It comes down between knowledge and wisdom. He has the knowledge, no he has to attain the wisdom to use it.
Absolutely. Most children
Absolutely. Most children don't even have the knowledge yet though.
This kid is informed.
Sorry I disagree Its a parents responcabilty to be the voice at
schools not children. If a child has a problem at school they should make there voice heard. They sould talk to their parents then the parent should confront the schools. Oh thats right parents are not aloud in the schools anymore until they round all the kids up and get everything looking ok. Then they open the door and let the parents in. See we have huge problems in this area. Children should not be talking back to their teachers. Teachers should be teaching math english and history (that is correct) and science (void of religion [evolution]) and parents should have full access to the school and have a say in what happens in the school. Teachers should not have outside influence from government telling them what or how to teach. cariculum should be chosen by teachers school board and parents. All having say in text books that get brought into the school. But see most people don't want to run for the school board. Teachers come out of this garbage school system and only know the doctrine as it has been taught to them plus they feel underpayed. Parents don't have time in their busy life for their kids and government sees an opertunity to make millions of zombies for the mob. Its a Democracy making machine why wouldn't the government lick their lips when they see the door standing wide open. Public school is a failure for learning. Unless you feel we should continue to pump out the mob. They are close to not needing schools any more. Actually parents are teaching this stuff at home now they have just about accomplished what they wanted to. Mommy and daddy the good little communist can now indoctrinate them in the privacy of their own home. Then children really have no choice. They have no voice at home or at school. They have no other recourse but to speak up with their own mouth. This is why normally revolutions always seem to hit colleges first. Its really sad to watch this country fall apart like this just another reason for people to get involved. When the youth have to start standing up to these people by themselves it says alot about us as parents but it speaks volumes about the American spirit in our children and I'm sure this scares the crap out of the government when the youth can be woke up in the middle or at the end of the indoctrination. Think of all the money they have waisted. Its like feeding us all floride to make us lethargic only we get more energetic and want to fight harder. The more shots they give us the stronger we will probably get. They have mixed so many diffrent things into us that as we bread they might just make us a country of super humans. When they release bird flue it probably won't hurt us we will probably become super furtile. Every thing these people do will end up backfiring on them. They are not God. They are sick. They need a "DOCTOR".

BUMP THIS...
now. everybody keep this bumped.

This is a tough one...
without knowing the whole story. You have to weigh the rights of the children with the fact that the teacher has to maintain some sort of quiet order in the classroom. I've had this talk with my children several times because...
My 14 year old would have reacted the same way. He doesn't put up with the teacher silencing his opinion. He has been sent to the office several times for standing up for his opinion, and his 1st amendment rights. Ususally it starts with the teacher telling the students something questionable about our history... my son questions the teacher (as he is a big-time history buff who reads lots of books about historic events... not just textbooks).. then she tells him to be quiet. He doesn't appreciate the fact that her "facts" don't agree with his "facts" and so he expresses something like, "Just because you are telling these kids that the Civil War was fought over slavery doesn't make it necessarily true. There are other opinions on this subject."
Since the teacher generally doesn't know any other opinions on said subject, she wants to correct my son... when he's just trying to make sure the other kids understand that "history is written by the winners" and that every little "history" taught by the public schools system is simply the opinion of the authors... and that there can be... and is... other opinions about what actually happened.
She'll tell him he's wrong, or to shut up... and then he gets angry and says she's wrong and that the textbook doesn't tell the whole story... and then she tells him to shut up again... and then he goes into the 1st amendment and the Bill of Rights that gives him freedom of speech.
Then, inevitably, he has to go see the principal. Luckily, we've got a sensible principal that realizes that expressing an opinion in the classroom is not a punishable offense. The principal hasn't called us (as parents) to the office yet for one of these incidences. She usually just tries to make sure the my son understands that he doesn't need to create to much disturbance when voicing his "opinion".
I remember one time he got sent to the office for having a swastika drawn on one of his folders. He was writing his own essay (nothing to do with school, he just likes to read and write about history) entitled "Politics and Power" and he had a Jewish Star of David, a swastika, a hammer and sickle, and an American flag drawn on the cover of the folder that had his writings in it.
The teacher pitched a fit and sent him to the office without letting him explain himself. The principal listened to his story and sent him back to class without even a reprimand.
All I can say is, we're lucky to have Dr. Wheaton as his principal. Otherwise, I'm sure my son would've been taken out in handcuffs by now too.
can you imagine if like 4000 people called and demanded that
they issue a public apology to this kid!! both in writing , and in a press release!!
Stand tall.
This young lad is trying very hard to be a good citizen and good man. It is my fervent hope that someday he sees fit to join the Freemasons, since I would be very proud to call him "Brother".
Hypocrisy. It's not natural
Hypocrisy. It's not natural for one to accept hypocrisy and that is exactly what these GIC's teach. I dropped in my 10 grade year went down the street and took a GED due to this. Teachers don't like it when you can prove they are hypocits and that believing in what they are pushing is folly. Not all of my teacher were douche bags but it only takes one. When I faced the Dean of the school it was all over.

This young man is to be commended on his grasp of
Constitutional values. He certainly is fortunate to have been raised in an environment conducive to such endeavours. Unfortunately it may seem like it sometimes, as it does everywhere- but I hardly see this town as an area of concern as a "police state". We hear one side of a story with many details left out. Before judgement is cast on the entire community it may be wise to hear the other side of the story. The school has a website with contact information. It appears to be a tight knit community that prides itself on school/home communication and it may be unfair to assume that they are not . Before we rush to judgement and herald this bright young man as the next Ron Paul at the cost of his school district and the local law enforcement that answered the call we may want to learn more of the facts. http://www.breckenridge.k...

implement the money for use on public education to the President and Governor that make the Police State a reality.

