A fallen comrade

A fellow member of Ron Paul meetup group #9, Eric Davenport was killed in an automibile accident this weekend, on his way home from work. Mr. Davenport and his wife Danielle were tireless volunteers at the Miami Ron Paul 08 office they would drive at least 30 miles almost daily from Florida City to our office on SW 8th Street in Miami. Many times Eric and Danielle when they couldn't get a baby sitter would bring their two sons Dante (about 3) and I honestly can't recall the younger ones name. I think its important that the campaign and all of us involved offer a helping hand to Danielle Davenport and her two young children. Especially in light of the fact of everything she and her husband did for the cause of liberty. I honestly have not been able to speak to Danielle, but I know she needs us all in this very dark moment. If everyone can please pass on the information to their meetup group, and ask for a small donation, $5 from a whole lot of people adds up very quickly, it will do a whole lot of good for their two kids. My name is Charlie Ferrante and I am an assistant organizer to the meetup group, and anyone who wishes to contact me can do so at, chucky25@ufl.edu.

Thank you

IN HONOR

IN HONOR

We've already had yesterday, and yes we have today
I'm not sure of what tomorrow brings, for that I can not say.

As difficult as it is not to be sad, I must not wallow in sorrow
I'll grasp the torch of my unknown Brother and carry it until tomorrow.

I owe it to my fallen friend, for whom I've never known
To carry his spirit forward, just as he had shown

I believe he would say continue and don't see his absence as a loss
He'd say remain steady with our message and carry it at any cost.

To his wife and children, family and friends, his spirit shall never die
Its embodied in our message. so we will never wonder why

go and show your support

Response

SSGT, i have nothing to gain if someone wants to send $5 or whatever they feel they can give to Mrs. Davenport. If they want to send flowers as some have or a letter then thats fine. Showing her that people the country feel for her will do a lot of good. As an assistant organizer to the RP meetup group here in Miami, I feel its my obligation to do whatever I can to help her and her kids. Just because someone dies in a car accident doesnt mean that the Miami Herald or a news station is going to cover it. Obituaries in the newspaper have to paid for. Not everything is reported. So if I come across anything that proves to you that Eric passed away I will surely post that. I volunteered with both Eric and Danielle, and played with their kids. They are great people and were amazing volunteers. They didnt have much when it came to money, but they gave a lot to the campaign and the movement.

Money?

Before everyone starts gallivanting around here with sorrow lets look upon this with open critical eyes. I looked for Eric Davenport. I looked for car crash in Florida city. I looked for stories in the Florida city newspaper. Local news channels. nothing. Chucky would you care to provide us with a little more information about the incident? Date, time, or link to a story to substantiate your claim to a fallen comrade. its the least you can do to help the family.

It's always good to be vigilant SSgT_AF

I called Jefferson Memorial Cemetery and confirmed that yesterday, a service was held for Eric Davenport and he was buried.

Rest in peace, Eric.

My sincere condolences to his wife and children, along with his friends and family.

My prayer

God bless his family and comfort them.

More info concerning Mr. Davenport

Mr. Davenport is going to be flown to Pittsburgh to be buried. Dani plans on holding a party of sorts here in South Florida to remember Eric. Eric did not want people getting together to cry, but instead wanted them to smile and enjoy each others company. Eric leaves behind two young sons, by the names of Dante and Christian. Many of you may have seen Dani's comments here on this website and other Ron Paul forums. Anyone wishing to send their condolences or donation may do so by sending it to this address..

My sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Please post more info:

So we can send flowers ect. The kids should know what their Dad stood for, thru us Cards are a great idea

Very sorry to hear this...

please send my condolences.

I think her screen name is

I think her screen name is "missdavenport" she's posted on here mnay times. Is that right?

Really!! Are you sure

Really!! Are you sure missdavenport? I always enjoyed her posts they were often the gentle or kind words needed when people were flaming each other. Is there a way to get an address?

Can you find an address to send cards?

Perhaps the address of the mortuary, or have someone set up a P.O. Box just for this since it wouldn't be good to publish her address and post it for us.
I know families can take comfort in knowing many people attended the funeral, and since we can't all be present, a large shower of cards may be a blessing.
A mortuary address would also serve for contributions for Danielle and her family----or set up a college fund at a local bank?
Keep us posted.

That's a good idea. Actually

That's a good idea. Actually I remember my local credit union setting up a special account for a local widow under similar circumstances. That's not hard to do. I would rather give her funds for now instead of college, remember where our economy and school system is heading toward.

I accept your friendly amendment!

You are right---in unstable times like these money now is good!

So sorry to hear this news

Please give his family my condolences. Perhaps you can find out if the family has set up a bank or some sort of escrow account to accept donations? We certainly appreciate their active participation in the revolution and the work they have done. My heart goes out Danielle and her children and family.
