone conclusion. They're waiting for us to leave and then it'll happen. I'd like for us to leave as soon as possible because I don't us to be in the middle when the country tears itself apart.

Bring em home...let the Iraqi's have their country back.

Enlightening!!!

Boy its sure going to suck for them with that new Security Pact...

I wonder if they know their going to be George Bush's slaves?
