Kentucky State Convention Debacle
Well, Kentucky had its State Convention yesterday, if you want to call it that. We lost all votes 300-225 and were not allowed to speak. There were only 525 delegates out of 2,627 allotted. The first motion we made on the rules was ruled out of order and the sergeant at arms came and confiscated all of the mircophones and stood in front of the podium. Rank and file McCain supporters were also denied a right to speak at the state convention. Delegates stood up trying to voice their opinions with point of orders, clarification, priviledge, but the three hundred voted to pass all motion;eventhough, they did not have the required 2/3 to close debate.
Debate was not allowed and people were threaten with physical violence to be thrown out of the room or the building. Everyone was courteous and the first person to make a motion on the rules cmte. report was called out of order and the second person who was recognized to speak was threatened to be thrown out. (This was before she was even able to make a motion.) Efforts were made after the microphones were confiscated to get the chair to recognize delegates, but were ignored. Then, delegates stood up to appeal the chair's decision and were ignored. The final straw came when a motion was made to remove the chair, but that was ignored and the motion to call the question on the rules cmte report was pushed through. Steve Robertson the Chairman of the Kentucky Republican Party does not have want to hear from rank and file delegates/supporters even if they agree with them.
can you file a class action lawsuit out there??
or something like that...I mean if they break the damn rules they need to be sued, if you do nothing they win .. LOOK AT WHAT TEXAS HAS DONE.....they have a court order to ORDER THE TEXAS GOP TO FOLLOW THE DAMN RULES....so if the Kentucky GOP is doing illegal things and you have enough witnesses , then sue his fricken pants off, FORCE HIM TO EITHER REPAY YOU GUYS FOR ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS, REDO THE CONVENTION, OR AT THE LEAST FORCE HIM OUT OF HIS POSITION....
Well I knew it was gonna happen.
Espically after how we were treated at the 2nd congressional dist a few weeks ago.
Still didn't stop me from trying to spread information. I was the one passing out McCain vs McCain fliers and Ron Paul fliers. That Sgt in arms also wasn't going to allow us to Post Ron Paul signs up on the wall with the McCain signs. Until we threatend to call the police. The Chair finally allowed it. Is there leagal recourse for what happened yesterday? The Kentucky GOP truly are cutting off their nose to spite their face. It was more of a McCain pep rally. I am in disbelif.

Oregon state convention(s)
Here in Oregon, we just had our state convention the past 2 days. We don't choose our national delegates until our congressional district conventions, which happen July 12. We got enough votes for Ron to earn 4 pledged delegates, so we're hopeful that we can get some good people into those slots. Not sure how the voting will be handled, yet.
The state convention was focused mostly on revisiting the state party platform. We were active in all caucuses, with most of our folks offering measured and thoughtful amendments strengthening free market principles. We did have one caucus where a series of very badly written harangues against the Federal Reserve were rammed through, but these were voted down in general assembly the next day. I wish there had been more time to work with the creators of those texts; they were damaging to our credibility due to being so poorly prepared. Other than that, the convention went well; we made a lot of connections and even had our own hospitality suite Friday night, which was reasonably well-attended for about 90 minutes.
No way to tell all the stories from this weekend. I'd have to write a book.

That's quite a big timeframe...
why a whole week???
Arkansas elects delegates at
Arkansas elects delegates at a State Committee meeting 6/12 . The convention is the following month..it is odd. I wish someone from AR or HQ would let me know what to do. I have called, written, no one responds. I hope I can find out b4 voting who to vote for but oh well..I did my duty becoming a delegate to State. Our county has a decent tho misguided GOP and chairman.
Idaho next weekend
We are PROUD to have given Dr. Paul his best popular vote showing at 24% and it has re-energized us! We head to our Convention with high hopes of making all of you proud of us and what we will achieve.
THANK YOU for your support - it really helps!
No Doubt, Idaho is a Star!
Who else has a state convention pending?
IT'S DOABLE
I heard people from Idaho
I heard people from Idaho at the WA State Convention that RP did better than 24% really. Like usual the real numbers were suppressed. Go Idaho! Stomp on em
I think it was the northern counties...
that pulled in 30% or more for RP in Idaho. Not that many turned out to vote, but still, Ron Paul got more votes in all of Idaho than Hillary and Obama COMBINED.

I don't and
I'm with Jdayh in asking the same question. There does not seem to be a master calendar....or is there? Jdayh raises a good point, so at least list your upcoming State Convention if one is planned on this thread.
I'll proudly start: Nevada June 28th!
