Mike Weber Endorses June 28th Republican State Convention

"Given the dismal performance of the Nevada Republican Party at the April Convention, I have no confidence that they have the ability to convene a fair and legitimate process," Weber stated.

Reno, NV, June 9, 2008: Long-time Republican leader Mike Weber has endorsed the assembly of Nevada Republican State Convention Delegates on June 28, 2008 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno.

Responding to the Nevada Republican Party call back to Convention in late July, long-time Republican leader Mike Weber of Reno is throwing his support behind the Republican gathering being organized by Dr. Wayne Terhune.

“I have been involved in the Nevada Republican Party for over twenty years. Given the dismal performance of the Nevada Republican Party at the April convention, I have no confidence that they have the ability to convene a fair or legitimate process,” Weber stated. “The call to the Convention issued by the State Party Executive Committee is unprecedented, is not legitimate, and is not supported by Party rules or processes.”

Weber, a former Washoe County Party Chairman and four-time Delegate to the Republican National Convention, has served as Nevada’s representative on the national Committee on Rules at the last two national conventions. Dubbed “Mr. Rules” at the April convention, Weber has a demonstrated knowledge of party processes and a well-known reputation of fighting for open and fair Party procedures.

“I am excited that the Republican Party has attracted so many new people into the process from many camps. To welcome these Republicans into the process, I offered free Parliamentary Procedure classes open to all Republicans. Many new people and several Party regulars attended.” Over the past several months, hundreds attended Weber’s classes in Robert’s Rules, and these classes seem to have paid dividends. During the recent state convention many delegates credited Weber with providing them a familiarity in the process permitting them to express their viewpoints in the large convention crowd.

Now Weber has sided with Terhune to reassemble the Republican State Delegates to complete the business of the Republican Convention. They believe that they can provide a fair and open process that will be recognized by the national Party.

“Nearly two-thirds of the attendees at the April Convention demanded an open process of nominating and electing National Delegates. If these reasonable Republicans gather together at the Grand Sierra on June 28, we will complete the Convention in the best traditions of the Republican Party,” Weber stated. “I am prepared to defend this gathering all the way to Minneapolis in September. With all of the video available from the previous State Convention, Party leaders would be well-advised to drop their futile efforts to reconvene in July and join us later this month, lest they invite further national embarrassment to themselves and the Nevada Republican Party.”

Wow that's BIG!

And released just before our Texas convention! =)

GO Nevada! GO!!!

Watch the Party Leaders & Especially the Chair of the Convention

In Kentucky, we were not allowed to speak because of the state chair. Then, afterwards lies came out that we only had forty or fifty delegates when we had 225. The other people there voted for the committee reports without even knowing what was in them Some of the three hundred people who were supposed to be against us were bussed in. So, if you took a real look at the delegate count: 525 total delegates out of 2,672 total. Yes, and we had 225 plus some of the 300 were bussed in. If we had not attended and some the three hundred were not bussed to compact the evil Ron Paul delegates. The total delegate count would been under 200 or even lower out of 2,672! The Republican Party of Kentucky is really a faction of its former self.

Terrific News

Mr. Weber was very valuable in keeping the convention on the 26th on the staight and narrow and for sure, he knows the rules. That is imperative and because the GOP leadership knows he plays fair and always by the rules, this press release has got to have them more than a bit nervous. Also any delegates who were listening, know that Mr. Weber knows what he is talking about and if he says the June 28th date called by Mr. Terhune is legitimate, I think the numbers will grow appreciably. Nevada delegates - Excellent news. I've made my reservations, have you?

I got a leter from the NV GOP/Sue Lowden today and it is what I call a "begging" letter. A begging letter is not indicative of a strong position. "You will be forced" (underlined) was repeated in the letter three times, referring to now we will be forced to pay more taxes, have a larger government, etc. if we don't give the GOP money to campaign for McCain against Obama. How can that be, a vote for McCain is so similar to a vote for Obama, why would I donate to that position when I'm a conservative. The tone of the letter sounded rather desperate to me. How any conservative can support McCain and truly think he represents the values of a Republican is beyond me. Her parting shot in a P.S. "We can't afford to let the Democrats have their way. Please...send the most generous contribution to the Nevada Republican Party today..." I say we can't let the NV GOP leadership has its way...it's the wrong path.

IT'S DOABLE

You should tell her we can't afford...

another Bush!!! I would rather have Obama than any of the other clowns in the race! (Of course Dr. Paul is my #1 choice :-) ) But I believe Obama is at least a reasonable man.
I have to give you guys a cheer for sticking it out with the Nevada GOP!! WAY TO SOCK IT TO 'EM!!!! GO NEVADA!!!!!! :-)

Thanks for the good wishes

But please look a little more in depth at Obama being a reasonable man.
If you think Bush and the current Republican leadership has cost us a bundle, you just wait until Obama gets in there with a Democrat-heavy legislature.. He already has a bill in for a World Proverty Tax which it is estimated will cost each American family $8500. I don't know about you...but that doesn't fit into my current pocketbook. No, reasonable means cutting back on the size of government...that's not in Obama's mindset. Actually, so far as being reasonable that is difficult to access since I don't think we really know who this man is.

IT'S DOABLE

Obama cannot be worse than bush.

Bush is the most impeachable president in our history who violates his oath of office on a regular basis.Obama cannot be any worse than bush-but he is a globalist--but then again almost all of our current politicians are globalists.

Thats right..the Congress is

Thats right..the Congress is going for that as we speak..instead of (each time I see the crap going on) saying OMG, I have decided to say "NO. It is NOT going to happen that way!" In my opinion, if enough say it, it will not.

Bump!

That is awesome news!Thanks Mike!

This sounds great!

Mr. Weber seems to be a real patriot.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

I believe.

Honestly I didn´t read the whole post but want to support a good post. I believe in Nevada. Great state.

That is absolutely

That is absolutely fantastic. I am looking forward to hearing how Beers and Lowden respond!