Hooray for this kid and all who stand up for there God given rights.

truly inspiring.
I'd have to see the original incident
He wasn't talking about his free speech rights when he was first asked to hush. Sounds like another case of, "Hey, look, we have a police state." When will the youth and others in America realize that there will always be authority and it is not unconstitutional to respect it. This particular video absolutely does not PROVE to me that he is a respectful young man. When I see respect for authority and STILL police enforcement, then I will be concerned. Many people have not learned respect for authority at all. As far as saying the teacher did not know that free speech is a constitutional right, I think he was just getting all self righteous and argumentative. Sounds like he was interfering in a volatile situation and making it worse. That is what I hear from this tape and I am on his side. Maybe some very important facts were left out that would persuade me the other way.
The only important fact here
is that they called the cops. What the hell are they calling the cops for. Yes, the kid should have shut up and sit down when the teacher told him too. I mean the kid is not a counselor and didn't really have any right to disobey the teacher. But this is not a criminal offense. If this incident is true then it shows that we are definately in a police state. The kid was right on that part. If the kid was being disrespectful or unruley then they can expell him or what ever but calling the cops is just plain stupid.
This I totally agree with
This video does not indicate why calling the cops was at all necessary. I started to add this about the same time that I hit post. But the whole thing could have been avoided, from what is said here, if he would just respect authority.
yeah Im going to have to withhold judgement on this one
until I know what all the facts are- the kid sounds pretty pumped. He seems more interested in fashionable talking points than the result of his suppression (being unable to console a classmate whod been assaulted by an "object"). Im glad that he is interested enough in the Constitution at his age to talk about it- thats a really good sign. Still at that age you dont realise that youre a child going to a tax-funded place to learn from people who generally have a desire to see kids succeed- thats how they measure their own success. When youre a kid its a prison and its fun to fantasize that its like a small concentration camp and its you against them. Sounds like he has some good role-models but he's having a hard time processing the information in a productive way- he's young. I may be way off and the principal has had a stepdaughter locked up in his basement for 24 years. I really dont see enough in this video to justify firing up the prayer chain.
A reversal of roles is
A reversal of roles is required here. Pay the kid the teacher's wage and put the 'teachers' in the seat of the students. Virtually nothing will be learned from these public school educated 'teachers.' Not in the discourse of politics and economics. How do you think we got to this point?
Free education for all children in public schools.

fear is what they will learn

Everything the kid says is true...
All Im saying is you need order in a classroom. Susie is crying because Billy pulled her pig tail. (allegedly) So Kimberly goes to the aid of her friend (insert all 5,000 Biblical references as to why this is the right thing to do and a few Ben Franklin quotes) The teacher (whose ALWAYS telling EVERYone what to do) tells Kimberly to return to her desk (clearly circumventing the commission commanded to Kimberly by our Lord...AND Ben Franklin- both apon whose precepts the very nation was founded apon) Kimberly boldly questions authority as did all great leaders of the past and openly as the Lord commandeth. The teacher then advises her that if she will not return to her desk she will need to call in the principal (shes not about to cease this young lady by the crook of her arm) So Kimberly does her best Lee Harvey Oswald hollaring "I am not resisting arrest!" as they escort her rigid body from the classroom. Kimberly is certainly up to speed on the precepts of liberty- I doubt however she has the maturity to lead just yet.
I think you are giving the
I think you are giving the adults more credit than they deserve. Unfortunately, some of the kids are smarter and more mature than the adults in their 'education environment...'
I totally agree that the public school system leaves much to be
desired. But what do you do? Shut down the schools? They have PTA groups to reign in the curriculum- if ya dont like it ya vote it out. If its coming from the govt- deal on a local level. As long as school is in session (and it was) this young man is the schools responsibility to be kept safe. Its sad that it came to calling the police- but in the age of school shootings if anything happened while the child was under their supervision they would be liable. Did they not try to contact his parents/guardian? Were they concerned he may endanger through distruptive behaviour those on his bus? I dont see that he was "persecuted" for talking about the Constitution- i sense he was being veiwed as disruptive- and the content had nothing to do with it. He was asked to chill out- and didnt (sorry- if everyone spent all day talking about the Constitution other areas of study may suffer). He dosnt say he was taken away in a police car and booked- I bet the officer (probably a male and a female) came and talked to him. Obviously whatever he said to the boy whod been attacked evoked a negative reaction by the teacher. he left out what it was he was saying when the teach told him to be quiet. He's in school- he's smart enough to know what the Bill Of Rights are - he's smart enough to look at the clock and say- class is out in a few minutes- we'll finish our conversation then.
"but in the age of school
"but in the age of school shootings if anything happened while the child was under their supervision they would be liable"
if you sacrific freedom for security you have neither
I appreciate your sentiment
but it really dosnt apply. There are plenty of battles - we just need to pick them a little bit better and try to refrain from Al Sharptoning off everytime someone says "I was told to be shut up in class". So your neighbours are partying til 4 am on a wednesday- your dog is barking and noone on the block can get any sleep- youve warned them in the past and dont feel like having a beer bottle thrown at you so you call the cops- they drive over and tell them to turn it the hell down. Now you have a bunch of kids hollaring about a police state. Yes- in MANY areas the signs of a police state are apparent- but not everything a cop does is a violation of your rights.
Yes, the education
Yes, the education establishment should be sold to the highest bidder. Today would be nice...
