Cognitive Dissonance! Know it, understand it, fight it and we will win!

Cognitive Dissonance is a psychological state that describes the uncomfortable feeling when a person begins to understand that something the person believes to be true is, in fact, not true. Similar to ambivalence, the term cognitive dissonance describes conflicting thoughts or beliefs (cognitions) that occur at the same time, or when engaged in behaviors that conflict with one's beliefs. In academic literature, the term refers to attempts to reduce the discomfort of conflicting thoughts by performing actions that are opposite to one's beliefs.
In simple terms, it can be the filtering of information that conflicts with what one already believes, in an effort to ignore that information and reinforce one's beliefs. In detailed terms, it is the perception of incompatibility between two cognitions, where "cognition" is defined as any element of knowledge, including attitude, emotion, belief, or behavior. The theory of cognitive dissonance states that contradicting cognitions serve as a driving force that compels the mind to acquire or invent new thoughts or beliefs, or to modify existing beliefs, so as to reduce the amount of dissonance (conflict) between cognitions. Experiments have attempted to quantify this hypothetical drive. Some of these have examined how beliefs often change to match behavior when beliefs and behavior are in conflict.

I know I post stuff that gets little response and may be considered wacky. Ron says we need to understand what the causes are so we can find the solutions. Since he does not dictate what we think except the belief in our freedom as defined by the constitution and bill of rights, we are pretty free to think what we want.
Ron does, however, set an example. He has never compromised to the Party Leadership and following the pack and kissed butt. When he should vote and toe the Party line he looks at the constitution and (as he swore to uphold) follows that. Nothing more is American and Patriotic than that!
Now let us consider our poor excuse for a government and the politicians we have as representatives.
There is little difference between the parties.
Between them, they have prevented the chance for any third party. In this sense they have broken the first law of life itself. Things change and everything else changes proportionally. (Consider RP having his own convention, it forces the GOP to change in some way because he changed!) A good example, are the dinosaurs. They were the supreme creatures for 400 million years. In fact they were so successful that while they were the head of the food chain, the ‘in the wings waiting’ mammals had no chance to be bigger than a mouse.
So we can see that we are ‘in the wings waiting’. What for? A collapse in life as we know it.
Now, this is where you may not agree.
The fact is government controls us, despite the fact we must put them there. Every year this separation grows. Throughout history this continues until the people rise up in violent revolution. This is interesting. When the French revolted only the ruling class died which was not so many. When Stalin wanted to secure his rule six million Russians died. To understand this is to understand what happens to all societies. When we have a holiday and visit Egypt, Greece and Rome or Baghdad we must remember they were there centers of empires. Let us not forget the Chinese who had kingdoms and empires predating Europe and charted the seas.
We are on the brink of the devastation of the American Empire, or more accurately the end of the Anglo-Saxons’ domination of the world. If we consider the Iraq war and look at who bought into it the most. Basically the Americans, British and Australians. Canada is still in Afghanistan.
Just consider this one fact. Always the politicians have promised to put education as the priority. For as long as you can remember they have re-assured parents that their children will be educated. The result today is we trail far behind the rest of the world and lock our children in schools that look like prisons on the outside and have the same mentally inside.
Her is another. Always they honor our military. Yet vets sleep under bridges! They receive the worst medical treatment.
Now this is where the cognitive resonance kicks in……
The vast majority cannot see this! They cannot think outside a Republican/Democrat defined game. They cannot see any alternative approaches. We would never commit war crimes. Our problems are caused by the other side, never us. Our politicians only ever have our best interests at heart. No American would have allowed 911 to happen nor Pearl Harbor etc. etc.

Our Ron Paul forums are full of understanding what will and has happened. They cover gold, the depression, 911 and much more. But then again our mentor Ron Paul has no desire to tell us how to live our lives. He says we can’t fix the country if we don’t have the right diagnosis so we can have the right medicine.
So we Ron Paul Patriots are an enlightened minority. We are the future!

We must continue, whatever happens and independent of any election cycle to spread the word and awaken the people. Just continue to point out how what we actually have in the way of facts does not match what the stated belief theory dictates and pretty soon the population will realize their beliefs are wrong.

When all the campaigning is over, the spotlights of inquiry are switched off and oaths of office are sworn and our leaders and powers that be, heave a sign of relief and turn again to do their dirty business in the dark and secret….. they will look out of the window and see us, the Ron Paul Movement still marching, still debating and GROWING!

Keep sending that $20 a week to those making the waves and confronting the people. If we are one million strong and all could send $20 a week we could utterly destroy the neocons, corporations and current party systems. We could have fair and honest elections. Educate our children, care for our vets and elderly and have decent job and salary. We could travel freely, have honest government and be the envy of the world.
